I watched the movie in a theater and bought the ticket for about 2.5$, not knowing anything about it. I'm impressed with Thai and Indonesian horror movies, this one is not an exception.

I don't want to spoil the plot, so I'd say it has more than a possessed item storyline. The movie also tells the story following the sides of each of the two protagonists, explaining certain things and situations in detail.

It's an amazing movie overall and feels like a blockbuster - great CGI, editing and soundtrack, believable acting, etc.

It feels like the team and director respect the viewer, while I can't say it's something super new for the genre, it's definitely really well made and just feels quaility.

A cute and warm comedy horror movie. It's more like a sketch show rather than a horror anthology. It's not really funny, but it's interesting to watch and acting was quite...lively. The hamster scenes are really great, too.

It looks like it was supposed to be more than just your average horror sequel and it has a drama plot line which deals with a heavy subject. This plot line is a main reason to watch the movie, plus for the main lead, she is a great actress.

The horror part is beyond stupid and overcliched. And the "monsters" (called just "evil spirits") just really do "BO!!!" in the camera, like some children trying to scare each other on the night in the summer camp.

It also has some really awkward comedy elements for some reason and an abrupt sugary ending in spirit of Scooby-Doo episodes.

It looks like they made two versions of the credits sequence and they...used both. It looks awkward as well, but I understand why they wanted to show both since both of look great and interesting, especially the one before the final credits.

Actually a decent thriller. The honey theme is not that common in movies, but overall it brings nothing new to the table, an obligatory twist ending is included as well. But it's filmed nicely and overall made in a way that it engages you to watch it fully. The main lead is cute and her acting is great, she also makes this movie memorable. All male characters are really disgusting, though.

A psychological thriller / leftist propangda movie about a downfall of an ultra-liberal white American man.

The man is unemployed, he but doesn't care about that since he believes he's working on a very important documentary movie. Yet his samely ultra-liberal American wife doesn't like the fact that he doesn't bring the money and they're already starting a family. There's almost nothing happening during the whole movie and this is one you can get through skipping parts. But the acting is good and cinematography is nice, plus it's not that boring to watch (especially if you start skipping through it).

As for the leftist propaganda, they're a bit obsessed with hating Donald Trump in this movie. Calling him names while watching his speech on the TV, using a mask of him to scare each other, etc. And of course all that message about capitalism, America's past / future and such. He talks almost nothing but politics and propaganda.

It's actually an OK possession / exorcism movie for the most part, until the ending. In the ending, the quality drops down significantly - idiotic cumbersome fight along with amateur editing, really poor visual effects with samely poor camera work. Not to mention the ridiculous ending scene.

I don't know what happened, but until that point it was a decent indie movie with great casting, good acting and some memorable scenes (like the sex scene). Seems to be one of these many, many indie movies whose creators just can't end their movies so they come with something fast and just call it a day.

An extremely average horror movie which is full of all the typical cliches and tropes. The acting is servicable, some is bad. There's a confusion about it being slightly "found footage", the footage from the in-movie camera and the movie itself is the same, it's especially confusing then the film in a "standard" mode with shaky hands up close, like it's a "found footage" one (the scene with the pool).

The main characters are a gang of your typical muscline American college alpha males, there's no absolutely nothing even remotely interesting about them. The ghosts always use the same teleportation teleportation technique in order to "BOO" the viewer. Sigh.

I thought it was going to be your average horror movie, but it's absolutely not. It's a very heavy drama which deals with such themes as horrors of the motherhood, mental illness and rape. All of this and a paranormal element on top of it which references genocide in concentration camps during Anglo-Boer War in 1901.

The horror scenes are terrifying and very effective. The actors' performances are excellent and add a lot to the overall heavy atmosphere.

This one is marked as a horror about Bigfoot, yet in reality the creature itself only appears in the very end and the whole movie is more like a drama about some sort of a love triangle (or 2.5angle). A girl which lives in Chigaco decides to pay a visit to her mother who lives in a rural hometown and brings her boyfriend there. They go to a bar where she meets an old friend from her childhood, who's apparently very eager to romance and "steal" her from her boyfriend (alpha male bullshit and such). All of them together plus an additional friend of that alpha male decide to go on a Big Foot hunting trip, because that's where they were doing when they were kids (nostalgia and such).

The great actors, natural and fluid dialogues and good camera work mix into a one big vehicle which drives the whole movie forward and you along with it. The characters are not some made up cardboard work, many of them actually reminded me people from real life I know (and Annie herself reminded me of the girl with the same name) and I'm not even an American. Absolutely not a fan of this "love 2.5angle" story, but still watched it because of the mentioned great actor work and dialogues.

The appearance of yeti kinda looks awkward, the makeup is alright, but everything else is not, really. In motion and with such editing it's just looks like a man in a costume runs in front of a camera. It supposed to be a heavy beast, yet it has the ability to appear "out of nowhere" behind everyone and its steps are, apparently, silent (really, there are the sounds?).

If you only want a yeti movie, I wouldn't recommend to watch it. But if you don't mind something else with a yeti included, then why not.

A mess, but an interesting one. Deliberately confuses you all the time right until the end, which looks quite cumbersome and unnecessary, because some plot lines seem to be existing just for the sake of it. The motivations are extremely weak, the events make barely any sense. But it also has that 2007-2008 DVD atmosphere (especially with its Facebook clone, chats and and mobile texting) and somewhat engaging to watch. It probably shouldn't work, but it does.

Previously called "Scroll Down" (as revealed in the credits), but seems the name was changed due to the uprising of IPhones of the time.

It's based on the original movie with same title, which itself is based on true events. Three layers of meta or so, since the characters here know and watch the 1976 movie, with the killer repeating the scenes. Unlike the 1976 movie, this one feels much more engaging and fresh - not just because of the intriguing story which keeps you on the edge guessing who is the killer, but also because of the visuals. It has some creative camera work which greatly adds to the overall atmosphere. The director from Spain was the right choice, because in case with some American horror director they most likely would make yet another boring by-the-book reboot.

The main heroine is a way too lightheaded and naive though.

Not as engaging as Rec series, not as interesting either. This is a quite frivolous dramatization of supposedly real (???) case happened in Madrid back in 1991.

There are some visually interesting scenes (the camera showing the "cross" between building parts or background people walking backwards were the most memorable), but overall it's a pretty standard picture with your typical Hollywood cliches ("screamers", ridiculous crawling scenes, etc.). The movie actually morphs into a parody on itself because of two very ridiculous scenes in the middle of it. I get that it's a "homage" to old 60/70s movies, but it's executed in a way which harms the movie and the atmosphere it built.

The score is nice (and of course it's retrowave), but it's just there and that's it, entirely forgettable.

A decent Battle Royal/Saw-like thriller (what would be a proper way to call such movies?), which starts on a very high note but its ending is too chaotic and cumbersome - there's an aftermath part which looks like they tried to tell a whole sequel just in 10 minutes (still overusing slo-mo).

It brings nothing new aside from a few minor elements, like head cameras, the thing which the movie got its name from. But they are barely being used here for the very sake of watching. There are many very technologic things scattered among the battlegrounds and the cameras show the percentage of survival odds. Some noticeable plot holes: the trap with nails is presented as something very hard and they say that the "nice" team were the only ones who completed it yet the second team of "bad" and much dumber degenerates walk through it like it's nothing and the movie tells nothing about how they did that. The showrunners also seem to track if the participant is alive or not, yet when someone wakes up after being "dead" (just unconscious) they're surprised.

The characters are very dumb and two dimensional, especially the main heroine. Her transformation to the person wee see in the end is absolutely not believable. The acting is so-so, I don't know, maybe Americans really behave like that in such situations, I wouldn't be surprised.

Great camera work and really great special effects, the first killing scene looks very real, the rest ones look decent as well.

The little soundtrack it has sounds good, the credits theme being the most noticeable. Even music in the club scene is a nice atmospheric techno which is better than the stuff you usually hear they use in such scenes. But they also use Shubert's Ave Maria here and they do it TOO OFTEN, and most of the time it doesn't really fit or starts too early.

This one would benefit from being filmed in a traditional way rather than being a found footage flick, believability is close to zero - cuts masked as "digital interference / glitches", super HD quality from the "hidden" cameras, not to mention very known Hollywood actors being here. TV scenes are done amateureshly in a way that you clearly see it's just someone on the green screen cut out with some additional lines in After Effects, it doesn't feel like real TV footage at all.

But everything else is actually great - the movie is engaging and interesting to watch and it's definitely not a dragging one, actors do a good job (William Salder and John Heard take the cake with their charisma), the visual effects are great. The ending is not on that level though - a lot of very stupid and convenient things happenning, like when some characters demonstrate sudden weakness and stupidity after showing ultrasuperpowers and showing capability to think ahead of your opponent (not to mention they should already know something about the things the crew has, can't go into details because it would be spoiler, but it should be a pretty obvious plot hole).

Aside from some really stupid moments, like the awkward interview with the director in the beginning (which somehow makes the actress say that he is SMART and she's very confident about him/the project) or the ending itself (it wouldn't look as stupid if it wasn't presented in such a clumsy way), it's a decent meta-horror movie about a movie crew, who are really just a bunch of maniacs, killing the actors they choose to film. Some of the parts though are so wooden and too convinient, you wait it would be shown as a movie footage, but then they show that these are the "real" events (like the episode with the officer, very convenient arrival of the policeman and killer appearing out of nowhere). The character motivations are also pretty weak, too many killers and it's too obvious that such isolation from the world is definitely not about "concetrating on the work".

The special effects are well, effective. They sure did a lot of work on that, otherwise fake looking special effects would ruin the movie since it's about what's fake and what's not.

Overall a good rental watch if you don't think too much about it (swiss cheese it is, at least there aren't many holes).

I watched the first movie back in a day, but I don't remember it anymore, although they flashback some scenes from it in the sequel to remind what the first one was about. It's an absolutely unnecessary continuation which tries to go global this time, a "Red Room" virus goes widespread and so it's already a post-apocalypse - no laws, lone survivors, killers and rapists, battles for gasolines, etc. It feels like the script was written for something epic, but there was no budget to support it. So for the major part of the movie they chose to resort to one barebone looking location, quite boring and uninspired one.

Whatever it looks, there could be an interesting story to tell with characters, who could at least have a bit of depth. But no. The characters here are really dumb and flat, they even use the mad scientist cliche, this time combined with a cliche cult.

Not to mention how ridiculous the story is - it was made by people who have no idea about techonologies. The social network zombifies you when you look at its pages...OK. But social network which creates some black worms inside a person is essentially jumping the shark. There's also a child who is supposed to look like he's 3 years old, but instead looks like a 12yr one - because he somehow has some mega powers which he got from...somewhere. The script is a mess with too many holes, it starts with woman from the cult being in the same area as the main heroine, exactly in the time when she is supposed to give birth. And of course she kidnaps the baby. Many years later they both end up meeting somehow, like they're going in circles.

The more you think about the movie, the more you realize how dumb and ridiculous it is. Yet it's somewhat atmospheric and engaging enough to watch to the end, which makes it a really hesitate rental recommendation.

Very average low budget movie about Census Agency agent stuck in your typical American rural town with crazy locals keeping their secrets, where sheriff just says "we have our own laws here". This one has a permanent population number of 436, hence the title. The origins of the mystery behind it are explained poorly and sound absurd (also, what "wicked man"?). You get the feeling "I watched all these scenes somewhere already and know all these dialogues" while watching the movie, all the cliches and dumb decisions are there.

What's the real mystery is how Fred Durst ended up here, who plays a deputy sheriff. It's actually his only role in the movie which he didn't direct himself (not counting TV series). I didn't know about his involvement with the production of this film and seeing him here was a surprise.

It's an OK rental if you have nothing else to watch, it actually feels looks and feels like a TV movie. The orchestral soundtrack is pleasant to listen.

A post-apocalyptic movie about two brothers travelling through the country on the car, which makes them very noticeable since working cars are very rare and everyone wants it.

Weak story, but captivating visuals and memorable direction. Every character is dumb and an asshole, aside from the doctor, who is just dumb but at least not a complete garbage like all others. Her motivation to live in such a city with such neighbors is really, really questionable. Overall, it's pretty much almost an arthouse movie, the events don't make much sense but the way they're presented makes them interesting to watch and memorable, with the fitting atmospheric score making them more effective. The cast is really great, especially the town villains - really psychotic and dangerous.

I don't know what's in the heads of those who said it tries to be like Tarantino, it's just a complete lie. I watched all Tarantino movies, Drifter is nothing like them at all. It much more closer to the movies like Hobo With a Shotgun - grimdark post-apocalypse with specific coloring and mood.

A decent British horror about some chaps hiking in Sweden, different enough to be engaging, although is fairly standard. The Romanian forests (which they chose over the Swedish ones probably because it was cheaper to film there) are a great fit for such movie and nature surroundings add a lot to the overall atmosphere. The chemistry between characters feels natural and the things they discover in the forest are unsettling and genuinely creepy.

The incident shown in the beginning is a great motivational point in the story which explains why they ended up in Sweden, but instead of leaving it as it is in the beginning and inevetably returning to bringing it up in the dialogues, they re-use the very scene to death throughout the movie, pointing all the lights at it again and again.

The forced stupid happy ending harms this movie a lot, a very stupid and unlikely resolution.

One word (OK, two) to describe this film: "super convenient". Everyone is way too connected and all events are way too convenient, with the twists being over the top and just not making sense even more. The twist in the ending is simply stupid, unlikeable and sugary, existing to please the audience. There's also a strong feel of everything being staged on the scene, the sense of the very script. And of course there are many usual tropes and predictable events, during the watching I was saying what will be coming next - and there it was, like I said.

It's still a quality Hollywood movie: great filming, great acting, and especially the great editing. It's also not dragging, despite being almost a two hour movie. By the time it was over I thought the movie was about 56 min in and there's something more.

However, nevermind the tired tropes and ridiculous twists, the most surprising thing about this movie is the inclusion of O Yujki Conjugate track in the soundtrack which has about five songs. OYC it's an obscure ambient British band and how their track ended up in a Hollywood movie with first class actors is truly a mystery, especially considering the low number of music tracks used.

Amazing, as engaging and fresh as Pontypool. I watched countless indie horror / thriller / sci-fi movies, but never seen something like this one. The concept of haunted book is nothing new (Evil Dead and such), but here it's done in a different way.

The cast is great, although Clayton looks too young to be a father for a 18 year old girl. Williams B.Davis is spot on, too bad he doesn't have much on-screen time.

An average, but still interesting Spanish take on found footage. But the chosen genre is actually where it fails - believebality starts as so-so, then they just throw it out of the window, especially with some joke elements of the story being introduced (which essentially make the fun of it). And the way the end scenes were filmed...yeah...like it's a staged TV show rather than found footage.

The story is relatively interesting to follow, the characters are nothing interesting, but at least they're not your typical robotic and overcliched Americans you usually see in horror movies. Their motivations to stay in an obviously haunted hospital are very weak, despite the contract being the reason (the medium decides to walk away then with just some irrelevant talk with one of the others decides to stay again and then very sure about it all of the sudden).

It still manages to be creepy and the visual effects are good.

Unlike some other capture/torture movies which focus more on torture than anything else (like an extremely overrated The Loved Ones), this one is mostly about revenge and capturer making a point. In this case one pretentious rich asshole proving another asshole what he doesn't deserve to call himself a restaraunt critic. Practically all characters in the movie are assholes except the critic's wife, so you just wish both of male leads just kill each other in some assholish 1-vs-1 standout.

It's a decent thriller with the actual story and it's interesting enough to watch it at least once. The ending is not believable, but made so for the quite ironic scene.

The morons from big city arrive to the cabin near the town full of moronic rednecks, there they get flesh eating bacteria from some of the locals. American ultra dumb teenagers, sex, alcohol, gore, US suburbs, country music - it's all there.

I'd describe it as a typical Eli Roth movie. It's pretty dark on the surface and full of gore, but also has completely ridiculous moments which make it a parody of itself. And while the "pancakes" is probably something of a on-set joke which made it to the script, the ending is just...yeah. The vibe of 1000 Maniacs is becoming stronger towards the end and the level of ridiculousness getting higher.
