Excellent!

What a wonderful, down to earth, refreshing, no frills series. As this is mainly about sex crimes, it can be quite graphic verbally and some scenes may be hard to watch. Definitely an adult programme with adult themes. The characters are well fleshed out, and you watch the initial tensions within ease over the course of the series. There is a story arc that spans the 3 seasons but it doesn't detract from the main work of the unit. I'm not going to spoil it all and think you should watch and make up your own minds. I will say that I loved the way it ended. It makes a change to have a proper ending instead of leaving the viewers wondering. My congratulations to Walter Presents on a brilliant series and keep it up please.

Murdoch Mysteries (2008– )

Where are the Murdoch Mysteries heading?

Series 1 - 11 were absolutely wonderful. William was inventing. Crabtree was hilariously naming stuff! Julia was moving with the times, as you would expect of a worldly woman. Everything was working, staying within the boundaries of the time they were living in. Series 12 comes along and things changed quite dramatically. William wasn't inventing very much. There started to be more attention to the main characters personal lives than murder or mystery. Now on series 13 and it just seems to be worsening. William hasn't invented anything, and, dare I say it? Yes, woke! Why are we suddenly putting today's social values in an early 1900s setting? I just don't get it at all. They'll all be using mobile phones and the internet next.

Intended to watch first couple of episodes and ended up binge watching the whole first series. Thoroughly enjoyed. A bit confusing at times until you make the connection of what it going on. Can't wait for the second season and hope it doesn't disappoint.

And this is comedy?

I'm sorry HBO, with all the hype about this show and Hugh Laurie being in it, I thought it would be good but it isn't. Looks like the money was spent on the sets and costumes and no attempt to be actually funny. Hugh is a great actor and comedian but he seems terribly wasted. The guy from 'Voyager' (Neelix) is also a very capable actor and he's wasted too. Just my opinion but won't be watching any more.

A different take.

It's not often we will sit in silence throughout all 3 episodes, but we did. The first two episodes were really good but, the third left us a little confused. However, the final few moments were unexpected and somewhat redeemed the third episode. No spoilers, watch it yourself and decide just as we did.

Revolution (2012–2014)

Excellent series, cut short in its prime.
11 August 2014
Revolution is an excellent series with an outstanding cast and, yes, I am biased.

It's a story that explores what our world might be like without electricity. You follow along with a small group of people who just happen to know a thing or two about what's happened and who try, with the best of intentions, to make it right.

There are the odd couple of episodes that make you think 'what on earth ...!', but all in all it is very good, well scripted and well acted. It just finished too soon!

If you enjoyed Revolution and would like to see it return for more series then please sign the petition at http://www.thepetitionsite.com/553/454/200/revoluti on-season-3/ more signatures can make a difference.
