Dune: Part Two (2024)
Only bad thing is it was hours too short
This was epic. The sounds, music, graphics, decor, acting, scènery, costumes, it was mesmerizing from start til end. Some parts were terrifying in their perfect settings. The wormriding is one of the most intense and thrilling scenes I have ever watched and I am a big horror fan.
The atmosphere reminded me of The Cell, at least in terms of cinematography. Absolutely beautifull and the wait for the last part of the triology, which release Will be in 2028 at his best, will be sweet torture. And please let Austin Butler become a bold goth, God he is sexy as hell in this masterpiece. I am prettig sure i will Watch it over and over. Untill part three is there anyway.
Project Gio (2019)
Some funny moments
Ok, this is a bad movie. But.. there are some nice Dutch comedians (like Arie Koomen) who share corny but fun jokes. Besides that, it is a mess. But I had a fun watch during cleaning up ;)
Matterhorn (2013)
A small, special movie
This movie is just sweet. It has an eerie vibe but that makes it interesting. Faith, love, education, nurture and nature, it's all there when two men who seem to have noting similar, meet in a setting of strict religion and a narrow minded little village. Then events take a weird turn. If you can appreciate a subtle, slow, weird movie made with love this is your kind of thing.
House of Cards (2013)
Incredible
I am Dutch and I did not give sh*t about American politics. Until I start watching HoC. This is an incredible series that made me gasp for air more than once. Even though I don't understand everything said and spoken about, I am looking forward to Season 3 more then any other series I watch. That says a lot. It is thrilling, surprising, exciting and intelligent. What a surprise to see something about the White House like that.
It is giving the opportunity for way more layers than an onion the size of a watermelon. It is about manipulating, intrigue, choices made by people and about the way this effects their lives. I hope it will continue for years and years because I cannot get enough of Frank Underwood aka Kevin Spacey. Kevin for president, I would almost say.
YellowBrickRoad (2010)
Incredible weird, time loop, horror movie with a vintage twist
I really enjoyed this movie. Saw it twice within a month and it still leaves me with questions. Not an average horror movie but still some blood in it.
As a group filmmakers sets for the woods behind a movie theater, to find out what happened to a whole town that died in the wilderness, they are up for some disorientation.
The setting, but also the old, yet slightly disturbing music, makes this movie a classic in its own, small genre. The themes from the Wizard of Oz comes in quit more then you think. I absolutely loved this one. Also reminded me in some way of the Shining.
If you like this one, go for Triangle as well.
