The Apology (2022)
The Apology (But not really)
I was looking forward to watching a new movie with Anna Gunn as one of the main characters. I always thought she was absolutely amazing in Breaking Bad. However, there was not much she could do with this script. The movie is pretty short but it feels like it drags on for way too long. It started off pretty decent but the whole thing goes down the drain around the midway.
I can live with the fact that the script was very predictable. When Jack knocks on the door everyone with half a brain knows why he's actually there. However, Jack comes to apologize and make amendments but proceeds to lie until the bitter end about exactly what happened to Darlenes daughter. He then goes completely crazy wanting to kill both Darlene and her neighbor Gretchen and refuses to be recorded. It doesn't make any sense. It made me ask why he would bother to come knocking in the first place.
The movie is a bit of a mess and in the end i could not help but feeling disappointed.
Wired Shut (2021)
A dull, soulless disaster.
Went in to this movie being mildly hopeful it would turn out to be somewhat entertaining. It turned out to be the biggest snoozefest i have witnessed in a very long time. EVERYTHING takes forever.. And i do mean forever! Every single scene got these ridiculously long and completely useless shots that makes you scream: "GET ON WITH IT!!" The bad guy is extremely cliché. It actually hurts to watch. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he was written by a 13 year old. (I would go as far as to say this is the cringiest bad guy i have ever witnessed in a movie in my entire life, and that's no small feat.) When it comes to the other characters i just didn't care. We never got to know them and they both seemed very unlikable. I have no clue how the movie got rated anything above 4 out of 10.
Far Cry 6 (2021)
The worst story and characters in a Far Cry game to date.
I must admit i had pretty high expectations for Far Cry 6, but i was severely disappointed by the finished product. Don't get me wrong, Far Cry 6 still features plenty of the same exploding action and beautiful nature we are used to find in the world of Far Cry, but they made a mistake when they removed the skill tree from earlier titles. It just doesn't work as well as it should. I find it annoying to change shoes, pants or headgear just to be able to do certain things. (I just ended up not using any of the features) Not to mention the fact that you have to shoot enemies 20 times to kill them if you have the "wrong ammo type for the enemy" by simply adding a feature like in Far Cry 5 where you could change the arrow for your bow on the fly it would be way better. What really killed the experience for me though, was the fact that all the characters seemed to be written for gaming journalists and the Twitter community, you know.. The worst part of the community on Twitter. Every single character was extremely annoying and very hard to like. I didn't care about any of them. I would complain about the story being so short but in this case it's a blessing.
Scream (2015)
Two cool seasons followed by the train wreck that is season 3.
Really enjoyed the actors, the story and the overall feel of the first two seasons. The third season is a complete woke garbage display. I have never seen a decent show go down the drain this quickly. Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from the horrible third season. I wanted to give the show 7 out of 10 but i couldn't get myself to rate it on account of the third season.
Hitler's Circle of Evil (2018)
A show with great potensial, but ruined by awful narration.
The show started of decent enough, but after just minutes of watching i got pummeled with childish narratives. I get it: Hitler was a bad guy, and his Nazi party was the definition of evil. That being said, I don't need the narrators to shove it down my throat. I kept ignoring it and tried to enjoy the otherwise great scenes, but then came episode 3... Instead of just focusing on facts and history, they had to make fun of people's disabilities, weight and even the uniforms. Although the childish focus of the narrators might have some truth behind it, it's still completely worthless information and a personal opinion that ads nothing of value to the show itself. When i watch documentaries about war, i want a serious, non biased history lesson, not a bunch of trash talk.
Gave it 4 out of 10 because of the great looking scenes.. The rest is pretty much trash. A wasted opportunity.
Snatchers (2019)
Gory B Movie Fun
Snatchers may not bring home top scores neither does it try to. It's campy, gory, dumb and fun. The actors are overall great and the lead role played by Mary Nepi does an excellent job! Will most definitely keep an eye out for more of her (hopefully) upcoming roles. I would give it 6.5 but since that's not an option I will settle for 6. Absolutely worth a watch if you like a mix of comedy and gore.
The Third Man (1949)
Decent movie with a TERRIBLE soundtrack.
In my opinion the movie is decent but not as great as most thought. What really grinds my gears would be the god awful music! I have never in my entire life heard a more lousy soundtrack to a movie. It's not only terrible but ill-fitting in every single way possible. This is a drama/mystery movie with a hint of thrills, yet the soundtrack tries to tell you it's some sort of Hawaiian hula girl movie. I can't imagine what went through their head when they decided the score. Otherwise it got great acting and a decent story but nothing we haven't seen or heard before or after this movie.
Lords of Chaos (2018)
A cheap Hollywood fairytale.
As a Norwegian Metalhead I find this movie beyond embarrassing. If you don't care about Black Metal or the story about Mayhem then I guess this could be worth watching for a quick laugh.
None of the characters are recognizable at all, (Don't get me started on how they butchered Varg's personality) the story makes no sense if you are familiar with the reality of what went down, some characters in the movie (like Øysteins girlfriend) didn't or doesn't even exist.
It's a cheap Hollywood fairytale with some vague similarities to the real story.
I give it 2 out of 10 because the lead character is a pretty decent actor (despite the fact that it had nothing to do with Øystein in real life) and some of the scenes looks decent enough.
