Untamed Heart (1993)
An Untamed Classic
A movie about love in the highest degree. Caroline has bad luck with men and love. Adam has no one to love. Then one night Adam saves Caroline and the adventure begins. At first she doesn't know what to think about this guy that watches over her like an angel. Then she decides to give him her heart. And the audience is sucked right in. Adam tells this remarkable story of his baboon heart while you hear the song nature boy and rain falling in the back ground. Absolutely mesmerizes you. The song nature boy describes the character perfectly. He was a strange enchanted boy, a little shy and sad of eye but very wise was he. It really hits you hard. Then he's attacked and they come to a stand still. He needs a new heart but believes he won't be able to love her the same. So in a way they have a race against death. Trying to love each other as much as they can before he dies. It finishes with a sad thud. I was so moved I cried like a baby. The letter was simple but said everything. Adam will always carry Caroline's heart with him.
The Sum of Us (1994)
Russel Crowe can play any character
This movie was very different from any of the others I have seen with Russel Crowe. He has the talent to even pull of gay. Not ever actor could play a gay man. The only other actor I believe that can play a gay character is Bruce Willis.
I enjoy how the father narrated as he performed in the movie. It made the movie (in my opinion) more personal. I like the end when the father has the attack and his girlfriend is ashamed of herself. She deserved it. It wasn't the fathers fault the son was gay. She should have figured that out right away. You can't blame the father for what the grown-up son does. All in all I enjoyed the movie even the kissing didn't bother me.
Moulin Rouge! (2001)
WOW, WONDERFUL, FUN, EXCITING, GREAT MOVIE
I love this movie. It's got all you want in a romance, musical, and even a little drama. It's fabulous to know that there are that many actors out there that can sing. Ewan McGregor is a dream boat and boy can he sing. I voice from heaven and a body made by the devil. (ha, ha) The choreography was spectacularly done. I loved how they used songs from the past, it was creative. The director, producer, and writer Baz Luhrmann is a movie genius. The way he setup movie and with the camera angles, shows this imaginary world where all thing do happen. Where the nightly pleasures and undying love meet you find meaning hidden.
I really loved the bright colors used on the set and with the costumes. It made the movie's beat so vibrant and wild with energy.
When I first saw the movie I was bewildered and a little insulted but I out grew it. The movie is a little odd but it is also magical. It's the filthy day dreams we secretly have. Except in our day dreams we don't burst out into song. Although that would be cool. Moulin Rouge was just a WOW, WONDERFUL, FUN, EXCITING, GREAT MOVIE. Simple lovely!
Prince Charming (2001)
One Lovely Sweet Kiss of Happiness
I loved this movie so much. It had the fairly tale come true dust sprinkled all over it. My heart did a flip at the amazing all star cast. Martin Short is funny and wonderful as always. I love anything with Bernadette Peters in it. She is full of spunk and beauty. The actor Sean Maguire was the perfect prince charming. He had the accent, the body, the hair, and the charm all women secretly dream about. The story line was great, how all their lives and problems intertwined with each others. But as always they lived happily ever after. I loved the chase seen through the park. It was your classic damsel in distress with the hunky rescuer. The only thing missing was that Bernadette Peters didn't sing. If you love happy endings with a modern day flair then this is the movie for you. It's one lovely sweet kiss of happiness.
