A Pleasant Surprise
13 March 2010
I was kind of expecting this to be another movie where my boyfriend would be laughing hysterically and I would be sitting there board and hoping this movie would just end already. I ,at first, was skeptical with the plot premise but as the movie went on I found myself chuckling quite a bit at a few scenes. I thought that this would be a raunchy gross out comedy but it was completely surprisingly a good movie. Some parts are a tad draggy and unnecessary to the plot of the movie but in all the humor is funny with a tidbit of raunchy, with great one liners. I won't give away anything but really it is a good movie, a date movie, and I think that most girls will appreciate it and enjoy it too.

Julie & Julia (2009)

Not the best
1 February 2010
I was so excited to see this movie that I begged and begged my boyfriend to rent this. Finally, I watch it. I will be honest, I was really surprised at how disappointed I was in this film. I love most of Nora Ephron movies, along with Streep and Adams who have acted well together before and counter each other very well. I think that this movie was a bit draggy. I understand that this film was taking place over the course of 365 days and that this was "real" life experiences. However, I found that Julie was turning into a character that I couldn't stand. I think that it is a great thing when people find something that they enjoy doing and sharing that experience with others. Julie's over enthusiasm seemed kind of boastful and arrogant. I won't spoil this film but to be honest, I was really disappointed. Of course the best part was Streep being Streep and at her acting best as the wonderful Julia Child. I loved the background story of Julia and how her cookbook became a part of America's cuisine! I love Julia Child , and I love Meryl Streep. I could have watched just Meryl being Julia!

Too Much Hype ....
26 December 2009
You know when you hear things like "the greatest horror film of the decade" you're hoping that maybe the film is going to scare you so much that you won't be able to sleep at night. To be truly honest, I have seen quite a few scary films in my day and this is not one that I would call "scary". There are parts of the film that may give you the chills or make you nervous but so scared that I couldn't sleep, not in the least bit. The idea of it being a documentary give the viewer of the film that you're watching a real life trails and tribulations of a disturbed young women, possibly possessed by the devil. Defiantly a movie that was entertaining but not the greatest horror film of the decade or any genre for that matter.
