Stripperland (2011)
Bad script bad jokes
I'm all for a good parody but this one is just terrible the punchlines seem obvious. Maybe it could've been saved a little bit of star power (unless you count Daniel Baldwin yawn) but this movie really has none. It also makes no sense to make fun of a movie that was making fun of zombie movies in the first place that seems a waste of time. I'd rather watch zombie strippers which is much more funnier than this and had a funnier ideas at least and star power.
Mangiati vivi! (1980)
Was rubbish
I'm sorry they just overlayed the Jim Jones thing with a bunch of nonsense with including cannibals. There was no character depth whatsoever in this story and the brainwashing concept was completely unbelievable. There really was no horror in this movie other than the cruelty to the animals which was completely sickening. The music scores that sounded like something out of the 1970s made it even worse. Just a waste of 90 minutes.
Ski School (1991)
Misygonistic tripe
This movie was just complete nonsense. Felt like something you'd watch in the 80s ripping off ideas from movies like porkys and the likes. It really bothered me the most that they're skiing in the mountains and yet at the lodge there are absolutely no signs of snow on the streets or anywhere else. I mean come on. Also had a problem with the scene of the team just trying to qualify to get to the final race. The contact cement was terrible I mean it was yellow and absolutely noticeable to an idiot! No one's gonna notice the competition stuck to it when they tripped? Really??? Or the ski flags being cut wouldn't noticed? Especially with so many people watching the event? Come on! And don't even get me started that every woman was ready to go to bed was the first guy she saw. This movie was just so poorly written and was not even entertaining. Just a waste of film if you ask me.
Doctor Sleep (2019)
Wasn't impressed with this at all!!
Honestly I didn't feel connected to this movie at all. I love Ewan McGregor but I just felt that the Direction of this movie seem to be a mosh posh of trying to connect previous Stephen King novels and movies under different sub genres. To me it felt like they were trying to mesh the tone of characters from The Shop from the movie Firestarter (using the original film here with Drew Barrymore and George C Scott) and underlying tones of sleepwalkers together which really made no sense at all. Especially when you come to think that sleepwalkers really had nothing to do with the shining whatsoever. The movie lacked momentum to be honest for me and it felt like more of a....and this happened and this happened in this happened in this happened situation. I realized that Stephen King did not like Kubrick's interpretation but it cannot be ignored the perpetual depth that Kubrick also gave to the original shining. Also the link didn't make it any easier to watch between making the villains more vampiric in this film more so like the sleepwalkers I mentioned before instead of making them more of the spirits they were in the original film Who just fed on the negative energy of a disturbed individual like Jack Terrance in the original. I struggled just to get through to the end.
Also didn't really care for the Holleran appearance either. While I'll give the new actor props for trying to get the character right as that is a big shoes to fill covering Scatman Crothers original role, the character itself made no sense in this film because it should be tied back to the overlook hotel along with the other undead who reigned there. After all he was killed in the hotel in the original movie and his spirit should reside there. I don't know I was just seemed like this movie tried too hard without really drawing in the suspense that I expected from the novel and book of the original idea.
101 Dalmatians (1996)
Suprizingly a good remake
I remember when this came out in theatres I was a little skeptical being a huge fan of the Disney original but after watching it I will say glen close played a spot on version of cruela deville. the movie really followed the storyline of the original quite well and was entertaining by the great cast they used to keep the theme of the original. I actually found myself watching it a few times even with my kids and was happy to see for once that a remake didn't just go with the flow but put some heart in the film that make a realistic remake for once fit the same likability as the original. Definitely one I would watch again and again and recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the Disney classic!
The Ring (2002)
Pathetic excuse for horror
Absolutely unbelievable more and nothing really creepy about it at all just a bunch of psychobabble about some those running around terrorizing found it more of a sleeper film than anything horror involved. Its almost like the writers were stretching for a plot and couldn't quite grasp how to draw the viewer into it including me. After about 30 min of this film I really found the only horrific part about it was it wasn't over yet. Even the draw up to find out the reasoning for the terror occurring was more of a huge disappointment a complete waste of time. This film was more of a one time watch and never again I have better things to do then waste my time with garbage like this again.
