Alkemi: Quarantine at Sea (2022)
It was enjoyable, yet hard to watch.
I know the people in this documentary are great, caring, loving people. I loved watching the day to day and the camaraderie between them all. There is a dog, Nellie, on the boat, and she is NOT a happy sailor. :( It made me stressed out to see HER stressed out. My recommendation: (as if I was asked) Sail all you want, but leave the land lover with friends or family. :) I appreciated seeing the joy you created during a very scary time in all our lives.
American Skin (2019)
BRAVO!
This movie is a 10/10. I wasn't expecting much at first, but in the first 10 minutes I was sucked in. This movie shows the realities of the BLM and Blue Lives Matter movements. That there IS a deep, deep prejudice that has been branded into almost all of us. POC even have their own prejudices within their cultures. It's inevitable, BUT, if we open up, admit our fears and differences and talk about our similarities, then maybe we can truly start healing. This movie is a great pre-cursor to indepth discussions on race, responsibility, and being able to see all points of view.
After Life (2019)
Brilliant!
I rarely write reviews, but this mini series was amazing. From start to finish you will laugh, cry, and probably get pretty damn depressed, but it's all worth it. Thank you so much, Ricky. Yes, you're a rotten c^&t, but I love you. :) I needed this so much right now, as I'm sure thousands of others do as well. Again, THANK YOU!
Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017)
My first review and it's a downer
I cannot understand why anyone would give this movie more than a 3. Vaughn's acting has never been worse, the storyline is juvenile at best, and the dialogue? It's inane. I'm shocked anyone gave this a good review. This is a B movie at best. I only gave it 3 stars because I usually love Vince Vaughn.
