Under the Christmas Sky (2023)
Nothing to do with Christmas
Another crappy Hallmark movie, which is unfortunately common lately. This has really nothing to do with Christmas and everything to do with an agenda to pretend the actual meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ, is not the true meaning of Christmas. No thanks. Hallmark, the majority of your viewers are Christians, but you rarely mention that in all the "Christmas" movies you advertise all the time.
Aside from that, the lead actress is 40 next year, but looks way younger and acts that way, too. I cannot imagine anyone striving to be an astronaut complaining that her physical therapy exercises are boring. Astronauts are hard workers who go beyond the basic and get picked to be part of the space program. No one would pick a girl who isn't willing to do what she needs to in order to get back into the program. Really annoying. An old classmate of mine is an astronaut and she's not the type to sit around and say she doesn't want to do that work. Apparently no one at Hallmark has ever worked with athletes or military.
I'm only finishing this because I'm making ornaments. It's not very interesting. Nothing to do with Christmas.
Archetypes (2022)
Utterly VAPID
As the moderator says in "Billy Madison, "what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul." This misnamed podcast is not worth listening to, even to put you in a coma. It is a vanity project from someone with no actual experience or knowledge about anything other than grifting and using. Don't waste your time listening to vapid people talk about themselves as though they are St. Mother Teresa. There are numerous other podcasts by people who have actually done something other than use man after man and marry into a famous family, only to leave once you realized you aren't the most important person in the world. People who go ahead with lying their heads off on Oprah interviews while the grandfather is dying in the hospital should be shamed out of all good society and never seen or heard from again.
An Unexpected Christmas (2021)
Expected fun. Got woke garbage.
I was really looking forward to this film as I like both of the leads. There were plenty of fun scenes which I enjoyed, but the woke garbage ruined this film. Paul Campbell is not good as a writer. I won't be watching anymore garbage he puts out. Christmas is about Christianity, not wickedness. Hallmark refuses to share the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus' birth, and instead forces leftie garbage in. No thanks.
Reef Break (2019)
Clearly a vanity project for a bad actress
I was hoping this could be entertaining, but it's so bad I can't even watch it just to mock it. Clearly a huge vanity project for Poppy Montgomery who is swanning about in slinky, minimal clothing, tossing her frizzled "red" hair with a smirk on her over-tanned (and, sorry, but clearly not 24 years old) face. She doesn't need all that crap to be beautiful and dress her age AND fun. Instead she tries to look and act like she is 23 years old, when she most clearly is not. The character is an obnoxious, know-it-all Mary Sue with supposed skills which we have never seen. Apparently she's the most skilled, intelligent, well-rounded person in history. She always knows everything before anyone else, can brazen her way into any situation and get the better of it and anyone else, and always gets just what she wants and more, all while pretending she's 23 and trying to have a smart mouth while actually coming across like every other almost 50 year old woman who hasn't learned to dress stylishly her age and behave like a grown woman, not a 23 year old try hard. I literally laugh out loud constantly, with derision, not humor, because she's so clearly vain about her looks and thinks she looks HOT. She's beautiful, but the character is so stupid that she looks foolish. The plots are ridiculous. Her character would not be in all these situations. She literally has zero skills which would lead someone high up in a government to trust her or rely upon her. Certainly not for all the things she's been involved in. The whole "shorepound" storyline sounds so stupid. Her husband doesn't look or dress or behave like real federal agents (even the older ones who are the "character" of the office). It's NOT believable that they would be married. The deputy governor is the grumpiest looking person on tv and doesn't know how to smile. The detective is ok, but he's an idiot if he thinks Cat is at all special. She's a freaking cougar who thinks she's 23 and it's so off-putting. The music is popular songs which have already been popular, so it feels, again, like it's trying too hard to be the popular girl. The best shows feature songs which aren't popular or known yet and then make them popular, not the other way around. Six episodes in and Cat has no discernible means for living. She's blackmailed someone so she can live in a house, but that doesn't give her money or anything. There's NOTHING shown which would lead anyone to believe she's some kind of "fixer," especially not one who would be hired by a government official!!!! Every episode I roll my eyes a million times and think "Poppy thinks she's hot stuff." She could try to play a fantastic female character who acts her age, but she thinks she's still 23 and she's NOT. I'm not one to body shame and I'm not trying to here, but the wardrobe isn't suitable for a woman her age and who has had children. It doesn't flatter her like she thinks it does. In episode 6 she wears a structured black and white dress with her hair pulled back and she looks SO MUCH BETTER. That's how she should dress. There are plenty of beachy and tropical outfits she could wear which would flatter, too.
Mostly, stop trying to be 23 and the coolest girl and get over yourself.
