Fantastic Four (2005)
Fantastic Four = Fantastic Film!
I truly think this is the best comic book movie ever made and I'm not exaggerating. Everything in this movie gets exceedingly better as the film plays out. These are not only the most complex characters I've ever seen in a major super hero movie, they're a group of characters who are so well written and full of small, personal moments that they transcend their four-color origins and become living, breathing people whom have pasts, presents and futures. You really feel that they are a family and, by the end of the film, you feel like a part of that family. This is a remarkable feat for an origin film. It beats the first installment of any hero flick I can think of including Superman and Spider-Man.
Huge Thumbs Up!
Sin City (2005)
dumb violent video game movie and NOTHING more
I was disappointed with Sin City. I guess I'll call this the "Kill Bill effect" because for the life of me I just don't see what people like about this video game movie. It's just perverted reality where cheesy characters you don't care about slaughter each other. That's all this "movie" is. Giving it any more credit then that just isn't warranted.
These Sin City fanatics are delusional. Sin City is nothing more then a violent video game movie. Add black and white, bare breasts, decapitations and blood to Van Helsing and what you have is Sin City.
The only award Sin City personal should qualify for is the Razzie. I haven't seen a movie this dumb or this bad since Catwoman.
Coach Carter (2005)
uninspired, and in the same neighborhood as unnecessary
This film is just another entirely ponderous exercise in star power fizzling and prestige film-making gone pretentious. I didn't care for this movie in the least. If this crud makes $1 over its budget, The studio would be wise to declare victory, round up all available copies, store them deep within the nuclear waste repository under Yucca Mountain, and then never make another movie like it again. Coach Carter is a prime example of what happens when there's too little source material for a movie screenplay. The production as a whole is several notches below uninspired, and in the same neighborhood as unnecessary. Don't waste your time with this one.
Racing Stripes (2005)
Another soulless grab at parent's wallets
Unless you are eight years old, you'll find this movie to be dull and witless. It's just another blatant grab at kiddy box office dollars and at parent's pocketbooks. I didn't care for this movie in the least. It engaged more in the visuals then trying to make a point throughout the entire movie. No one even reacted well to the CG. In other words, it has no feeling or no depth and felt like you are watching a "making of" featurette even though you were watching the film itself. I hate myself for having gone against my better judgment. Waste of Money Waste of Time Waste of Film Are you getting it? If you're over 14 years old, this will not be entertaining.
Elektra (2005)
See this movie, you wont be disappointed.
This movie was crazy! It combined great story and acting with top notch special effects and fight scenes. Jennnifer was perfect as Elektra and the critics clearly don't know what they are talking about. The villains, though slightly undeveloped, are fascinating and very cool with their unique and spectacular powers. Elektra kicks some major ... butt. Jennifer Garner does her own stunts and she deserves much more credit than the critics give her. This movie is a definite must see. If you don't like this movie, something is certainly wrong. Elektra is simply AMAZING. O, and the villain Typhoid Mary isn't to bad her self. She also can deal out some pain. See this movie, you wont be disappointed.
