A terrific movie
13 June 2006
This movie was great! The acting is outstanding. David Carridine was riveting. This was Charleton Heston's last major action movie. It has you on the edge of your seat until the very end. In particular, some unanticipated acts of altruism take your breath away. Stacey Keach plays a good part. The rest of the cast (all of whom are still alive today except for Christopher Reeve) are all very good. Do not pay any attention to the negative comments that others have left here. They simply do not make movies of this caliber very often, especially these days where everything is about sex and stupidity. This is a thinking man's movie, very realistic in a lot of respects and ahead of its time in others. I learned things and was entertained at the same time.

Surrender, Dorothy (2005 TV Movie)

I enjoyed it.

The movie held my interest, mainly because Dianne Keaton is my favorite actress. I disagree with some of the other posts on the grounds that the plot was not convoluted. I had no trouble following it (maybe some people had too much eggnog the night before). The movie was very sad and touching as well. What more do you want? Alexa Davalos is a fine new talent (beautiful too), and Tom Everett Scott does an excellent job with his part as well. The relationship of the mother and daughter may have been a bit unrealistic, but the behavior of the young people in the movie was not. It was tragically sad but enlightening. It sure beat the other shows that were on TV New Years Day evening

It was funny!

I laughed a lot at this film! I have always loved Richard Dreyfus, and Jenna Elfman plays her role in this movie with a Lucille Ball-like zaniness. Like Dreyfus she has the ability to play drama as well as comedy. I can't understand how some of the other reviews are so harsh. Maybe you need to know what to expect when you sit down to watch this movie. Don't try to take the story too seriously. For example, if you're an anthropologist in real life, don't try to compare it to reality. Separate yourself from your day job, and don't take the jokes personally. It is a wild and crazy movie that is no more about the real life field of anthropology than "Scrubs" is about medicine. Lighten up, have a beer, relax, and you will enjoy this movie. Slapstick comedy has its place in the entertainment field. Don't spoil it for the rest of us who still enjoy this genre.
