The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping (2024)
Child Abuse is an Industry eh, Robert Lichfield?
I heard of this documentary on Joe Rogan's podcast #2148 when guest Gad Saad mentioned it. Fascinating and very disturbing that this has existed for so long and is still an industry today in 2024. The importance of this issue needs to reach as many people as possible. Perhaps Joe Rogan can have Katherine Kubler as a guest. Another criminal industry of child trafficking funded by the U. S. Government. How? Watch this documentary to learn how and be enraged. This three episode documentary is very well made. Katherine Kubler brings her survivor friends along this journey to tell the story of imprisonment, physical abuse and most importantly, life long lasting mental trauma. And, this is still going on today.
Sound of Freedom (2023)
We have to help the children!
We have to help! ...Years ago our neighbors daughter was fooled by a school "friend" and taken across the border from San Diego to Tijuana. A monumental effort with help of friends rescued her after she been tattoo-stamped and mere hours from being transported away to never be heard from again. Our friends daughter was very lucky to be rescued. Child Trafficking has been happening for many years and too many people don't want to acknowledge it. Finally, the Sound Of Freedom movie is here to communicate this despicable reality happening in our country, in every state and in our neighborhoods. Mentally ill persons, mainly men, who are the real monsters of children.
Their unmanageable sexual desire for children as young as babies, makes them inhuman monsters. And those persons which, for money alone, aid them in satisfying their insatiable cravings for innocent children are the monsters of monsters. The movie Sound Of Freedom is a reality which must be seen. "Than action to be taken. Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing." -John Stuart Mill.
I am only a regular citizen. I am not law enforcement. I have no means to act by which wealth would serve me. But I, a poor man, can afford the price of a movie ticket and help spread the word so others too can help. And one movie ticket price at a time can provide the financial aid to the hero's that tell the truth. I ask everyone to help in this small way while the movie is in theaters. Oh, and bring a kerchief. For good persons will cry.
Mindhunter (2017)
Checks all the boxes for "Great Series". Bring it back!
I first watched all episodes when it debuted and I've watched it over again. And again I'm rewatching it. I don't often revisit a series but, this show is just that good. This is such a well made series and checks all the boxes to captivate me. The only problem with this show is it stopped, but ended, with only two seasons. It's a shame that it all-too-often happens to great shows that the powers-that-be in hollyweird couldn't give a care about fans. It's always been and it will always be about money. Meanwhile, we suffer the fools. I hope someone with the resources and vision can return to the fans this great show.
Jeepers Creepers: Reborn (2022)
Lower rating than JC3? Now that's bad
Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2 are among my favorite horror movies. As is usually the case, all subsequent movies in a franchise just become comedy. It's sad. JC Reborn lacks all the things that made the first two movies great. Even the Creeper is poorly acted. The cast is not much better. The story had a chance by starting out prequel but, after leaving the past it loses its potential before segueing into the present. And how is it that the first two Jeepers Creepers (2001 & 2003) has much better CGI twenty years ago?! Too bad the Director didn't have the skill, motivation or money to make a movie that wouldn't be only memorable for just how bad it is.

The Man from Toronto (2022)
MAN FROM TONTO!
Tonto(tohn-toh) ADJECTIVE (not smart) a.stupid
If I could only time travel back 1hr 50min.
Fortunately movies aren't made with cellulose. It only take the press of a Delete key to put this trash where it belongs 🗑 . Although, the Fire 🔥 would be more exciting than this flick. Watch any episode of L&O SVU and cleanse your pallet.
Ambulance (2022)
Dronebulance
Michael Too-Much-Drone Bay. How did this crap get past the daily's. No plan. No disguises. Speak each other's real names out loud. Hey brother, long time no see. I'm about to go rob a bank, you wanna go? Stupid, stupid, stupid. Bank robbery in Los Angeles and the best line comes from the tough captain Monroe. "Lock it down! No one gets out!" Wtf?! It's L. A.!
Them (2021)
How can Skin color cause Hate
THEM is phenomenal. You are fully vested in interesting characters and a story horrifying in both realities. Very uncomfortable at times. Angering at others. How can human skin, which we all have create hatred simply due to shade. It's insane. Fortunately the supernatural horrors in the show distract us from reality horror of real-life racism. Will we ever have a world without the horror of racism? Yes, If we have a world without humans.
Freaky (2020)
1:42 of wasted time
Another movie where the trailer is better than the movie. It's predictable and disappointingly so. Incredibly there are reviews here giving a 9. Don't waste 1 hour and 42 minutes. Watch TV instead.
47 Meters Down: Uncaged (2019)
Blind Freshwater Great Whites?!
What a frustrating full-of-predictable cliches movie. Isn't the Director attending Daily's?! These four millennial high schoolers all know how to dive (of course) and all start 100% full tanks. Within minutes their down to 47% but, it takes more than 1/2 the movie to expend the rest. I call BS!!! An extreme disappointment to Johannes Roberts' first 47 meters.
The Intruder (2019)
Lazy writing strikes again
Fortunately I'm killing time on a Saturday afternoon relaxing half-asleep on the couch. It's the only way I watch this badly directed movie. So, before you sit or lay down to watch it, be sure you're sleeping.
The Hustle (2019)
Shoulda been called The Losers
Not even worth the download. A total waste of everyone's time.
Annabelle Comes Home (2019)
Just wanna hate Daniela
Every horror movie is filled with WTF moments. What are you doing?! Where is she going?! Why did she do that?! This movie sets the WTF record for me. Too many clichés.
The Curse of La Llorona (2019)
Mexican folklore; deserved better
With ticket prices in nice reclining seat Theaters at $17.49 in San Diego, this movie is definitely worth waiting for it to on Netflix or download. It's as if the writers don't have kids or families and have the children say and do things normal people don't. Mom sees La Llorona's finger burns on her son then daughters arm and both answer when asked what happened; "nothing". And it just goes on with absurd dialogue. Shame, because La Llorona is the most well known Mexican folklore story there is.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019)
Disappointing: Should have adapted Kevin Sullivan's book
For those of us who are interested in true crime, forensic files and Kevin Sullivan or Ann Rule's book, this movie fails to capture the horrific reality which is Ted Bundy. If this were made in cellulose, it would be a complete waste of film. It will be remembered for as long as it takes to press Delete. It's unfortunate that Zac Efron's and, other notable actors talents, were wasted on this project. There was so much potential for finally telling the best movie version of one of the most historic serial killers. And the insult to injury is that the director ensures to show the sex scene of Bundy while in prison while omitting each and every of the various murders he committed.
Halloween (2018)
Hopefully the very last
Pathetic. A dissappointment from the beginning. Jamie Lee is at her worst and, that's not saying much. We found ourselves saying (and likely you will too) "That's so stupid!", "Why would she do that?", "That just makes no sense", "That's just lazy directing". It's actually an insult to today's movie watchers to believe unimaginative and stale techniques would still work today. Perhaps a meeting with Jordan Peele would've helped Green. Sad :(
Blood Fest (2018)
Even if you have time to waste, stay away
One of those movies that steals your precious time that you can never get back. One review compared it to Cabin in the Woods. ABSOLUTELY NOT. I'm being generous with the 3rd star. Bad acting. Terrible. This is NOT a horror movie. If they spent $10k making it, that $9.99k too much
Jobs (2013)
Disappointing representation of the life of Steve Jobs
After reading Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson, I was hoping this film would be the screenplay of that book. Unfortunately, it is not. You would do better to watch the movie Pirates of Silicon Valley. Although, Ashton Kutcher did well to emulate Jobs, the directing and flow of the picture was condensed and patronizing. The meeting of the Markkula and Sculley put faces to the words from the book but, they were not the same persona's written by Isaacson. Ironically, the film seemed not to be ready for release as so many software products are. The beginning of the film is a blur of rapidly moving objects depicting times in Job's life and moving forward and past issues crucial to the development of this real life character and icon of the technological world. One would do themselves a great favor to read the autobiography first before watching this film.
