Schitt$ Creek (2015)
It was MEH until Noah Reid arrived... Honestly
I've only come across this show now... I'm always late. Honestly I watched 1st episode and struggled to finish it. I like Eugene Levy so I kept giving it a chance. I struggled to connect with anyone there I mean rich people going broke has been done enough right? Eugene Levy played something like that on Madea Witness Protection so it was done before and it didn't interest me so I watched it on mute while doing other stuff.
It's only from season 3 when Patrick arrived that I started paying attention. The show really needed him. After he arrived I started paying attention to all actors and gave them a chance. It really turned out to be a beautiful show. I then loved Moira, Stevie, Ray, Ronnie, Roland even Bob. I have to say If Patric didn't arrive, I would have never paid attention. Never mind the fact that his smile makes one weak in the knees but his acting was great and they made such a good team with David.
Thanks to the creators for making me forget about the real world for a bit. I wish the world was like that. Hell Im a straight woman and the show made me wish I was a gay guy so nicely done!
Ted Lasso (2020)
WHAT A WONDERFUL SURPRISE
I avoided watching this for a while coz I dont like shows named after people until I decided to take a break from my usual crime shows and boy oh boy I loved it. I dont care much for soccer but after watching this I have to say I see soccer in a different light.
The show is very light on the heart and you cant help but smile when watching it. I like all characters even the villains have a place in my heart. I was really getting tired of shows throwing race in our face and destroying very good shows. Sometimes when we watch shows is because we want to escape real life nonsense and this show is truly an escape for me. Ted Lasso with his sunny personality, Roy with his dark but loveable personality and soccer boss lady with her beautiful angelic singing voice.
They're all great and from the bottom of my heart I'd like to say thanks for the wonderful show. You got yourselves a new fan!
American Auto (2021)
IT'S SO WEIRDLY GOOD 😂
I felt like taking a break from my usual crime series and was looking for something light and entertaining and this did not disappoint.
I think the actors are funning without pushing too hard. I love how they say weird funny stuff with straight faces... hilarious! It's one of those comedies that does the job. You dont need to invest in actors emotionally, they're just there to entertain and they did deliver. I just hope season 2 is also good. I would hate for this good show to be cancelled.
Watch it and draw your own conclusion. We have different tastes so we cant all like the same things... It's impossible.
House of Hammer (2022)
Not sending the right message
I don't like celebrities lives. They dont interest me at all so I didnt know who Armie was when I watched this only to realize that he was in UNCLE spy movie.
When this documentary started I pictured all horrible things Im going to learn about this man but truly speaking, this show failed to produce that. All it managed to do is prove thay this Armie guy didn't do bad stuff to women by his own accord but his upringing contributed 100%. They showed just how children being raised badly can end up making bad decisions.
By the time this documentary was over, I had forgotten all about the abused women. All that was in my head was the death of the grandfather, the will, the wealth and the poor child (Armie) who had to grow up around all that mess.
This show was supposed to concentrate on the women this guy hurt but it has failed.
In the Dark (2019)
Whats happening?
Im trying to enjoy this. I really am but it really sucks. The main actress woooow she makes everything worse. And Im only on season 1. I keep fast forwarding and giving it a chance but it's really bad. To think great shows dont get to see season 2 but this one saw more than 3 seasons! The boyfriend was being treated like crap and he kept taking it. Dont even get me started on the best friend... she takes it more than others.
I really think they should've toned down on the main character's attitude a bit. It's too much. I haven't seen season 2 yet
I'm not enjoying it one bit but Im bored sooo we'll see.
Blindspot: Hella Duplicitous (2018)
What a waste!
I really wanted to like this season but it really, really, really sucks. What were they thinking? At least this season should've been about fighting Roman, Crawford and his girlfriend. That could've been more interesting. Instead Jane is now Remi and boring as hell. I seriously wanyed to gouge my eyes out. The only person I don't mind watching but in or order to watch him I have to watch the whole season and I just cant. It's really painful to watch. Kurt is no longer the alpha male he was in season 1 and 2. Instead he's this weak crying man who's boring as hell. As for Zapata, never really liked her. I'm guessing this season she's the real CIA agent who's undercover because she was impressed by her boss Keith when he was talking about being undercover and I don't really care. I never understood her role anyway. My point is they should've ended it with season 2 or they should've been more creative because at this point it's either you watch it and roll your eyes the entire season or you just stop watching.
The Event (2010)
They must do it again without time jumps
I somewhat enjoyed this show but I must admit the back and forth really made my head hurt. The acting was okay I guess because I can never do what they do. All actors couldn't display emotions and I found it hard to connect with them. I thought it will improve in the second season but well, cancelled. It had potential.
The House (2017)
People who hated this movie are bitter as hell. It sucks to be them.
This is a clean fun movie. I loved it a lot. I dont understand when someone critiques a movie by saying "do not watch this movie" to me that's a paid review. Watch whatever you want and share your experience. I enjoyed this movie and the cast was fantastic. Jason (Frank) was the funniest of them all. He really delivered. Having said that, there were inconsistencies here and there. Like the fact that when the movie started, Frank mentioned that Joe is retired at 30 and takimg care of his mom yet at the end of the movie it became apparent that he is married to Donna. I did not get that. And Donna while she was having dinner with Bob, she refused the gift with reasons that Bob stole money from the town and that she wouldn't know how to explain it to her husband yet when she walks in on Bob and Scott fighting for the money she's surprised as though she didn't know that Bob stole the money. I feel the Donna part was not necessary in this movie which takes one star from this movie. Great movie though.
Blindspot (2015)
Should've stopped after season 2
I loved first 2 seasons. They were great. I couldn't get enough of Blindspot. But after that it really deteriorated. It was once a great series. Very disappointing.
Spy (2015)
The only review that matters
First of all, when people watch the movie and leave nasty degrading reviews only means its personal. It's amazing how angry people leaving reviews here are... I kinda feel sorry fir them because r I see their blood pressure rising.
Having said that... I gave 7 to this movie because Melissa's mouth. I hope she can just fix that one thing because she takes it to all her movies and make her seem like she needs to be vulgar to survive. I just wish she can tone it down a bit.
Okay the story was not believable. When the movie started Bradley Fine was good. He killed all bad guys swiftly but towards the end he couldnt but watched as Susan unleashed her superspy skills. I feel it was gonna be better if they fought alongside each other.
It was also not believable that Rayna fell so quickly for Bradley Fine that she trusted him in 2 minutes to include him in her nuke deal. You must remember that in the private jet Rayna told Susan that she does not trust any body soooo yea.
When Rayna's drink was spiked, Susan only said to her that "someone" put a roofie in her drink but Rayna responded by saying that "could you point the man out?"
I also think that a scene where Rayna and Bradley were kissing... When Susan said shes a loud kisser, she should've continued by saying that she SOUNDS like an old toothless woman sucking the jelly out of a doughnut and not she LOOKS... if you catch my drift. But as I always say, I blame the whole behind the scenes crew. The acting was great... I was mostly impressed by Jason. I did not picture him in comedy at all but he nailed it. He musnt do it often because being serious works a great deal for him. It was nice to see him laid back and laughing. The Rock however just blends in everything.
Theres another one thing I dont like about Melissa's movies (I realized this on Heat) where most men hits on her a lot. That should also be toned down. It puts a negative spin on her roles. It's unnecessary attention.
Spy is a nice movie so thumbs up for me.
Tammy (2014)
Nice effort
I enjoyed this movie a lot the first time I watched it. But I'm the kind of person who watches the movie daily if I really liked it but I couldnt watch it again. It was not that funny for me. I only liked the part where Tammy was fired and licking the burger bunns and when she left her house carrying her clothes only to go two houses down to her mothers house. That was funny for me. Other than that it became a drama and not a comedy. I say Melissa and Ben will get it right one day. They are on a good track.
The Boss (2016)
The only review that matters
Im reading the reviews here and what I gathered was that people who gave this movie 1 / 2 / 3 are somehow disturbed with the fact that it is done by a married couple, it is starred by a full figured woman who is married to the director and that it has majority of women. When men slap and kick each other in the movies nobody bats an eye. I believe that if the child gets in the movie business the parents are quite well aware of the pros and cons and they study the lines with their kids so its not Melissa's fault there. Shes a writer not a priest. There is a "just for gags" program on TV. Its stupid as hell but it makes people laugh. It's a comedy for goodness sake not a tfue story. As for the reviewer who told us to watch his review on YouTube... I wouldn't watch it even if you can pay me. Its not possible to sit for more than an hour in the movie and give it 1. Its not an ebay product. You only give it a 1 if you stayed for 5 minutes and felt it wasnt for you. This is a great comedy. Well done. Having said that... there were few mistakes like when Michelle told Claire that she had a cellmate for the last six months when really she was arrested for 5 months.
What's with these critics who tell people not to watch certain movies? What the hell is that? Make your own conclusions yes... but dont tell people not to watch the movie just because you hated it. That's what shows that it goes deeper than the movie. I call that hating...
