Chef's Table: Pizza (2022– )

Strong start, weak continuation
27 September 2022
The show starts off amazingly strong but it all goes downhill from there: Too many of self-centered people who just love to repeatedly up big themselves up and tell everyone how amazing they are with pseudo-philosophical takes on food and life. While some of the foods where amazing, the amount of dishes and ideas fell somewhat short because the people involved seemed to have mistaken the show by thinking they were the main attraction when in reality, the viewer wants to see some amazing dishes, aesthetics and ambiente primarily. One thing that was done well was keeping the sound at an even level throughout the show, something Netflix has unfortunately fell short of too often.

Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021 TV Special)
10/10
Outstanding!
7 October 2021
Contrary to what a certain group of people is saying by wildly exaggerating and taking Chappelles jokes out of context, he has once again tackled societal issues in a very honest and entertaining way. More than ever we need people to speak up and show a different side to the story, which rightfully exists.

Strong start, worst cliffhanger in history of TV.
9 March 2021
While the series is really enjoyable for the most part, the fact that they had Such a bad cliffhanger in the end, was so terrible and off, that it messed everything up. To even attempt to sell the viewer such a narrative is insulting and made the show a waste of time.

Rookie mistake
28 August 2020
Frank Piasechi Poulsen has made a documentary where he wants to show how questionable mobile phone production is. With his infatuation of making this documentary, he has put the lives of innocent people, even children at risk. Was this really necessary? It's clear that the people interviewed in the documentary were not aware or educated on the risks taken which makes this documentary disgusting and unprofessional.

Fatal error in narrative
23 December 2019
As some may have noticed, the Death Star turned to dust when it was blown up in ROTJ, which made it unbearable to watch and to buy in to the narrative since a huge chuck of the death star appeared in this movie - with literally no explanation on how and why Palpatine is suddenly alive.

Because of this crucial error, continuing to watch the movie made it pointless. Still, i wanted to give it a shot.

Without wanting to spoil anything, the task to be solved for the Jedi rebellion in the movie is so extremely difficult, that seeing the solution for all of this and how it unfolded made it unbelievable. Key moments lacked logic and narrative which was another major disappointment.

To top things, the ending was unbelievably predicable and lacked depth and logic. As if the movie wasn't already disappointing enough, the ending has topped it all. Trying to end a story that has went on for 9 movies in a 15 minute spam was ridiculous.

This movie will go down as one of the biggest disappointments in cinema history.

Two stars for effects and acting, which was really decent but the above simply overweighted the whole movie.

Joker (I) (2019)

Best Joker ever.
9 October 2019
Before I saw the movie I saw the bad reviews by self-proclaimed movie critics but i still wanted to give it a shot and I am so glad that I did. The narrative has great depth as well as the actors, especially Joaquin Phoenix. The music and sceneries fit so well that it catapults you right into the time and place. There's so much I could say about this movie but I don't wanna spoil anything.

This movie has once again proven how important it is to find things out for yourself and not listen to others, especially not critics who's job is to create awareness for their publication. I truly hope Joker will continue with this cast and formula.

10/10 for Joker.

Super funny, honest and unapologetic
10 September 2019
Bill Burr has once again delivered. While this is a comedy stand up show, Burr has made some very valid and real points in a funny manner with regards to PC and recreational outrage people who overestimate the value of their opinions. I cannot praise this special enough. Thank you Bill (and Netflix)

Disappointing, even for its intention
6 June 2019
The movie starts of decent and keeps its momentum half way through it. Then Chloe Sevigny starts to cry several times which was so poorly done that you notice how off it is immediately. This wasnt where it stops though, from then on it continues with a lof ot senseless cheesy gags as if Jarmusch didnt know how to close the story. This movie could have been so much more even for what it was intended to be.

The Twilight Zone: Not All Men (2019)
Season 1, Episode 7

Another one-dimensional episode
10 May 2019
The thing about using political and social commentary is that you actually have to tell it like it actually is and not use a higly respected TV show such as TZ to push your (seemingly) personal agendas by poorly generalising men as these toxic creatures. At least this is the direction this show has went.

I truly hope the powers to be at CBS are aware of the poor perception of this show and wont extend for another season - at least not with this group of creatives.

Different for the sake of different.
6 May 2019
I understand how as a creative you are looking for a fresh new angle of storytelling but you should always ask yourself if it makes sense within the narration.

Being different for the sake of different is the perfect way to set yourself up for failure. Once again, another episode which has lacked depth, especially for a space-related story.

A missed opportunity
25 April 2019
I actually thought the core plot itself was interesting but it was poorly executed which made it another underwhelming Twilight Zone episode. 5 episodes in and still no improvement.

The Twilight Zone: A Traveler (2019)
Season 1, Episode 4
2/10
Disappointing.
18 April 2019
The episode starts with the first 10 minutes being a senseless filler that could have been narrowed down in a 2 minute sequence. Also, the mystery aspect of the narrative lacks depth, the narrative is also stretched out to the point that the episode doesnt have many highlights for great lengths of the episode. The relaunch of TZ has been an overall disappointment.

Predictable, one-dimensional
12 April 2019
The narrative of this episode is very predictable and doesn't have any highlights. Also, the plot of the racist and ignorant cop who happens to be prejudiced towards African Americans seemed too obvious of a choice. It seems like Jordan Peele didn't put too much though into it.

Decent!
1 April 2019
While the first episode was shockingly one-dimensional, this episode had it all in a Twilight Zone manner. Great Cinematography, story well told, great casting and understanding to build up and keep momentum in the right situations.

Overall very disappointing
1 April 2019
Whether its the profanity, the lack of depth of the protagonists and its dialogs, this episode makes it seem like Jordan Peele didnt get what the dynamics and overall characteristics of Twilight Zone are about.

Wonder Wheel (2017)

Great but heres the catch:
9 March 2018
Great and original story, when i heard that Justin Timberlake is in the movie, i was hesitant to see the movie because of his past acting attempts but then i wanted to see Jim Belushi so i gave it a shot. Besides its been years since i have seen JT in a movie but unfortunately he makes the movie stand out in an odd way with his one-dimensionality. Its hard not to think of the significantly more suitable actors that could have made the role and movie much better. Still, if you can overlook the oddness of his acting, then this is a great and enjoyable movie.

Depressing til the very end
9 March 2018
When i first heard about this movie, i thought how great it was to see an animated movie about mexican culture. The story however is so morbid, negative and depressing all the way til the end that the upside came up too late and short.. I dont want to spoil anything but while the look/feel of animation is amazing, this has to be arguably the worst animated story i have ever seen.

Surprisingly awful.
30 November 2017
The movie is wildly inaccurate and often does not display important occurrences as they have actually happened. I don't want to spoil anything here but if you are familiar with the life of Mr Reinhardt and compare it to crucial stories being portrayed in the movie, you will find plenty of inaccuracies.

I really wanted this movie to be good but its not. Hopefully someone else will take another shot at this.

F Is for Family (2015–2021)

Very honest and entertaining - love it!
23 December 2015
Bill Burr combines every-day occurrences that are honest, very relatable (that we have possibly all dealt with in our lives) with great humor and cringe-worthy moments, that you can also have a good laugh at.

The animation style was not so much my cup of tea but i have really gotten used to it and wouldn't wanna picture it any different way. Besides, it fits really well with the voice acting, especially with his son Kevin, (my favourite). In addition, the nostalgia aspect of the time was portrayed very well.

I have really enjoyed this show and hope for more. Great job!
