The Flash: Heart of the Matter, Part 2 (2021)
terrible
Several years ago I wrote a review about this show. I was so tired of Barry's attitude that he was a God, able to reverse time (remember the tidal wave?) Or remember the first time of Nora Speedforce God? Taking Barry into the speedforce, leaving all he loved behind? But year after year we have had to endure the cross overs, the impossible and I as a superhero fan loved it, despite how I thought it could have been more. But this year was bad, really, bad. I understand Covid, he time tables, trying to make the shows cohesive. I wrote more but IMMB deleteted it. Anyway, this year was bad. The forces, where were they? Bad show, bad script, bad acting, bad casting, bad evertything, so if the new big bad for the last year is Rev Flash, so lame. Whole season, so lame. Where were the other forces? Just so bad writing, next season going to be horrible, I can see it but guess what I won't because I will be homeless and this will all be a bad dream.
Pit Bulls and Parolees (2009)
Learning about saving animals
I have always been an animal lover, cats and dogs for the most. I will try and keep this brief. I didn't want to watch this show when it premiered, I didn't like or understand the concept. The pit bull coverage was so negative. Then a few years ago I did, I got caught up on all the episodes (except those that Animal Planet will not air) and I fell in love with the show. Some things are edited for production purposes but all "reality shows" are edited that way. The bottom line is this rescue is awesome, as are most rescues in this country. I wish Animal Planet could pull more of their rescues together, showing the truly compassionate side of humanity. Pit Bulls and Parolees is a great show, some may find it difficult to watch with the rescues of dogs in horrible situations and....yes cats and other animals. But incorporating other Animal Planet shows, like Dr Dee, Vet Life and Dr Jeff and of course Pit Bulls and Parolees I pray people will find their inner love of animals and these shows exude it.
Inhumans (2017)
I am disappointed like the others
Marvel is usually very smart with their stories and productions. This show is a disaster. As others have stated, whether you had high hopes or no opinion at all this series has disappointed everyone. I watched the three available episodes before I made my decision. The writing is bad, the story is slow and plodding making it almost impossible to sit through, the graphics are so below Marvel standards, the stunt people are horrible (or it may just be the director), you can see the actors are trying but they can't compensate for bad writing and directing. I've never been a big fan of the Inhumans story line which is often linked to the Fantastic 4, but I wanted to watch and hope it would live up to the other MCU productions. It doesn't, so sad. Marvel/Disney is trying to "cash in" on every franchise, on every platform, on every medium. This time they missed the mark.
Star Trek Beyond (2016)
I Just Saw Beyond And I Loved It!
For those who hated it, I'm sorry but this movie rocked! People in the theater with me laughed, cheered and I even heard sobs at certain points. The plot is out there if you search, I did read it but it did not give the movie justice. It is very hard to write a script that includes so many cast members and make all their lines meaningful. This team for Star Trek and the Marvel team make it all work, other studios do not. Even the very end, where the classic Star Trek script is read about their five year mission included the entire cast. There is a picture near the end, since I have watched the original series and subsequent movies, found very touching. The action is almost non-stop and Jaylah stole the show. I hope she appears in future movies along with Carol Marcus. Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto so handsome, the rest of the cast the greatest and then there's Karl Urban who is my absolute favorite. I am so excited to see Karl in the next Thor movie, he will be fantastic! Don't let people make you think this movie is inferior, it's not, see it and judge for yourself, please! Some movies drag when they top two hours, I could name some but will not, but Captain America: Civil War and Star Trek: Beyond are not two of them, the time zipped by. If you loved the first two, please go see this one. I also believe some of the dialog is setting up the next movie, go see and decide for yourself.
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
OMG What a film!
I rate this a 9 only behind CA:WS because WS had the shock factor of Steven finding out Bucky is alive. In CW he is trying to save him, from everyone! I see people hate IM3 and Thor:DW, why? Both of these movies move the franchise to the next level. IM3 is fantastic! It shows Tony can resolve problems without his armor. CA:WS tells how Steve has coped with being frozen for 70 years and then is caught is a web of lies from Fury, Black Widow and Shield. Thor's first movie is okay but too overwhelmed with legend, something Kenneth B is known for. Thor:DW shows the infinity stone of the Aether infecting Jane Foster, who is "yes" written as weak, but it can change just like Pepper Potts. Her, PP role in IM3 is awesome! What I'm trying to say is I've see all the movies and I have to say Marvel knows what they are doing! DC as much as I want, does not. Sure there are holes, weak spots, we all see the MCU different but don't second guess yourself, CA:CW is a slam, bang, wonderful story sure to make many people cry at different times, I did, so many times, when Bucky smashed Tony's father in the face, when Tony blew Bucky's are off, when Tony smashed Steve but Steve said, I can do this all day! And then Steve slammed his shield into Tony to rescue Bucky, minus an arm. I may be all over the place but let me say if you loved Winter Soldier, Civil War will make you cry and say, more CAP and more TONY but not until Infinity War, so sad we have to wait!
Legends (2014)
season 2....stupid!!!
TNT knew this was going to be a loser which is why they put it on the air with Agent X. Producers and directors just do not understand what drives American television. To complicate matters this premiered during the Paris attacks. TNT would have been smart to pull the episodes but since they knew the show was DOA for season 2 they let it go on. Sean Bean is a great actor, it's ashamed S2 deteriorate from S1. I know I wanted to see him use the same skills that kept him alive during the flashback bombings which will keep him alive and pursuing the people who framed him during S2. I think many of use hoped it would be a new version of Burn Notice. As usual, cable television takes good TV like Complications (I know people will trash me for this but it was a great show)and put on these loser shows which we reject. I think cable TV should have to be true with their ratings and put on TV the people want and vote for! The writers (aka show runners)control what we watch, we need to let them know what we want to watch! TNT you killed a good show in Legends! My opinion, of course!
Almost Human (2013)
just a stupid show
Lots of CGI for futurist cities, flashing lights on cars, an android who's "pathways" glow and a cop with a fake leg. The banter is boring, the plots are stupid and as usual Fox cancels good shows and put this dribble on. The stories have all been seen on other shows, the buddy dislike but we are best friends garbage has been played to death. So this time we have a cop with a fake leg (I'm sure with a back story) and an android who can out think and out perform the human but who needs the human to be a cop. Why? What can the human teach a machine? Fox let Nathan Fillon and Amy Acker slip through their fingers and in its place they put on terrible shows like this. Don't watch this trash, force Fox to put on quality programming, something more than a 24 retread coming next year.
