X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
A bit boring. Huge shocker, I expected this one to be good.
I went into this movie with high expectations so that may be the reason why I wasn't at all impressed with this film. The action was bland, short and just seemed like everything we've already seen before. The truly only great part of this movie was the scene with quicksilver and that was a really short piece of the movie. Once that scene was over the rest of the movie became this huge bore. I go to a movie like this with the usual expectation of seeing something "new".. well I was let down.
The majority of the movie was completely boring. There were only a few scenes of very mediocre action and it just seemed like they did not put a lot of effort into this movie.
Non-Stop (2014)
Good movie.
I enjoyed the movie. It's been quite a while since I've been capable of watching an entire movie from start to finish without giving in to boredom. This movie keeps your attention and allows you to escape reality for a bit.
Nearly all of the movie takes place on board an airplane so there isn't any eye candy. There is just enough action and it's not over done, which can be refreshing.
There are good hand-to-hand combat scenes and plenty of suspense. It's an enjoyable flick and I felt it deserves a 9 simply because the movie made me want to watch it by providing me with a proper amount of entertainment along the way and it had a great pace.
Gravity (2013)
A beautiful view of absolute terror.
I couldn't imagine what it must feel like to be lost in space but after watching this film I have a much better understanding of the sheer terror of possibly taking your last breath while the rest of the human race enjoy the planet that is floating in front of you. There is no place like home.
Amazing sounds, visuals and anyone with an imagination will be watching this on the edge of their seat fueled with wonderment and emotion.
3-D is usually so-so but in this movie the 3-D "gimmick" shines in all it's glory and actually enhances every second of this amazing movie.
It gets a 10 simply because of the ending.. it makes you think about how amazingly special we are to be capable of being here.
