I really thought I'd hate this..
18 August 2022
But it's honestly not bad. Only one episode in, but it had its moments. The cgi wasn't near as bad as the trailers made it look. I didn't find myself staring at her face cringing like I did before so good on them for fixing it. Some of the jokes landed and some didn't, but I think a lot of them were in the trailers so maybe that's why. I thought her automatically being better at everything than Bruce without any real explanation other than "girl power" was kinda lame, and relying on the whole "men are the devil and keeping us women down" was unnecessary. Should be able to write a female led show without having to rely on those tropes, so here's hoping it's not constantly present during the whole series. I did like the moments of Bruce talking about Tony and filling in some of the stuff they left out about smart hulk. All in all I was surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did, but it definitely has room for improvement. Also, make sure to stay for the after credits, only time I actually laughed out loud was when they cut right before she finished her line.

Really?
9 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Yay for all the tropes of kids in shows and movies we've all seen a hundred times. While I don't expect kids to be geniuses, I don't believe I've ever met a kid as stupid as Jed. He's alone in a hotel full of strangers and he's been abused for the last year or so and yet the writers want us to believe he's trusting enough to go to a hotel with a complete stranger, then trust the creepy child killer? Ooook... sure, and even if we believe that much, why would he see a murder then walk closer and just let the door slam behind him? Makes no sense at all for anything but a lazy writer not being able to provide a good way to move the plot forward to where it needs to go. Rose is also completely dumb, short sighted and unlikeable. This show started off so good and it really has just gone downhill as it moves toward the finale, what a shame.

Not really an 8 but
6 April 2022
I'm just trying to offset some of the hate. Realistically it's a 6.5, nothing amazing, but I for sure laughed more than I thought I would given the reviews. It could have used to trim 20 mins or so towards the end but other than that I really enjoyed myself. Just don't go into it thinking you're gonna get the next 40 year old virgin and you'll be fine.

I don't care that it's not a comedy
3 March 2022
I know a lot of people are saying it's sucks because it's "not funny like the original", it's not supposed to be. The real problem is it tries to be edgy and dramatic but really they just throw out buzz words and #phrases to appeal to young people and don't actually explore both sides of anything. Not to mention how over the top the acting is. To be honest this feels more like it should be on prime time cw right between the vampire diaries and gossip girl or something. Definitely not my thing, but that's just my opinion, and obviously some people like it.

Love Ken Jeong...
21 February 2022
Butttt he just did not do well in this episode, it's like he wasn't taking it seriously at all. I know it's supposed to be fun and all the guest detectives broke, but he just didn't seem to try at all, really disappointing. Arenett was great as always, and overall the episode wasn't bad, had some great other guests to keep it funny, just don't expect a full effort from Jeong.

It's like...

A 90 min Dhar Mann video. Over exaggerated stereotypes to fit a narrative done with poor direction and acting. Cringe level x10000000. If you can make it through this entire film without vomiting in your mouth you deserve a gold star. Avoid unless you've been waiting for a Dhar Mann movie.

Andrea was the worst
27 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
One of the dumbest characters to ever grace this show. If she hadn't died in this episode I may have given up on it. I mean really, who stops when you're about to be eaten by a soon to be walker. Would have given it a better rating for her death alone but they made Carl become even dumber than usual, and Andreas toes were gross too.

Not really a 10, gotta balance the unnecessary hate
23 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Look it's not my favorite matrix, that will always be the original, you can't catch lightning in a bottle twice. That movie changed a lot and trying to think a sequel can be better than the original is foolish as it's only happened a handful of times in the history of cinema. But I will say it's definitely my new second favorite. I didn't hate the sequels like some people did, I just didn't like the overuse of cgi when it wasn't there and the cave rave. I really enjoyed the new lore and where they went with it. Was I initially onboard with the new Morpheus? Not really... but now after it had time to settle and I understood what he really was I moved on knowing he wasn't supposed to be our Morpheus. While I think people are justified in saying they overused the meta commentary. It wasn't a big issue for me, they could have scaled it back a bit but I thought it was entertaining. Honestly I really enjoyed the concepts they went with in how they controlled neo and kept all the things that made him, well him, close by. And I liked how they stayed true to the love story of trinity and neo the core of the story. Having the Merovingian and Sati back was awesome. Specifically Sati as she was a big part of the end of the original trilogy and I'm glad they didn't leave that plot thread dangling forever. The new crew were great, especially Bugs and Sheaperd. I really liked how some of the machines, humans, and programs were now working together. I could honestly go on for a while but I'll just say if you really liked the themes, story and characters and lore of the original trilogy and animatrix, you'll love this movie. If you only like the first movie and hated everything after it this movie likely isn't for you. It's more than just an action movie, it was always and original live action anime at heart and this isn't any different. It's about connection and love and accepting who you really are, with a lot of "Kung fu" and bullet time mixed in. Wish I could tell Lana how thankful I am and I hope they finish this new story so we can see where the rabbit takes us.

Anime is one of my favorites
20 November 2021
The original anime is easily in my top 5 and I still really love this. Do I have some nit picks. Yeah, but you almost never come across perfection in anything in life. As most people have complained I don't like who they cast as viscous. Not sure yet if it's casting or what the director/script gave the actor to work with, or maybe all three tbh. But something about him just wasn't right. Other than that I'm loving it so far. Most of the changes make sense, it's got some scenes ripped right out of the anime and makes some other changes to keep it fresh. Probably the best anime to tv adaptation I've personally seen. I technically give this an 8 I just wanted to offset some of the hate from people that expect some exact carbon copy of what they've seen 100 times.

Honestly likes this movie..
10 November 2020
When it first came out. But rewatching it now I'm just kept thinking even with suspense of belief there's no way people are this dumb. Like they just kept making dumber and dumber decisions. It got to the point that I just turned it off instead of finishing it, even though I love Norm, chapelle and DeVito. They just weren't enough to hold it up now that I'm older. Hopefully a younger generation will appreciate it though.

Good to see JGL back
14 August 2020
Wasn't the best movie I've seen or anything but I'd definitely watch it again. Jamie Foxx, JGL, and Dominique Fishback all did a great job here. It had humor and action and was definitely fast paced and shot well too. The story was fun though it almost reminds me of the boys and X-men 3 mashed up. Anyways if you're looking for something new to watch and you like a fast paced story with good action, acting and visuals and some humor mixed in this is definitely a worth a try.
