Goo chak (2018)
Failed to Stay Focus
This movie has so many loopholes that I shook my head in pity for the director's work. Below par. It did not make sense for residents to continue staying in a haunted house, without the question of the ghosts/spirits unsolved.
And it tried to pull a last minute trick to be a tear-jerker. Seriously? What did the movie tried to be? A ghost film or a sad movie?
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Dull and Depressing
Zack Snyder directed a movie that should be powerful and all commanding, and he did that without much help, as the movie-goers were keen enough to see 3 powerful superhero figures coming together - Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.
What the movie-goers, like me, did not want to see was the depressing and dull tone Zack offered to us. What did it have to be so dark and unoriginal, a rip-off from Christopher Nolan's work, which was beginning to be irritating at Batman 3. Unlike the fight in Avengers 1 between Ironman and Thor, which were brief and exciting, Batman v Superman's fight was unnecessary, tiring and uncalled for. Even the punch from Hulk on Thor beat the fight between Superman and Batman. It shamed me that one of them became the crybaby at the end of the scene.
To a certain extend, I am grateful that X-men did not tear apart cities every time at any fight. Watching Batman v Superman was like watching Transformers going loose. It did not make sense to say that these superheroes were saving the day when buildings were collapsing all around. It was ridiculous to even hear one saying that the whole area had been evacuated. I could not believe such ability of the army to clear within a few hours.
Bruce Wayne gathered no dust as he ran through the falling debris. Superman's hair was sill perfectly combed after he dipped into water. Superman was floating in the air, instead of helping those 3 people on the roof (flood scene). What was Superman doing? Enjoying a display of himself to those he was helping?
Did I miss something about the scene at the desert? Seems like the village was affected but I missed that scene?
Bruce Wayne's and his dreams/nightmares. Gosh.. Could the story line be any duller?
And if I have to see one more scene of Bruce Wayne's parents got killed in a Batman's reboot or even Uncle Ben's death in Spidey, I could scream murder in the cinema.
The world needs Alfred. He is the superhero. Not only he is a butler, he can design, build and fix cars, gadgets and more.

Disappointing
I am no expert in commenting on the art direction of films, and neither am I good in detecting first class acting. But Costume-Martial art films in the East are cursed with continuous decline.
This film is surely better than Chen Kaige's The Promise, but weaker than Zhang Yimou's The House of Flying Dagger.
15 minutes into the movie, I had to whisper apology to my movie-watching partner, for dragging him to watch the film. It did not make any sense that in a fighting scene, there were defenseless victims who would stick around. And the editing in the beginning was poor.
It seemed that the director was trying too hard to make audience sympathetic to each of the 4 main characters. The long draggy dialogs or monologues and endless tears at the end, seemed to try to justify their positions in the story - even a heartless emperor and empress were made to look as pitiful. It was too artificial.
Even Daniel Wu's character failed to convince me that he was the rightful Crown Prince - his character was poorly displayed. Neither was Zhang Ziyi convincing as the selfish Empress. Sometimes, I found her facial expression failed to capture the mood of the moments. The Emperor was nothing like the Emperor in Hero, but he was the better acted out character, compared to the other 3 main characters.
I don't think many sympathize deeply for Qing. Her character was almost too comical/foolish to be taken seriously.
I love Zhang Ziyi. I was daring enough to believe that her presence in the film was supposed to be a 'quality-assured' film. I was wrong.
What was beautiful about the film was the synchronized 'training' between Daniel and Zhang's character. The fighting scenes were nothing like when they two were demonstrating their abilities.
