I decided to give it a go and try watching this movie with my family...and i just don't understand why people making a fuss about this movie... first of all screenwriting can do better... should hire someone who is actually good in doing scriptwriting ... Shamsul Yusuf should just stick to directing... you don't need to show that you can do everything but the outcome is like those tv malay drama series.......

the transition between scenes is just mediocre... its like you watching a snippet of scenes and end up gluing it together... there is no continuity on the entire movie .... jumping all over here and there....

The shaky camera works should be less.. you should learn by watching from the experts like steven spielberg's "private ryan" or any from paul. Greengrass films...oh and the kicking and puching sound during the martial arts silat sequence should be more realistic...not some recycle sound from your old KL gangster film.... lousy sound.

Should hire a proper sound designer and a good foley artist....

oh and the set designer should do more proper study on the surroundings... for example there is a scene where the landscape is showing the people doing the. Gold panning and it shows the tent is all so clean and so white.... bear in mind that scenes is at a gold mining area with all the muds etc but yet the tent is so clean.... and even the villagers costume as well as the Mat kilau crew is using a well clean , iron straight from the boutique quality..... does not feel that the villagers are living in poverty.....

the ending scene is like you suddenly realize that you are running out of money and just simply cut short the film.. there is no proper ending/ summary to this film.... even the character of Captain Syers by Geoff Andre Feyaerts during the final retreat scene is not properly develop...should develop showing the frustration / or the vengeance feeling towards the rebels and showing his vows to come again if there is any plan to do a sequel.........

i left the cinema with WTF!!! Why people say it is an awesome movie... i have seen better malay films......

if there is a sequel shamsul yusof should and.studio kembara should do more proper study and not some so so film like this.

A Malaysian reviewer here. Screening on the 24th April 2019 and All i can say it is a behemoth undertaking compiling 21 or so films, expanding over 11 years of MCU phase 1 and phase 2 universe. How the heck are they going to pull this off? Questions arise and questions being answered with a 3 hour long movie. Its a good solid 3 hour marvel movie.

A good slow pace on the first part showing human vulnerability on superheroes. Even superheroes need emotional support from someone. Its is nice to see Hawkeye got some good character scene compared to his last/ previous involvement.

Second part comes the built up whereby it is fun to see how they interact with previous marvel films. (note to those don't follow MCU universe) You really need to see few previous marvel films to understand further what i am talking about.

The Third act is the final act whereby the brothers did a terrific job giving what fans wanted. An awesome (+/-)45 minutes battle that exceed my expectation. Crazy visual effect/ CGI . Such an eye candy to see on the big screen.

All i can say this movie is well worth the 11 years of waiting and the screenwriters and directors did very well in showing off the maturity of marvel MCU films. It is like having all favorite songs and compile it as your greatest hits. This is how endgame felt like to me. It is just so freaking awesoommeeeeeeeeeee

Overall it is a good try in showing off our Malaysian elite special forces team. Just to highlight that some scenes in the movie is a bit similar to the opening scenes in Dante Lam's epic war movie-Operation red sea.. dont belive me, try see the movie. Its an early year 2018 movie. Even the introduction of the character in Paskal is almost the same as this operation red sea movie.

anyways, a lot of Malaysian enjoyed watching this movie and congratulations in making this movie a stepping stone for other Malaysian movie to follow .

After much persuasion from my kids, insisting to watch this movie ever since the first day the film is released, I finally give it a go and took them yesterday at gsc Melawati mall. Have you ever notice certain malay films they started of with a grand scale filled with tons of great scenes and the balance ¾ of the films just lays flat. I notice that in most of mamat khalid's film. He did a great job with a nice Arial view of the river and comedic performance by the actors delivered strongly on the first 20-30 minutes. I absolutely love every scenes from Mr ropie Cecupak in that first 30minutes. Holy crap he even reminded me about the long time television commercial jingle for a juice company. Funny fella. The broken English he uses kept me laughing. The rest of the thespians also do justice in their roles but not as outstanding as Mr ropie.

It is not a must see movie, you still have other options to see it afterwards unless you have a lot of free time to spare, then go see lah. Congratulations on the producers and director on collecting millions in profit from the many malays that you have suck and seduce into your Hantu Kak Limah movie realms.

If mamat khalid is reading this review, ill bet you are a very happy person now. Please don't forget to contribute this movie profit into your zakat payments ya...hehehe

Went to see this movie on Saturday here in Malaysia and surprisingly i end up liking this movie a lot. The film is directed in such away that it reminds me of the 80's and early 90's action flick. Less special effect and more straight forward shoot em up. kinda like the same feeling when you watch the first jack reacher film. old school style of action. Bruce Willis portrays the tormented Dr Kersey very well and i just like his transition from being a loving family man to a bad ass angel of death. Overall it is a joy seeing Bruce willis back to his old school type of action and not some over the top Live Free Die Hard or A good day to die Hard type of flick. He's too old to make ridiculous stunts like that anymore.

Thumbs up for Eli Roth for choosing suitable actors and actresses and directing this movie in a well balance action and drama.

I was torn between Black Panther and Badang when my family and i started queuing for our family's movie day out. Sadly most of the seats are taken for black panther and we end up buying the tickets for badang. There are few times in life that you will make a big mistakes and you will suffer for it over the years. I have already made one of these mistakes by watching this mediocre idiotic movie. What amaze me is this movie is directed by a Professor in a very recognized university. A film school professor. If i could fast forward the movie until the end using a remote , i would be delighted to do so. It is just so bad. My childhood tv series , the dubbed malay version of space cop gaban is way better than this movie...heck even the sesame street tv show is way better.

The special effect is badly done. It is like hiring some kid who just learn how to use the Adobe After effect software.

the acting.... Dato Sri Aliff? better stick to your whatever LAJAK LAris stuff that you are selling.

Due to the movie bad scripting, special effect, costume, acting and what ever the hell they are thinking during making of this movie; i end up realizing how much time i could save and do something useful in my life.

Thanks to this lousy movie, i end up spending one hour 40 minutes in the cinema thinking about how to improve my quality of life....

Saw this flick in Malaysian theater and i just have to tell you guys that this is one of the worst tony jaa flick... I just cant feel the awesomeness power of tony jaa in this movie... Ongbak 1,2,3 , the first protector is 3-4 times better compared to this movie... I am assuming that the producers and director are experimenting with their CG and 3D format technology. Too much CG really spoil the action scenes. I love the originality of his previous films... reminds me of the early Jackie Chan flick...no CG pure stunts.... There is one scene involving a couple of motorcycles on a roof top and i think this is way to ridiculous to accept...the stunt guys seems to have difficulty to control their motorcycle and again it is just so painful to watch. Don't get me started with RZA final scene with the elephant....

why oh why do they have to experiment with special effect on this movie. I was hopping it would be a good film just like what keanu reeves did in man of tai chi.....plain fun good action...

Im hoping tony jaa still can kick Ass in the upcoming fast and furious 7.

try to avoid this film if you are hoping for a good fight scenes..there is none.

Went to see the movie on 14th September here in Malaysia and I really can't say much about this movie except that it could have been a better movie if the KRU brothers could have a couple of more millions to spend on this film. The storyline is interesting portraying the god ThoR as the main enemy...I wonder what's Chris hemsworth think about this bad version of Thor. From the main characters to the supporting cast I fell that they are lacking of charisma and energy in this Viking flick. Probably all the fake wig disturbing their acting skills. hehehe. i love Dominic Purcell in prison break and killer elite but it seems that I don't feel the energy or the charisma that he portrays in this movie. Jon foo is lousy in his fake mandarin and his fighting scenes are average compared to his Tekken movie which is cool in its own way. Some of the set design are better of stay inside a school Theather production. It's like one of those early P Ramlee movies. Overall i do have to tell you that this is a good start for A Malaysian film company to show what they can offer to the international movie community. Kudos to the Kru brothers.
