Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017)
Tragic and hillarous
A true masterpiece ! So well crafted with amazing cast. So much love and care have gone into creating complex and beautiful characters each with their own vulnerabilities and arc.
American Utopia (2020)
Speachless!
The best thing I have seen this year .Amazingly capturing such a unique and soulful performance. I can't even begin to imagine the amount of work put into the design and choreography specially how everyone's individual spirit and character is so present on the stage while being woven with other performances into such a complex tapestry.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
left me feeling empty inside
What a waste of talent, money, time and effort. If only there could be a decent script.
Locke & Key (2020)
If you have read the comics you will be very disappointed!
Even though it's exciting to see some additions to the original story finding that some of the favorite characters are drastically butchered or completely deleted is very painful.
And if you have no point of reference the terrible CGI , terrible script with bland dialogues ,unimaginative art direction and bad costume design should be offensive enough . This is just bad on all levels and made for a very young and undemanding audience with no exposure to true cultural .
The aim has been to brig more diversity and tick specific boxes disregarding the damage to entire plot and storyline and shamefully they removed the fact that uncle Duncan is gay.
Perhaps the most disturbing fact is that I can never unsee that terrible wig on young Kinsey head.
Io sono l'amore (2009)
I hate to be inside the head of somebody that liked this film , it must be so boring in there
I could hardly see any purpose for this film I lost interest from the first 2 minutes but tolled myself that something amazing must happen and everything is just building up towards it but I was totally wrong. There is not a single interesting thing happening I was hoping for some interesting hot sexual scenes at least which I didn't get . There is a lot of food details which are mostly clumsy and unprofessional from a catering point of view. I think perhaps the scene that Tilda Swinton ate the shrimp was the highlight of the film and gave me some hope to think that something interesting might happen. The only thing that could save this film could have been a sudden alien encounter or appearance of zombies .
I actually got up to write this review and rate it half way through the film while I was still listening to it. In short it was awful and extremely over rated .
Exorcist: The Beginning (2004)
Indiana Jones and The Devil's seal
I honestly think it was another episode of Indian Jones that were named Exorsit by mistake.
I mean everything is there, Pyramids, excavation, holes, disgusting insects , secret doors, pretty lonely blond in the middle of the desert, strange locals and their rituals, weird alcoholic geezer and Germans.
It wasn't a great disappoint ,as I knew its not going to be good but I was a bit offended with the CGI, I'm not sure why people use them still for obvious effects, it just puts me off totally.
but as soon as you realise its another Indian Jones film you will calm down , and will know there wont be any scary scenes only jumpy ones which are cheated in to give you a bit of buzz thinking you were scared.
The only thing which makes it watchable of course is Stellan Skarsgård which I'm sure he is regretting it now.
It only cost me a pound to watch this film ,if it was anything more I would have been very angry. it is easy to smell the bad films nowadays so I play it safe and just get them from my local library.
The Omen (2006)
un6essful
Yes, why did they have to do another remake ,but I think everyone knows the answer it was just so convenient to have an Omen released on 6/06/06 and as you see it on the DVD extras the film already had a release date before they start making it. The actors are obviously not tuned in properly , perhaps because it was very rushed. Mia Farraw of course brings a bit of creep which is very appreciable, specially in the strawberry feeding scene. Pete Postlethwaite and David Thewlis also bring a bit of life but it doesn't help the dead and fake atmosphere that much even though they are powerful actors.
Obvousely all the goofs and obvious errors doesn't help either as well as the CG glass death scene of father Brennan ,
I don't think it would ever work when you are trying to convince the viewers that Prague is London by adding fake street name, Sainsberry's trolley and a red post box. but after all that you can sometimes have fun with such film and just laugh along with it, which was what I did and had a bit of entertainment.
I'm not against bad remakes.I think they add more value to the originals ,so bring it on lets have more and more bad remakes.
Northfork (2003)
Magical Dream
this film haunted me so well that I had to watch it twice in a day.The cast and performances are great specially James Woods and Nick Nolte's which I shall always remember them for this film. The cinematography with its dreamlike grey colour is beautiful.every element matches so perfectly and creates the atmosphere to tell the story of a disappearing town and the realm of after life in a very Innocent poetic way rather then having a depressing approach which can easily be done. The costume and set design is very surreal which would satisfy the fans of surreal arts.If you have an imagination and are able to have creative dreams ,you will love this film and could become one of your memorable dreams. This film also have a neat sense of humour which is admirable.
