Black Panther (2018)

Villains these days I tell you!
12 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Have you watched "The Dark Knight"? Amazed by THE Joker? Wanted another villain like that in the superhero universe?

Well Killmonger comes close. The reason why he fights is realistic and his origin story is heart-wrenching. He knows what he wants and he knows how to get it. And he will get it.

I wish the movie was more about him then Black Panther (I mean I know the movie title is "Black Panther" but honestly Killmonger was a more interesting character; not that black panther wasn't at all). The movie should have shown more of him as he clearly had a hold on the audience. Also his dope soundtrack raised hairs on my neck (the metaphorical ones because I don't have any).

The colors and the African city in the movie was great! Action sequence and choreography was great too! My favorite thing about the movie were the scenes/camera angles (That killmonger scene at like the half point in the move AHH)!

A story well told
12 April 2019
It isn't slow. It isn't boring.

It is funny. It is well scripted. It has good character development. It has all the good story stuff.

Don't expect no Kaboom or Kapow. Expect only LOVE and growth!

Watch it so that you can go around saying "I watched a darn good movie"

Cheerio

Amazing cast, Bad Script
11 April 2019
It was good to see it wasn't "Bird Box (2018)" but nonetheless it still failed.

It started out with a good pace where we are introduced to the characters and quickly are familiar with what they are more likely to do in such a scenario. The casting was great and the family was pretty believable.

But the story, or more like where it went after the first half of the film, just, in plain words, failed. Let's just say it took an unnecessary turn. I was expecting the movie to be about meeting other survivors, finding out unique and smart ways to survive, or even see what the world is doing about it. Instead I got something that made me say "really? do you really think that is what will happen?". I am not going to spoil the movie but will say this, if I had only watched the first half of this movie, I would have actually enjoyed it to a good amount.

I do definitely want to see these actors in another apocalyptic movie but with a better script that does not tell a similar-already-told-story.

Drone (I) (2017)

Good plot, good ending, not bad acting, wasn't boring
21 July 2017
If you look past Neil and Ellen Wistin's cast's acting, this movie is pretty good. The plot is sound and the movie wasn't boring. It was slow but they didn't stretch it out longer than this movie should be. I think the movie got it's message across.

And it leaves you with a question as to why is the US still going on with it's drone strikes if they know that the collateral damages/civilian casualties will just facilitate terrorist groups get more bodies on their side? They are fabricating terrorists themselves and then going around killing them; and in that process, killing more civilians leading to more terrorists.

It is a pretty good movie for one time watch. Give it a go if you are not looking for something thrillingly entertaining but just a casual Friday afternoon.
