Red Planet (2000)
A very entertaining Hollywood movie.
This is a very fun to watch movie, but it has some flaws: The plot is basic Hollywood formula, and also there are some holes in the script that annoyingly could have been fixed by a few extra lines, But the film also has many upsides, such as a good mystery, decent suspense, and cool FX. The acting is decent too, and the hole ridden plot still manages to keep it together. In all this is a decent sci-fi film. I recommend this film to people 12 and up

Tremors (2003)
Great series follow-up, but sadly short-lived.
Tremors: The Series

Tremors: The Series starts off a bit after the 3d Tremors film, Tremors 3: Back to Perfection, so it still has Michael Gross as Burt, and the other Perfection valley citizens (though they are played by different actors) with the absence of "Desert" Jack Sawyer, who is replaced Tyler an ex-NASCAR driver who bought the Graboid tour business. Even though there is only one returning actor, the acting works for the most part, and the characters are fun. Plus there is a side story about a DNA mixing compound loose in the valley, which provides lots of mutant animal plots. Just a warning, the budget went down a bit, so don't expect as much Graboid action as the movies. In comparison to the movies, here are the ups and downs: Ups: DOWNS: -Better plot variety -smaller budget -Improved Graboid tongues -worse CGI -More time for characters -chopy cinematography (during attack scenes) -More characters -very short lived -More creatures (this is not all that I can think, I'm just trying to make an even amount of ups an downs) So anyway, It's a good companion to the series and a good show. I recommend it

Tremors 3: Back to Perfection (2001)
fun, but comes off a little to much like a goofy comedy
Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie, but it did come off a tad bit to much like a comedy. It was not to much of a problem, but still this film could have used a little more horror. Other than that, there was still lots of chemistry from the leads, thanks to Michael Gross and the the other new actors (Shawn Christian, Susan Chuang) and lots of funny stuff, I think this one may be the funniest in the series. But this film does suffer from an FX decline, not in animatronics really, but in CGI. (spoiler alert) Because once again, the Graboids take a new form, called "Ass Blasters" because of their ability to set off a chemical reaction in their behind, which blasts them into the air, were they glide on hang glider-like wings. But that's were the problem is, animatronics and miniatures were not enough to pull off their flying ability, so CGI was in order. The CGI was good for back then, but now, it is a bit second tier. The design and of the creatures saves it though, because they look good with (spoiler alert) a gray-red almost dragon-like body, 6-7 feet long, and a Graboidy head with long neck. The worst CGI is on the big graboid, who in this film basically looks like a pale, over sized, hot dog. By the way, the shriekers hardly appear in the film. But despite it's downsides, it is a fun movie and I recommend it.
Tremors II: Aftershocks (1996)
Why was this released strait-to-video?!
I do not understand why this film went strait to video, I mean I've seen worse in theaters and really do not get this! Tremors 2 is a good film successful in humor and action and It's probably the coolest looking film in the series, so why? My best guess is that it was not as much in demand as it would have been if it was released more around '93, and that it did not have as much of a mainstream feel to it. But anyway, this film is better than it's IMDb rating says, I'd say more around 7.5-8.0. And (spoilers ahead) the new graboid form (shriekers) were very cool. They had graboid-ish heads that are equipped with heat sensors, and bodies that look like the last two or so feet of a graboid, but with legs. The story is good, adding more horror elements too the mix, and over all it is a very good movie.
Tremors (1990)
awesome
Lots of fun to watch, good acting, enjoyable characters, and of yeah- awesome effects! The tremor effects in this film may be the best of the series and this film certainly is the most star studded of the pack, with very good character chemistry. Ward and bacon are not the only ones providing it though; Michael Gross and Reba McEntire also offer up some laughs. Most comedy or sci-fi fans will enjoy it, along with your average movie goer. So I highly recommend it. If you like Tremors, the other three films are: Tremors 2: Aftershocks, Tremors 3: Back to perfection, and Tremors 4: The legend begins. I personally an a fan of the whole series and I think most viewers would like at least the first two.
