Nope (2022)
Hell YEAH!
Just love everything about it.
It's not horror, it's not sci-fi, it's not a western, it's not a blacksploitation flick.
ITS ALL OF THE ABOVE! =)
And really funny, and clever, and very original.
Ending gfx are especially original and splendid.
Acting is spot on. Interesting storyline character combinations. Keeps you in the 'dark' and interested long enough without dragging it out.
Review wont post If I don't use at least 600 characters so...if I may quote myself:

Zvyozdniy razum (2022)
What a waste of beautiful CGI
Ls,
Very high level graphics.
Acting: awful, sound/voice over is terrible.
Storyline: perhaps died on the editing table.
Makes no sense, is not interesting, follows no plot other than some random collage of older sci-fi.
It's like a good trailer that they expanded with random footage.
Wanted to like it, couldn't bear to watch it to the end.
A real waste.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021)
Yeah.. nah!
Why?
Is there no low-bar for audiences anymore?
I still like to believe that things, as such, could move forward.
And as(s) much as I try not to quote Melania Trump; still : "Be better".
What a mayor fail. I blame the parents.
Ojukokoro (Greed) (2016)
Nigeria's Lock Stock & smoking barrels
For the budget they had, very entertaining and worthwhile.
Perhaps a bit slow, but that's comparing to Michael Bay or sorts.
I found it more a human interest story.
Nicely done chronological flash-backs.
Funny acting.
No big-hero stuff. Just people in a jam.
I found it to be very refreshing.
Risen (2021)
Absolutely void of content
Very long sulky scene's with moody music and excessive meandering shots.
Nothing happens.. or a lot of things have happened but nobody seems to care or do anything but wander around.
When actually there is something spectacular is going on.
The audience is just not allowed to participate nor does any of the cast.
Epic fail.
The scenery is pretty that's the 1 star.
Old (2021)
Gets old really quick
Ironic fact, if you choose to see it, you will have aged considerably watching this.
If it had been a short 15 minute movie. It would have been great. The premise is good but there's nothing to see.
They just make you sit through this meaningless cliché for, perhaps, making you feel the loss of time.
But that's all it is a funny idea that wastes your time.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Extremely annoying plot hole (read only if you have seen it) Very Enjoyable still
So, apart from all the other silly things you can fret over; what made me explode for the lack of thought that went into the end is:
They didn't find any evidence of the craft landing site in the future.
They had no idea where it started and are unable to prevent it from happening in our present.
This, they discover, was because they were already buried in the past and they dug up!
That's pretty clever...
If it hadn't been for the fact that they then discover that they had eventually thawed out and woke up.
But they still crashed, from the sky, leaving a crater/crash site.
So the wreck should have been clearly visible in the future.
Why didn't they leave it at having been buried under the ice in the future?
Makes me very upset =)
For the rest I really enjoyed the no holds bar aggression by the aliens.
Looks very slick.
Retfærdighedens ryttere (2020)
One of the best storytelling I have ever seen
Ls,
It combines a very clever character build with some lean action (just to give your mind a rest now and then, I guess, but even then; very well done)
It's extremely clever and funny and extremely sad at the same time ?!
It's existential and true, yet doesn't provide a "clean" solution. Does anything matter?
People at their best and worst. Be it: clever or ignorant, powerful or frail, overcoming and coping
And as a side note: splendid performances from all the cast.
If you can see it please do.
Chaos Walking (2021)
Solid
If you like scifi
You might enjoy this.
Mikael Madsen wasnt used to his potential, nor any other actor. But in this case thats good.
Really liked it a lot.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
OMG! They fixed it !
This is the way (wrong franchise but yeah!)
Went into sleep or tantrums on previous bs.
This is the real thing! Thank you!

Lapsis (2020)
Just perfect
Very refreshing, clever and sweet.
Acting is on par. Story is clever and interresting not to mention very true.
Extremely enjoyed it.
Tian jiang xiong shi (2015)
Grandiose in a good way
Ls,
I really...really enjoyed it.
The production value is extremely high.
Magnificent costumes and fight scenes, the end battle is truly epic.
Music is, now and then, grandiose, which, if it was all a true story appropriate but it fits the scenery trying to lift it to what you are watching(had it been true)
Also, I had some voice issues probably caused by multilingual over editing.
Kid's crying was annoying.
All that is just me. So that's why a 9 not a 10.
Oh yeah, Jackie Chan being not goofy is refreshing.
Watch and enjoy.
Cactus Jack (2022)
A bad idea unless intended
Just watched it till the end because I thought there must be a whopping good twist or point coming.
But nope. Can't unhear it (nothing to see really). Suggest you do not.
If anything its a free ticket to being able to spew hate and vile idea's.
There is no balance, there is no lesson/idea; about 99% is cursing.
Its a good source for foul language and anti-social behaviour.
And its true that such an ideology like this exists I might even agree (if ever so slightly) with some of the arguments made.
But it does nothing for those who do not share such a world view, rather it is fuel and intoxicating for those who do.
We have seen the effect recently with the 2020 elections.
In short: A bad idea to give bad ideas such an accessible platform and format.
Fuego negro (2020)
WTF? Very weird but I liked it.
Couldn't stop watching it. Don't know why.
Cinematics are good. "Story" is weird, is this part X of something?
None of it makes sense but I think that was on purpose. It's more of an experience than a story.
So since I can't classify it, it is what it is. Gave it an 8 for cinematics and originality.
Smoking some marihuana is advised.
I didn't but I think it might really clarify a lot =)
Toy Story 4 (2019)
A Masterpiece
This is a gift that just keeps on giving.
I laughed till I cried, what amazing wonderous and beautiful adventures and animations they made here.
It's as close to magic as it gets to me.
Thank you again Pixar, and all that worked on this!
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Yeah! well done, just like part one; a real blast
Loved it, I can't understand what the fuss is about?!
Ok so the storyline is a bit akward because they are trying to reboot the genre after killing skynet.
But I'm good. Works for me.
Real good action, terminator style.
Very funny too without being corny.
Give me more!
Underwater (2020)
Aliens meets the abyss feel
Wow! Really good suspense. A semi-cliché mashup of several genres but the best yet.
I started in disbelief like, o yeah there we go again but I have been proven wrong. What a ride.
Also; Kirsten steward has a really beautiful body that is "used" and shown off without you/(me?) making me feel like a perverted peeping tom; A bit like the end scene of Alien where Ripley goes underwear. But never mind that.
Good acting all around without cliché one-line actors, jokes or script.
And the ending... omg the ending! I'm going to watch it again now.
Empathy, Inc. (2018)
Wanted to give it a 9 but no; its a 10! =)
The whole concept is mind blowing and unravels really well without being predictable.
The character body swapping is, imho, very well acted.
Then ending had me laugh out loud.
So; Its black and white but very well done and refreshing.
Great watch
Beyond White Space (2018)
Very decent sci-fi with a few edit errors before the end
It is indeed Moby dick meets pacific rim critters that read about knights of Sidonia.
Nevertheless I really enjoyed most of it.
GFX are way up there, acting is good, story is good enough, fails on the execution at 3/4 but picks up at the very end.
I think they had too many idea's and all had to be edited into the last 3/4 before the climax.
If you are on weed you might not even notice =)
Enjoyed it but also, next time, polish it up more and get a 10.
<B
Alien Code (2018)
=) A true gem!
Its like the arrival, meets the box.. and.... time travel stuff....
But on a really low budget.
And, for once, that doesnt seem to matter.
There are many scify flicks out there that tried this kind of story, but this is the only one, so far, that pulls it off.
Very well done...
I found it really enjoyable, has my mind still spinning, and wasnt at any moment disappointed at what happens or we/the audience are supposed to swallow/believe.
The actors really carry it through.
Amazing feat.
Actually, the "lack" of special effects and attempt at "wow"-factor really saves it and makes it a gem.
imho.. I hope you enjoy it like I did.

Beyond Skyline (2017)
OMg! a part II that is better than part 1 ?
O yes it is =)
Part one was pretty lame imo.
This I really enjoyed. Its like battle of los angeles meets ong bak.
State of the art alien GFX. Very nice fight scenes.
Utterly devestates part 1 on all fronts.
No cliche's I could fret over, very entertaining. Even the acting is very good.
I gave it an 8 and added a +1 for beating part 1.
See it and enjoy if you enjoy sci fi and martial arts.
A Cure for Wellness (2016)
Most excellent
It's a mystery story. Slightly to very unnerving. somewhere in the realm of Dracula, the seventh sign, and in a novel way Rebecca(Hitchcock) but reversed and twisted and then some. You don't see anything like this much. I really really enjoyed this. Its not horror; the ending will not leave you wishing you hadn't watched it just until the end. But I was glad it was over nonetheless.. enjoy!
The Void (2016)
Old skool good horror flick
Haven't seen anything with this horror quality in a long while. For me it is somewhere between first phantasm and the first hellraiser.
Nothing gets overly explained which adds to the experience Some heroics but no gung-ho bs comebacks. Well done gore and gfx, great atmosphere and lighting and sound. Its so not over the top that it hits a believable mark that gives it a very creepy vibe.
Although I would like to know more in detail about the symbols, rituals, history.. blah blah and blah.... It didn't matter. I really enjoyed it. Check it out if you like horror.
Regards,
Mac
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013)
Pure Art! Food for the eye the mind and the soul.
Ls,
I feel a happier and better person just by having seen it. Casting is spot on. Everybody and everything. Ben Stillers acting style and humor are still visible but more as a personal trait then trying to be funny (even if you don't like him, you'll love him). Scenes are picturesque and beautiful. A masterful piece of work and retelling of an old short story in the present day. Seen it twice, Sean Penn is hardly on screen yet the second viewing it was like the spirit of his character is permeating the entire film. Thas how good he is. I am in awe!
P.s. I never write reviews, except once when i tried to warn people not to watch, think or even speak of the human centipede.
This on the other hand; go tell it on the mountain =))
Think I'm gonna watch it again now.
