The Simpsons: Girls Just Shauna Have Fun (2022)
Knee-jerk reviews
Getting pretty tired of seeing decent or even outright fantastic episodes get automatically dumped on by imdb reviewers (many of whom didn't actually watch.) The episode was plenty fun and I'm glad we finally got to see a little more of the fairly obscured Chalmers family life.
The Simpsons: The Sound of Bleeding Gums (2022)
A great return of a classic character
Bleeding Gums never had a great quantity of episodes, but the few he did have were of truly exceptional quality. This episode is no different. It was great getting some more backstory on this classic character. The songs were a lot of fun and I very much enjoyed that the show made use of actual deaf voice actors for the first time.
The Simpsons: Lisa's Belly (2021)
Simpsons are on a roll
The Simpsons are on a roll this season and I'm all for it. This particular story adds a new angle to the Marge/Lisa dynamic that's never been explored before: how the words of parents can affect the way children view themselves. I would even go as far as to say that this storyline feels like something they would have done some 30 years ago. It's THAT effective.
The Simpsons: The Wayz We Were (2021)
You've watched the wrong episode
I've noticed something about the viewers who have rated this one negatively: they've all watched the wrong episode. It's clear they used a third party site and the wrong episode was provided for this title. Watch the ACTUAL episode (NOT the one with the skull bottle.) It's very good.
The Simpsons: Bart's in Jail! (2021)
Classic Simpsons Grift
There is nothing better than the Simpsons taking on a grift or getting involved in a grift. Great commentary on a societal issue that has plagued us all, plus plenty of funny moments. This should have been the season opener.
Chad: Lakehouse (2021)
I really don't understand the hate
It almost seems as though the people reviewing this show don't actually watch it. This one was maybe my favorite one of them all. Nasim plays the role of an awkward teenager with ease, and in some ways, better than most actual teen actors. The humor is as down as the overcast weather that looms above every episode, making for an esthetically pleasing and hilarious viewing experience over the course of the half hour.
