Total fail. BSG did it better
9 August 2023
I saw the buffy episode in real time. Loved it. There was a fable quality to Buffy.

This is sci-fi, for all intents and purposes. Akiva and the other lackluster from Lost need to take a long nap.

Hated every minute of this one. Just bad. Soooo very bad. La'an and Kirk better, but oh man. Shlock show of an episode.

After the last episode high, what were they thinking? I kept stopping to moan in disbelief. This is 7th episode shlock, not season 2.

For Shatner's sake! Want to see a musical home run in sci-fi? Watch BSG dudes.

This should be a lesson in, what to do to screw up a good show when no one asked you to do anything differently. It's another "Threshold" for me.

One of the Best-- Well crafted, touching, funny
7 February 2023
Been binging on Frasier lately, 20 years later. Came back to see what others thought of this episode which was so splendidly done. Every character shines, is swept up in short gem-like, iconic character-led moments. Was sure it would have gotten a high score and saw it hadn't. Don't know what others watched, this one was one of the best. I laughed out loud which I rarely do these days, and pulled on my heart strings once again. I watch it at times amazed how good a show it was, not a dull moment, just the best kind of entertainment. And everyone has such range, no wonder we miss it. Only lull was Daphne's mom, who I don't care for, or I would have given it a 10.

Frasier: The Harassed (2003)

Roz is hilarious! Rewatch soon!
2 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode brings to light how brilliantly funny Roz (Peri Gilpin) is, as are the cast at the radio station, which I would have loved to see much more of. The harassment seminar is one of the funniest segments in the series. Frasier has always been the weakest link, except when he's being emotive, then he shines. Foolish Frasier is tiresome, but I still love the show to death. Julia and Frasier was just OK, but Roz takes it up a few notches, as always.

Rewatch it all the time

I love this script. I can't get enough of the film. I love everything about it. Even the music is not old after 8 years. Just watched it again. Dialogue is smart, witty. Every character is fleshed out and real. Don't get the naysayers at all. Kudos to all involved.

An intricate, surprising gem

I was really taken with this film. It starts off about one theme, a professional failure, and then peels away unfolding like an emotional and psychological crap shoot. It builds in tension as it discards its facade. The dialog is on point, with the protagonist, a master of language, modifying his speech and tone to better fit those he converses with: his mother, wife, an elderly neighbor, a childhood friend. The dialog serves as its own character. I found myself stepping into the protagonist's shoes, reacting as I might to my past, taking a closer look whether I wanted to or not. Some nostalgic bells certainly rang for me, but that was the point. It is a film to watch slowly, to listen to without distraction. Perhaps it could have been tighter wound, crisper around the early edges, but then it's supposed to come at you from behind.
