Not worth anyone's time
2 May 2024
Not only this show not worth our time to watch; the final product isn't worth the time everyone put into making this garbage. Moss's character is laughably unbelievable as a supposed human lie detector/master manipulator/international woman of mystery. Moss has talent but is a terrible casting choice for this poorly written, completely unrealistic character. The other characters are so broadly and lazily written that they are all practically caricatures- the jokes about various stereotypes fall completely flat as the characters themselves are written as total stereotypes. The script is odd and many of the acting choices are puzzling, with this almost at times verging into a "buddy terrorist" (à la "buddy cop") adventure. The subject matter, while advertised like it's some new, groundbreaking, innovative content, is reductionist, regurgitated drivel. We can't do any better than the same crappy anti-terrorism schtick that's already been done to death? This project doesn't have one iota of creativity or originality and has absolutely nothing new to say. Do yourself a favor and skip it.

An epic tale of badassery
13 November 2023
This is easily one of the best shows I've seen in all of 2023. It has all the making of a masterpiece: the story is interesting, as are the characters' backstories; the characters themselves are complex and flawed in compelling ways; the art is gorgeous; the voice acting is on point. I binged this whole thing on a Saturday because I just couldn't bring myself to stop watching it. I was legitimately upset when it was over because I so wanted to be able to continue following the story. I will be absolutely gutted if this is one of those amazingly promising shows that Netflix cancels after one season. I really hope I can see where the rest of this story goes. Tl;dr this show is well worth your time, even if you're not someone who's usually into anime.

Audience shows their true colors
10 September 2023
Don't pay attention to the low ratings of this episode. The story is interesting and fun and fits with the vibe of the show. Unfortunately, the creators had misplaced faith that their audience would be welcoming and accepting of a diverse casting choice. Instead, they're here whining about having to pay closer attention or using closed captioning for ONE EPISODE. Plenty of folks rely on captions 100% of the time to allow them to enjoy tv shows and these people couldn't bear with them for one episode. I actually often use captions to help with audio processing, but I actually found that if I paid a little closer attention, I didn't need them to understand the actress in question. Imagine being the kind of person who loudly complains about being inconvenienced by SOMEONE ELSE'S DISABILITY instead of putting forth a slightly additional amount of effort to understand her. It's incredibly disappointing to see fans of such a cute, typically lighthearted show being so ableist.

Compelling show
26 March 2023
This show is certainly better than the whiny, negative reviews would lead you to believe. It's an interesting, topical premise- obsessive fans who are enabled by social media, set in a greater society full of addictions that are enabled by our modern culture.

The show is technically well-executed and decently acted. It has the makings of a great guilty pleasure show that is also a bit thought-provoking. It seems like a certain segment of the population doesn't like that a particular minor character behaves exactly the way a lot of them behave online. Don't believe their reviews trying to tank the show.

A beautiful tribute to a talented women taken too soon
14 March 2022
It's really gross and sad to see reviews of this documentary that say it would have been better and could have been covered in less time if there was less focus on Kim's life, who she was as a person, and the people who loved her. Not only is that disgusting, but it also willfully ignores the point of telling these stories and, in fact, the entire point of this documentary (a point which was clearly expressed several times throughout). The point of true crime stories shouldn't be solely focusing on the killer and the crime. These stories shouldn't make the killers a household name while only focusing on the victim for as long as it takes to describe the worst day of their life. These stories need to show the other side of things- the void left in people's lives and in the world now that this person has been taken out of it. We know too many "famous" killers' names and yet next to nothing about their victims. This documentary does an amazing job of balancing the story and the trial with the human impact of Kim's death. It's just really pitiful that folks don't seem to have enough attention span for both.
