Black Mirror: Beyond the Sea (2023)
Black Mirror at its finest
One of the best episodes of the whole show. Aaron Paul does phenomenally at acting & I could totally emphasize & feel immersed in his character with his thoughts, his ideas & his fears.
Storytelling is gritty, obscure as usual.
Throughout the whole series, and in this particular episode, we could always sense where the episodes are going after one or more dramatic events occur, we feel claustrophobic, we feel a weight on our chest, we stop the episode multiple times trying to fight and reject that idea. In the back of our mind we want it to end good, yet we know we eventually surrender, letting them bend and blow our mind once again.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Partings (2022)
Done with this show
I am done with this show . They have spent years & years hyping up the public by saying this was going to be mind blowing, exciting at every level & showing off those digits spent on a humongous project. Yet NOTHING exciting has happened in the first 5 episode (maybe just the very first 10 minutes which they have hooked me up with on that). I had to stop the episode 4 times because it is incredibly slow & I get distracted very easily because of the useless & boring speeches the characters have during the whole hour & more (rewinding to parts of conversation I've lost turned out to be a waste of time). WHERE IS THE ACTION? It's talking, talking over & over. The storyline is very confused, there are too way many characters who could be easily cut out, the acting is poor.
It had to potential to be one of the greatest series ever, but it turns out to be the most delusional series of all time.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Adar (2022)
Getting more & more enjoyable, give it time!
ROP is on top of the game visually & musically speaking (it is at least expected given the $ behind it). Each & every single shot does not waste anything, you can tell the huge mgmt behind it. The pace so far has been very slow, with many conversation filler scenes; the story within the series is still on the making yet there are many interesting hints that need be developed. This episode is okay, maybe it was just us expecting it to be very much lotr-recalling, but if we detach from this perspective we'd enjoy it more. The characters are well written, I really like the development of Galadriel & Arondir; on the other hand acting-wise...not so good.
The 5 arcs story goes on peacefully & coherently, some are more boring than others yet. Lets see how it continues!
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian (2022)
I didn't want the episode to end
First time in the series I didn't want the episode to end. Great screenplay, great CGI & surely an adequate budget unlike previous episodes. Bryce Dallas Howard confirms she's the best director of Mando/Boba. That canyon scene brought me back to little Anakin's race:)
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 4: The Gathering Storm (2022)
I can't believe Mandalorian is created by the same franchise
This series is just boring, lacks on storytelling, has tepid acting & each episode could last half time without useless filler scenes. Boba has gone from being a fierceless hunter to an old man suffering from dementia, not being able to fight, catch a mini robot or get respected.
