Dr. Ken (2015–2017)
6/10
It's watchable
25 November 2016
Dr. Ken is a family show that focuses on the life of a Korean-American doctor. Ken has a wife Allison, who is Japanese-American and a therapist. They have have 2 kids, the typical teenage daughter and the smart odd young son. The show is about Ken's family life and his work life, in both he's a bit clueless to things.

I would say this show is passable, it's nothing you'll be very excited to watch, but it's something you can watch. The problem is there's nothing fresh to the show, besides the fact that it's culturally mixed, which is great. But it's not very funny, the writing is basic, and the delivery on acting is just okay.

The cast and characters are great, but the writing is too weak and it doesn't seem like there's much effort in making the show. The actors are fine, just needs better production and writing.

Speechless (2016–2019)
8/10
One of my Fav New Shows
24 November 2016
Speechless isn't overwhelmingly good, but it's definitely a above average show. This is a show about a dysfunctional family with a son (JJ) who has cerebral palsy. They are mostly a shameless family and not at all conventional, which makes for some pretty funny scenes. They recently just moved into a pretty beat up house, in a new town, in order to give JJ a better education. This is a show that always deliveries good laughs and not the cheesy stuff. I really love the blend of characters in this show, they are each unique in a special way. I also love the fact that the family isn't typical, they aren't high middle class and don't have a fancy looking house. The family is kinda a more rough version of the Hecks on the Middle. The writing is pretty good and it's fun to watch. This is a show that's better than your typical comedies like: Kevin can Wait, Dr.Ken, Mom, The Odd Couple etc.

This Is Us (2016–2022)

Best show on TV right now
23 November 2016
This is such a amazing show and definitely something special and new. The show follows the lives of 3 siblings all born the same day, in the present and the lives of their parents (their childhood) in the past. Each sibling is dealing with their own personal issue. As the show goes on, you learn many new aspects of each character. The way it's written there are so many twists and turns, it keeps you wanting more. It's real, heart felt, funny, and serious. I love that it's so far from typical, it's not your typical family show, with the typical characters. I also love that it tackles issues like: obesity, race, drugs, parenting, sibling relationships, relationship issues. I find it great to see a show that has characters struggling with weight and not making a joke of it, and featuring a black family, without making un-tasteful black jokes or doing stereotypical black characters.

Eyewitness (2016)
9/10
This is definitely a much watch
21 November 2016
Eyewitness is one of the best things on TV I would say. It's not something that has a lot humor and if you can't watch drama, probably not your show, which is okay. However, it's not a show that is gonna make you depressed to watch. It has a very good story line and plot, it is not simply just about Philip and Lukas witnessing the murder and struggling with not being able to tell, mostly because of Lukas being paranoid of people finding out he's gay. There are many plot lines in this, like a ex FBI agent (now Philip's foster mom and sheriff in a small town), a FBI agent with a sister in serious trouble, and of course the killer. So you aren't just seeing things from Lukas and Philip's eyes. The writing is not predictable and you will be surprised and entertained.

This isn't a show that is in poor LGBT taste, there aren't any gay stereotypes in this.

This cast is really great, despite the fact that most of these actors aren't known. everyone on the show does a amazing job, I really love what the actors who play Philip and Lukas are doing.

Black-ish (2014–2022)
9/10
Great family show, not about race.
4 October 2014
Despite what many people are saying about Blackish, it is not a racist show and it is not even a show about race. It is in fact a family show and it is a family show about culture. In the first episode it does come off as too, but by the end it comes off in a good way, many people must not have watched or didn't finish. Despite that, it delivers great laughs all through the way. The 2nd episode was more of a representation of what the show really is, which is a family show. The second episode again delivers the laughs, but it does it in a very creative and fresh way, and it also did not use anything racial at all. For obvious reasons people will not give this show a chance and they really should. Blackish is a funny and creative show, about family and culture. This successful family is living in the suburbs and adopting that culture, to the dismay of the father. Its laughs all the way through, as these parents, try to be great parents, not so much on culture, but family.
