Just One of the Guys (1985)
Just One Of The Guys reincarnated 21 years later as She's The Man
This in my opinion may be the most underrated of all the 80's teen movies, also one of the best. It has comedy, drama, and romance all in one movie. The best thing about this movie is its simple and easy to relate too. At one time or an other all of us have come across the bully, the friend we consult with, the guy/girl we really like that we are good "friends" with, but for circumstances don't express are true feelings. Just an awesome movie that everyone should see. Let's fast forward 21 years to She's the Man. When I first heard this movie was coming out and would be a "remake" of Just One Of The Guys, I said oh no they will destroy this movie, and ruin the original idea behind the original film. Well I couldn't have been anymore wrong. She's The Man is just as good and enjoyable as the original one- with a modern update. This time the man character being a soccer player vs a newspaper writer. The movie is not an exact remake ,although it truly has all the charm and comedy of it predecessor. Both movies are are equally great.
Good Against Evil (1977)
not bad, now can we finishing filming the movie
This was not a bad effort. The movie was actually interesting and had some suspense to it. I first saw this movie years ago, and thought the TV station cut it off to go to other programming. Well I saw it again about a year later hence, that's it the movie abruptly ended without further explanation. Sort of like the director, cast, and crew just didn't show up again....and that was it. At least now I know it was suppose to be continued in a TV series. This too me is still the strangest ending, if you care to call it that, of anything i've ever seen to date. Memo to the director- maybe if you would have thought of an end , or better yet at least created one...you might have made it through say ... 2 weeks into the new season.
Reunion (2005)
lets end this misery soon
First thoughts very bad. The 6 high school actors-and yes that what i consider them -were about as lame as you can get. plot sounded promising through all the previews, but this show is on its way to a quick death. i cant see this dragging out 20 episodes.the characters are not very likable, there just so vanilla. maybe someone should have taken photo albums out from 86 and shown how to dress these misfits. you got to love too those 80's hairdos, yeah right. the other strike these 6 have against them is they only want to hang around each other 24/7. there i just solved the mystery-there's your motive-they got sick and tired of hanging around each other they started killing themselves off. maybe if were lucky by episode 5 the boring 6 will kill each other off, having to spare us the misery of watching this train wreck go any further. i feel bad for Matthew St Patrick, who is probably the only bright spot in this show.its a shame he has to go from a great show in six feet under to this....well i think i've said enough.
