Lord of Misrule (2023)
People who don't like this movie don't like good movies
I don't understand what people expect from this movie. Was it too sophistocated? Was there not enough sex and swearing and bad acting? I know that's what everyone thinks makes a good movie these days so.... I'm not an older person either and I'm not a prude. I'm just tired of trash movies.
For this one, the acting is great and the story is very good. The setting is in a beautiful English town and countryside. I liked that it didn't end like a lot of movies, with having the viewer interpret what happened or leaving it completely open ended to interpretation. That gets old and can really be lazy on the writing end of it.
The Strays (2023)
Completely Ignore the Idiotic Bad Reviews
This movie IS indeed a thriller. It IS something that can happen, and as far as people in the house?- That happens every second. Anyone who thinks this movie isn't possible or was "confusing" has no idea about real life or the intelligence to understand it. The acting was great, it was never boring, and the ending was perfect, just like I thought it would be. I'm not the type of person who will watch and like just anything. In fact, most stuff available to us is total crap. This was not crap, it was intelligent, interesting, and the "message" people don't get is actually very clear. The only confusion here is the fact that people don't get it. I would watch it again, just for the good acting and script. Yes, it's weird- it's supposed to be weird, because the characters in the movie are weird and the story is about weird people who do weird, bad things just like in real life. I'm not leaving spoilers so I can't say much more. I can't believe this movie only has 4.8 stars currently.
Wicked (1998)
Julia Stiles Doesn't Want You Watch This
This is the WORST-terrible, over the top music, bizarre acting and script, and unlikable characters. I really don't understand how this movie even came to be. It's actually embarrassing to admit that I watched it and if you're reading this, wondering if you should give it a chance, the answer is no. The thing is, it's not just a bad movie, it's completely weird and I don't mean in a good way. Weird is fine and even brilliant if it's done right. This is weird like I ate a bag of mushrooms I found in a dumpster. In fact, I wish I had found a bag of mushrooms and ate them instead of watching this movie. What is with the writing?!?! What is wrong with you?! How did this get approved to be filmed AND produced AND distributed?
Deadly Recall (2019)
If you don't like this show, you probably don't like true crime!
This show is very interesting and Pat is a man you feel like you know. He's real and he's not full of himself-which he should be, because his ability to solve these cases and find the murderers is impressive. I like that they recreate the scene just as he first saw it when it happened, and how Pat goes through everything with you in detail. You feel like you're right along with him, helping solve the case, which is what I think most of us true crime fans would love to be able to do. He shows genuine caring about the victims and their families, while being able to maintain the composure it takes to solve the crime. I really wish there was a season 3, 4, 5 etc! My husband and I love Deadly Recall. Thanks for sharing your talents and experiences with us, Pat. The world is better because of you.
Malignant (2021)
You Have Got to be Kidding Me
I only gave it a chance because of James Wan. What the hell did I just watch? GARBAGE! Terrible script and bad acting- and I get the camp factor. That wasn't the issue. It was just poor all the way around. I'm not sure what happened but this IS "The Happening" for James Wan.
Room for Rent (2019)
Apparently too complex for some people...
I see a lot of reviews saying this movie is unrealistic and people don't act this way, the dialogue is bad, the teens harassing an old lady isn't what really happens, etc. If you think things like this don't happen, you're fooling yourself.
Someone also mentioned that this "old small woman" wouldn't be able to drag a body around. She's not disabled and feeble. There are ways to move heavy stuff by yourself and trust me, this character in the movie WOULD be able to think of ways to do it.
Also she dressed the way she did to try to attract and impress Bob. Of course it was over the top- that's the point!
I like the move and I thought the acting was solid and dialogue was great. The main character would absolutely talk the way she did and do the things shes done.
Lake Mungo (2008)
Piece of Crap
The good reviews are fake. They HAVE to be. I like slow burners but this was an endless road to nowhere. Good acting wasted on a worthless, pathetic story with ridiculous "twists."
I will never get back the hour and 27 minutes of my life that was wasted watching it.
Comforting Skin (2011)
Deserves a better rating
I'm not one of those people who likes any and every movie they watch. This movie is unlike any other I have seen, and the characters, while depressed and full of psychological issues, are relatable and likable. The story is unusual and touches on many real subjects people deal with daily. Great cinematography.
It's Always Better with Roommates (2015)
Comedy is Funny Again
Hilarious YouTube series that is worth watching multiple times. The acting is good and the writing is impressive with a cast that you can tell has fun while creating comedy gold. My favorite episode is "Said the Pedophile" because the script contains the perfect blend of dry, crude, and slapstick comedy. This episode also displays the acting ability of the cast. Davids catatonic state while recalling memories of his "t-bagging" uncle while Daniel is talking is both brilliant acting and writing.
I think we can all agree that this Nick character probably has firsthand experience in tasters/stun guns.
Jamie Marks Is Dead (2014)
Deserves Better Rating
I really enjoyed this movie. There is no gore or stupid special effects, and is a drama more than a "scary" movie. The acting is good and the characters believable. I agree with the other user that this is a haunting film as It left me speechless and melancholy. Please give this film a chance-there are parts that my husband seemed to be bored with, like maybe they dragged out too much for him, but I found every minute to be intriguing, endearing, or slightly disturbing. I would watch this again but I need time to recover from watching it the first time. It took something out of me and I believe this is because the characters are so real and you feel their emotions.
