Starts off well then goes downhill
29 September 2022
The first half of the movie gets you intrigued and you think 'this looks promising' but the second half of the movie is like the screenwriters just gave up. This is the exact opposite of what you want from a movie. Allison Janney's performance was very good and Matt Craven was okay (but a very minor role) and I think the next best actors were Ozzie and Jersey who played Jax the dog . The ending is absurd, the fight between two main characters on the beach is ridiculous as is the actions by the CIA which end the fight. The very final shot of the movie makes absolutely no sense given what has happened in the preceding 10 minutes.

Could this be the best series to never win an Emmy?
19 August 2022
So after 5 seasons and 46 nominations BCS is yet to win an Emmy! WTF I hear you cry and I am right with you, but never fear, after watching season 6 I'm sure this situation will be rectified.

The writing was incredible, the resolution of the character arcs and the linking to, and setting up of, Breaking Bad storyline was brilliant. The acting particularly by Bob Odenkirk (Saul), Rhea Seehorn (Kim) and Tony Dalton (Lalo) was superb. The finale, unlike many other series, was great and tied up all the BCS storylines and some of the Breaking Bad storylines as well.

I'm sure cast and producers etc are tired of getting dressed up each year, walking the red carpet and then politely clapping whilst all the other shows win, but I think think they should hang in there as I'm certain they will be rewarded at next year's Emmys.

I nearly didn't watch because of the reviews - that would have been a mistake
12 July 2022
Sure it is not a great movie but it is much better than the reviews on here would have you believe. It was an enjoyable hour and a half of entertainment.

The King of Propaganda does it again - and I'm all in.
11 July 2022
In case you're wondering I love all the Michael Moore films but you can't really call them documentaries they are propaganda. He has his point of view and then produces a film to support that view. But he does it so well, I am always on his side after watching one of his films and this one is no different.

Maybe I watch his films because I already lean towards his views, and I'm not saying that he fabricates stuff, but If I wanted a film to convince people that man had already landed on Mars I would ask Michael Moore to make it simply because he is so good at taking existing material and spinning it to support his point of view.

Non-American's Opinion
24 June 2022
Upfront - I am Australian.

Yes, this documentary was largely one sided but any discerning person can tell that the police's behaviour during the various incidents, and in their subsequent interviews and court appearances was deplorable.

But, in their defence ...

If America had sensible gun control laws like the rest of the first world countries, the police probably would behave differently and often would not be put in these situations to start with.

So whilst the documentary is mainly trying to blame the police for the specific incidents described a broader perspective, which was not considered in the documentary, could assign blame to American society as a whole.

Killing Eve: Hello, Losers (2022)
Season 4, Episode 8
3/10
Um, I think someone confused the synopsis with the script.
11 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'm pretty sure the episode synopsis went "Blah blah blah ... and then Villanelle kills the remaining baddies and then she gets killed. THE END". So that's what they did for the last 5 mins of the 32 episodes. Very rushed and poor ending.

Is this the only movie in history that features six women who have won an acting Oscar?
10 April 2022
Plus another with an honorary Oscar.

I don't know, but it is a bloody good movie as you would expect with so much talent involved. It is not often that a movie has an almost entirely female cast, yet when you watch it you don't really notice because the story and characters are so engrossing.

The Clifftop Exposition Scene Was Unnecessary
26 January 2022
Overall the final episode was good as it tied up all the loose ends, however I felt the clifftop exposition scene between Harry and Percy was unnecessary and insulting to the viewers as it felt like it was saying "Okay, here is a summary of what happened for all you dummies out there".

This episode was aptly named.
22 August 2021
It was misery to watch. I thought the show had finally gotten back on track with the previous episode which was brilliant, but no, they follow it up with this crap. Red really needs to kill Liz. Just think of all the benefits - happy fans, better ratings, positive reviews, and story line opportunities (how will the FBI react to such an event?). Please tell me that Megan Boone doesn't have it written into her contract her Liz character cannot be killed off.

Another Road Trip Movie
6 July 2021
But I liked it. Pretty standard, a group of flawed characters go on a road trip and through their shared experiences and interactions all end up better than where they started. The reason for this road trip was a nice spin, and the three leads were very good especially Bryan Cranston. Worth watching , with many laughs along the way but don't watch it if you expect it to be light and happy.

Report Card: Far Exceeded Expectations
25 June 2021
I read the synopsis for each of the episodes and thought - BORING!!! But I noted that it had some good reviews, so hesitantly I thought I would just check out the first episode.

It was a big surprise, and whilst being far from a fast paced show, I found it refreshing to watch something that was intellectually stimulating as opposed to the usual meaningless diatribe that I enjoy.

I found the show made me start to think about and question views that I had previously held thinking they were obviously correct. The show highlights the grey areas around subjects that many consider to be black and white.

Whilst I am no expert it also seems to be historically accurate and seamlessly blends historical footage into the episodes.

I recommend giving it a view, I mean there are only 4 episodes and if you don't like it you can stop after the first - but you won't.

Classic line from the final episode of season 1 that summarises the entire season. This episode is a great ending to the season which just leaves you anticipating the second season.

I've loved Clint Eastwood as an actor for decades, but ...
1 October 2020
I have to admit he is an even better director/producer. He has a knack for picking stories and making movies that pull you in and keep you engrossed without having to rely on massive budgets, special effects/CGI. He understands that a quality movie is one that leads the audience on an emotional journey by getting them to relate to the characters and the situations they find themselves in. This movie is a fine example and the casting and acting was very good. I can't understand why Paul Walter Hauser didn't get as much recognition as he deserved when it came to nominations and awards. This movie is well worth watching.

This documentary is a paradox
14 September 2020
First let me say I liked the messages conveyed in this documentary (not so much the dramatisations} and believe they are important and true, but ... Is that because it was a one sided documentary (which it was) which always makes for a much more persuasive argument? Also, did I only watch this because it appeared on my Netflix Home page, and is this just because Netflix knows that I like these types of documentaries? If so, then I feel like I may have been manipulated by the technology and that this could actually be fake news, however if that is true then the arguments contained in the documentary are true which makes it real news. My head is spinning, it is too much for my simple brain. I think I will just go and check my Facebook page to make sure that people still like me.

Good Idea, Poor Execution
13 September 2020
I'll start with the positive. The concept was good. Nicky Whelan was the only bright light in this movie. Every other aspect of this movie was bad. Either Bruce Willis has developed dementia and forgotten how to act, or he just couldn't be bothered, or he spent the whole movie doing a bad impersonation of John Malkovich as a joke. Whichever it was he was bad, and I like Bruce Willis.

The problem with rating true stories
30 August 2020
So what do you rate? The story behind the movie and how it makes you feel, or the quality of the movie? When you know the story is true and it brings a tear to your eye and inspires you to be a better person (even though some parts may have been fictional or exaggerated) is that what you should base your rating on, or is it the acting, directing, screenwriting etc? Or am I just over thinking it? Anyway, story - 10/10; Movie 7/10.

I didn't believe all the negative reviews. I was wrong!!!
25 February 2020
I read the negative reviews, I saw the rating, but I looked at the cast and thought "that can't be right", so I watched it. Okay, I admit it I was wrong! The reviews and rating are pretty spot on. I'm not going to go in to details as other reviews cover those, I just felt the need to say I am sorry for doubting the IMDB users.

Am I allowed to swear on IMDB?
10 February 2020
This is the worse piece of crap I have ever watched. Don't be fooled by the fact it has big stars in it. If you are an imsomniac looking for a cure then watch this movie. If you are after something to entertain you for a couple of hours then avoid this movie.

The Movie Should Have Been Called "Horse Crap"
9 February 2020
I know people are going to say "Oh, you just don't understand, it is a deep and meaningful movie that is an allegory for what it is like to have mental illness and blah, blah, blah ... " But basically it is just a crap movie. Don't watch it if you are looking for a couple of hours of enjoyment.

Frenetic or Frantic? Maybe both
1 February 2020
That describes the pace of the movie which is really just reflecting the state of mind of the protagonist Howard Ratner (Adam Sandler). Sandler's performance is very good so don't be put off when you see his name in the credits. This movie is surprisingly good and well worth watching.

I think people are confusing "Deep and Meaningful" with "Boring"
16 January 2020
The movie is boring, there is not much else to say, unless of course you are pretentious and think crappy poetry is amazing, in which case you may like it..

This should have been released on the 1st of April.
22 October 2019
The acting and writing was very good. The performance by the Marcus character was particularly good. Based on most of the other reviews it would seem that this project has been a success, and achieved what it set out to do.

Is a twist really a twist if it is expected?
11 October 2019
A good thriller should have an unexpected twist at the end, not one that is obvious before the halfway point of the movie as is the case with "Fractured".

And searching for the light at the end of the tunnel, then watch "The Shawshank Redemption", you will be doing yourself a favour. That's it, I'm not going to talk about how good the movie is, as it has all been said before.
