Amber Alert (2012)
5/10
Anger and Frustration
28 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I gave it a 7 out of 10, mostly for the fact that they did a good job making it seem like a true documentary. However, I absolutely loath Samantha. I understood her need to help the girl, but even knowing that the man was dangerous she emotionally blackmailed her best friend and little brother into continuing to try to save the girl from her kidnapper.

There was no way that Sam didn't know how Nate felt about her. She bullied him, she made him feel like a monster, and she led him into a situation she had no business going into.

*Spoilers*

I loved Nate, while I wouldn't say he was a hero, he was just trying to do the right thing and was forced by his feelings for Sam to go along with her obsession, an obsession that got her brother shot, her best friend killed, and herself killed.

By the end of the movie I really hated Sam. I hated her for getting Nate killed and for the trauma and pain her actions left on her little brother. My feeling was that she was so driven to be the one to do the 'right thing' and maybe become a hero that she didn't care about anyone or anything else. Her actions through the end of the movie were deplorable and even knowing that the police were coming she had to be the one to save the little girl and doing so caused more trauma than had she simply waited for the police to arrive.

Brilliant Movie
13 August 2005
This was a remarkable film, I thought it brought to light Hollywood's ability to subvert a society and to make it into victimizer or victim.

The people who were a part of the industry in the times portrayed showed us, where one entity would censor us, another will find a way around it.

I loved the film and recommend it to anyone interested in the evolution of gays in the media.

The movies shown were interesting and in many cases were films I have seen and realized that there was a subtext to the film.

The writers and the directors were brilliant in the way that they overcame the censors of their period.

It also shows the evolution of the film goer and the hopes for those of us who want to see the gay hero live through the movie and find love and happiness.

Witness for Prosecution
12 April 2005
This movie is truly gripping. The actors involved are top of the line and they all have the ability transport the viewer into the film and make you forget your surroundings.

This movie is worth watching. I am not a fan of Agatha Christie, but this movie is one of my favorites.

Charles Laughton makes this movie. He is what drew me to the movie to begin with. I was not disappointed.

Marlene Deitrich and Tyrone Power play their rolls to the max and manage to play both the jury and the audience to the end.

This movie is well worth watching.
