Night Skies (2007)

A Surprisingly good movie despite the bad ratings!!!!
3 February 2007
After seeing the low IMDb user rating for this movie I wasn't expecting too much. But I found comments about the bad the acting and such where a bit harsh. Compared to a lot of other movies out there this one was OK. The movie had me going from the start, trying to piece together the reality from fiction. I was so intrigued as to what part of the real story is true and what is just Hollywood hype, I am now following up the real story myself. The first half of the movie was full of suspense, and in my opinion the movie pulled it off quite well, while the later part of the movie had a very similar feel to Fire in the Sky.

Personally I really enjoyed it, but I am just a UFO buff to begin with. For those who like the intrigue of a true story, give this one a go.

Komodo vs. Cobra (2005 TV Movie)

This movie should have been left on the cutting room floor!!!
3 February 2007
Within the first 5 minutes of this movie I knew I was in for one of those "pick at the faults" kinda movie. The acting was terrible, the script was even worse. Who ever let these people write write such crap for a movie need to be feed the Komodo's themselves. With Russian Mig jets posing as U.S. Air Force jets, and pistols that can miraculously shoot 50 - 60 rounds rapid fire without reloading is poor detail to any story. In one scene komodo are killing special forces troops at night, while in another they are explaining how the komodos and cobras are cold blooded and don't come out night!!!! Also with fantastic special effects available in today's movie industry, they were only average even for this low budget movie.

All that being said, I did watch it to the end curious as to what other wonders bad film making could produce. Shame Shame Shame, for producing such rot!!!

This movie should have been left on the cutting room floor!!!

Not bad if you have read the book... but if you haven't forget it!
16 January 2007
It was about 10 years ago when I came across the book and not by chance, it literally fell into lap. It was one of the best books I had ever read. That said I waited years for the movie with high expectations. I ordered the DVD as soon as it was available and eagerly watched it with friends. Unfortunately the movie failed on several aspects! As the movie progressed I found myself pausing the movie frequently to explain to those who had not read the book what was going on. The movie seemed to skim quickly over some of the insights without proper explanation which caused me to loose track as to which insight was being discussed in the movie. On a whole I felt the characters were well portrayed and acted, but was let down by a crammed script. I believe this should have been made into a mini series for TV allowing it to take full advantage of the character development and proper explanation of the insights.

Not bad if you have read the book... but if you haven't forget it!

All round enjoyable flick for all ages
16 January 2007
This is a movie for the whole family!! I took my wife and 2 sons to see this one as a family outing and thoroughly enjoyed it. The mix of one liners ,comedy and action blended well together, including the actors. Hey! I Thought Micky Rooney was dead! Boy was I wrong!! I sometimes find it hard to take Ben Stillers quirky kind of humour, but he pulls it of nicely with this movie. The special effects in this movie are also very good, and it is hard to tell what is real and what is CGI. I could only find one fault with the film! Why didn't anyone notice the missing caveman after he left the building and evaporated? Anyway, this film will be a must for my DVD collection as it is an all round enjoyable flick for all ages.

By the way, Does anybody know how I can get Ben Stillers job from the movie?

The Best Crop Circle Documentary I have Seen!!!!!
10 March 2005
This is the definitive DVD on Crop Circles. For those with an open mind this excellent documentary will surely convince you of this magnificent phenomenon. Along with excellent images of the various circles, they give all the facts about what makes these circles so special, right down to the molecular structure of the plants. There is no WAY in this World that a couple of old men are creating the intricate images in the fields, without being caught after 30 or more years. Just look at the images and there sizes. I'm not sure about the US version DVD, but the Australian version has nearly 2 hours of extra interviews and images of Crop Circles. Highly recommended.
