I wanted to like this movie....
8 March 2019
I've loved the MCU and all it's characters.

I would have loved a Black Widow movie, but we got Captain Marvel.

I thought I'd give it a chance, since the MCU hadn't failed me yet.

I wondered, why Captain Marvel? Not a popular character like Iron-man or Hulk. Most people remember Captain Marvel as a man and Ms. Marvel was the woman.

Still, the MCU wouldn't lead me wrong. Would it?

I was heartbroken.

Why did they cast Brie Larson? She can't act. She has the personality of a speedbump.

I didn't even have enough interest to hate her.

The retconning was terrible.

And yes, it is pretty much a feminist movie.

What I loved about the MCU films is that they were for everyone!!

Captain Marvel.....not so much. It's a shame.

Honestly, it's difficult to review or critique this film without giving spoilers.

I'll just say, don't wast your money in the theater. Wait until it comes out on Netflix.

I'm afraid of what will happen with the upcoming Avengers movie.

If Brie Larson is the future of the MCU. It's going to break the hearts of a lot of people and a lot of money will be lost by the moviemakers..

Just don't watch this movie. It will break your heart.

Are we all watching the same show?

This is a very entertaining piece of political "fluff". Simplistic and not realistic, but fun. It is not meant to be high political drama. It's a piece of TV fiction. I recommend it as a fun piece to watch. Suspend your disbelief and enjoy.

What I find funny is the other reviews. Some find it a piece of liberal propaganda, others conservative propaganda, others see it as a Hard Pro-American, others see it as Anti-American....

What this indicates to me, is that the show is cleverly written in such a manner so as to not give a definite slant or indicate where it stands on any spectrum. It can offend anyone, but I think that it should entertain everyone.

If you can appreciate this as a light, entertaining political fiction, then I strongly recommend it.

Should have been a good film.....but.....

Interesting idea for a story, great cast, but.......disjointed script.....and worse......Robert Duvall's wife as a Texas Ranger.....

She killed the movie as soon as she walked on scene.....then she proceeded to beat the poor film until it died of exhaustion and sadness....

I suppose that nepotism rules here.

Waste of an otherwise great cast, good cinematography, and production quality.

I wanted to like this film, but simply could not......and I hope that Duvall's beautiful wife stays in his life, BUT NOT ON SCREEN!!!!!

Don't waste your time.....

I had high hopes of seeing a movie along the lines of "Tales from the Hood".

However, all I saw was a very low budget combined with mediocre acting.

All in all, it feels as if this is nothing more than an anti-American/pro-illegal immigration film dressed up as a horror anthology.

Worse, it doesn't even have anything worthwhile to say about immigration other than "Gringos" are evil and shouldn't "mess" with Mexicans.

Not recommended.
