Plot is Weak and Superficial
9 February 2020
Final of the movie and the murderer is clear at the mid of the movie when they went to house of Battal. Police officer Idris sees the girl of Battal is sick and she is in danger of infection. This evokes the idea that this is a transplantation case. In addition, they went to visit the family of Pamuk again and her mother said they all donated blood. This has proven that they looked for a suitable donator and this person was Pamuk, so she was killed. The rest one hour of movie is pretty boring because plot is not wisely constructed.

Casting is rich in terms of famous and successful Turkish players such as Sener SEN, Cem YILMAZ, Cetin TEKINDOR but I didn't like the flow of the plot. There is nothing makes the movie special. It is terribly superficial to be a detective movie

I left at the mid of movie
7 February 2020
My suggestion to movie maker is him to decide whether make a historical movie or romantic movie but not to mix them together. Movie starts boring and goes like that for 1 hour until the time when I had to leave.

Its plot is plain and easy, and its actors and actresses are the worst I've ever watched In Turkish cinema. Defne says she broke up her 5 years old relationship and she is not ready to start another one; however, after day she moved to home of Kerem and they started having sex immediately. There is no romantic love or starting phase. They just decide to love each other.

Music chose among scenes is wrong and tedious.

There is nothing you can get by watching this movie(?)

Good Idea but Bad Execution
3 February 2020
It is a serious criticism through Democratic Germany that deviates from the main principles of socialism over time, first alienated to its people and then turned into a totalitarian, oppressive police state.

Let those who love symbolic expression watch. Otherwise, you may find the movie unnecessary and boring. It is more than 2 hours and is unnecessarily extended.

In the middle of the movie, you already understand what will happen in the end. The scenario has remained very simple, but the message to be given is good.

Legends Never Die!
29 January 2020
I felt in the same way I did 6 - 8 years ago. I am happy as much as like I saw my childhood friends. This movie is the best thing Netflix did. I can't express my feelings anymore. I wish it would be 4-5 hours.

Rise of Empires: Ottoman (2020–2022)

I AM SHOCKED BY NETFLIX
26 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
As a Turk, I have studied the history of Ottoman Empire since I was a child. This documentary seems to be trying to show that both Christianity and Islam let their followers down in the battleground. The reason why Fatih Sultan Mehmet want to conquer Constantinople is depicted as "spiritual" reason in the documentary, yet it is due to economical and geographical boundary in the reality.

Secondly, in Netflix "documentary - TV series MIX" conquest is discussed with the point of view of Giovanni and he leads the field. In addition, Fatih Sultan Mehmet is shown as someone who is not capable, not well prepared and even in a scene he is punished with whip. However, in reality Ottomans never spills the blood of royal family and when they had to do, they just made their son "drowned".

Thirdly, mortar was designed by Fatih Sultan Mehmet but Netflix shows it like somebody else did. Netflix shows him like he abruptly decided to conquer and did it immediately. However, he also prepared for this conquest many years. ,

If you ask me "how can you know more than Netflix and claim these are the errors" because the person they chose as history professor "Celal Sengor" (the fat - wearing glasses guy) is indeed geologist in Istanbul Technique University. He has nothing to do with history and even worse, he claims that Ottoman never became an "Empire". If you look at the title of this documentary series, it says "rise of empires" ironically, Netflix ask someone's opinion who claims Ottoman is not empire.

This is the last time I watch Netflix, I can't stand this kind of corruption.

Partially Biased

I liked the colourful videos and narrator. However, there is American favored viewpoint. More importantly, in episode 5 there is a world map showing that Eastern part of Turkey Republic as Armenia. What an earth is this possible? Remove this mistaken map.

Same as Others
27 October 2019
I have watched a dozen of documentaries about veganism and this is not different. It tells the exactly same things in the same order such as "doctors just get 4 hours of lesson about diet and nutrition in their whole education life".

I have heard this sentence in all of the documentaries so far. I'm looking for new info and bored of these repetitive documentaries.

The True Cost (2015)

Compulsory Consumption
11 October 2019
I live in Turkey and there are many "cheap" textile factory in terms of their work conditions and quality of their products. People buy more items than they actually need and this behaviour causes textile industry growing day by day.

Any kind of shoe production costs approximately 2$ - 5$ dollars, Any kind of t-shirt, sweater, shirt costs 1$ - 3$ dollars, Any kind of hat, sock, belt costs 0 - 1$ dollars,

Nike, Adidas, H&M, Zara, Pull & Bear, 21 Forever, Gucci, Berschka ect. doesn't matter where you buy your clothes, they are all produced very cheap and sold for five times more expensive than they worth.

Why do you pay extra money for famous brand logo?

Being minimalist is similar to being vegan & vegetarian and it means sacrificing luxury for the long term benefit.

Lacking in Depth
11 October 2019
There isn't much information about minimalism and it doesn't properly offer something different and remarkable. You better Google the term "minimalism" and read the first page you see, and you have better understanding in a 5 minutes rather than watching this whole documentary.

Detailed Analysis of "Cowspiracy"
10 October 2019
Cowspiracy tells the consequences of the consumption of animal based products compared to plant based dietary. What's more? It also mentions to global warming issue and how livestock worsen it. I heard this from Bill Gates for the first time and laughed him when he said livestock is much more guilty than cars in relation with global warming. However, I was amazed after I made research and thereupon watching this documentary reinvigorated my idea. Graphics is effectively used and statistics provided makes this documentary entertaining, educating and must-see!

I took a course named as environmental sustainability at university. I can honestly say that what we learned is clearly similar to the facts stated in this documentary.

There is something we call like "footprint". When you consume an apple, you also consume the water used to irrigate it, you consume the oil used to transport it, so on. When you eat something, next time think about "how much might you be consuming actually?"

Holland has 17 million population compared to 1.3 billion populated India. However, a Dutchman consumes 7 times higher than an Indian does. Footprint of the Holland country is nearly close to 119 million people.

I went vegetarian because I want to eat safe and healthy. Seeing that vegetarians contribute to world just by choosing "right" food, makes me happy everyday when I go to supermarket. Everyone can do something to save our planet.

If you wonder about why many people get cancer in 21th century, read the researches and watch documentaries. Guess what? Animal based dietary is guilty for it !

Detailed Analysis of "What the Health"
10 October 2019
A documentary by the producer of Cowspiracy (another good health documentary). I suppose he is Jewish and selling vegan products because vegan dietary products are expensive and these Jewish are trying to seize the power of the market held by diary product sellers for many years.

First of all, I agree with that in 21st century, eating any animal food is highly dangerous. Producers are trying every way to maximize their profit and they feed animals with "garbage", so to say. Consuming meat, milk or eggs has the risk of contaminated by antibiotics, GDO based chaff and corn, so on. I nearly quit eating animal based dietary. However; claiming "one cigarette equals to eating one egg per day" is nonsense, as it is just result of a research but not proven by other supportive conducted researches.

Secondly, as every human is unique, every disease is unique as well. They claim that giving up pills and starting vegan diet helped ill people to recover from sickness. How can you claim such a polemic matter by just showing "someone" as supportive example? This shows that documentary is biased in favour of vegan product seller companies.

Thirdly and lastly, we are aware of the fact that governments all over the world say lies to their citizens as to war, health and economy. We have to feed 7+ billion people with limited "healthy" food supply. Some have to eat garbage while some enjoy consuming healthy and safe. Wheat and rice are said to be two most important saver of the people because they form dietary of nearly 50% people on this planet.

In conclusion, if you are a person who watch documentary just because want to eat and stay healthy, keep in mind that if you do not raising your own livestock, do not consume animal products. In addition, be aware the fact that if an animal gets poisoned or contaminated, so does its milk, egg, and meat. Also, consuming vegetable is not 100% safe because they modified their genetics to get extra yield and GDO plants are maybe dangerous for our health, we will see in the near future as more researches conducted. Finally, this documentary is just giving a clue about danger of animal based feeding but that's all. It sucks while giving proof and explaining it.

As a result: *Do not eat animal based products *Do not give up your pills if you're told to do so by your doctor *Do not believe every documentary you watch and make more research on the WEB

Introduction to Civilization
10 October 2019
I had already knew what was told in this documentary before having watched it. I watched it with a hope of learning something new, but it was disappointing. It handles the subject superficially and assumptions maden may be wrong, at least I sense it like that. Anyway, the worst documentary is better than the average movie and TV series, that is why I rated it 7 stars. Maybe reading the book is better than its documentary.

Slow Going Drama Movie
8 October 2019
It is a drama movie presenting philosophic questioning on eartling and criticism against system. It tells the story of well-known character of DC, Joker, and how he evolved from a mentally ill person to killing machine & insane person.

I didn't like the cigarette product placement and its slow going plot. I wish there had been more drama and action scene in it.

It is worth to watch if you know enough about previous DC movies. Otherwise, it might seems to be bad movie.

I highly recommend it.

Funny(?) Face
19 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
SUMMARY: I am not culturally used to 60s Hollywood and I thought I couldn't watch a musical movie, but my prejudice has changed. I can't say it is a very good movie but you should watch it if you love Audrey...

GOOD SIDES: When leading roles bookshop sales girl Audrey (Jo Stockton) and photographer Fred, (Dick Avery) who convinces the owner of the fashion magazine Quality to take her as model, flied to Paris together, they say they are tired of flight and want to rest. However, they come across in Paris streets while exploring the city. This was good and made me laugh.

Nonetheless, music and sound choices are good point of the movie.

Towards the end of the movie, Audrey and Fred walks on the water among ducks and white pigeons. This romantic scene is my favourite.

BAD SIDES: I couldn't stand the woman director of Quality. She is annoying and talks fast and depressed me.

In addition, seeing how a young bookshop sales girl was kissed by an elderly photographer and they became sweetheart shocked me. There should have been a younger actor for this role.

Plot is weak and dance scenes are insufficient.

Beyond Food (2017 TV Movie)
3/10
Detailed Analysis of Beyond Food
18 August 2019
1) TECHNICALLY: Documentary doesn't consult the opinion of doctors and it is limited to experiences of a group of people. Music is nearly never used and there isn't any animation or informative graphics as far as I am concerned. Narrative way is boring and sometimes I had to stop and concentrate again to watch the rest of it. It sometimes gets off the point.

2) THOUGHTS ABOUT CONTENT: Documentary doesn't rebut any scientific research on baked vegetables, rather it focuses potential benefits of raw food diet and experiences of people. It is right in a sense that junk food and processed food are harmful for our health and this has been already proven. However, switching to raw diet may cause some digestion problems due to potential risk of bacteria and fertilizer residual on vegetable and fruit. Another question is that, how can we eat in outdoor? While even vegetarian restaurants're still hard to find and they're expensive, how can we sustain this kind of raw diet and what can we eat after 2 months has passed? Probably, it will be a circle of the same meals after 2 months due to lack of enough variety of nutrients or expense. I have maden my decision on that negative health effects outweighs the potential benefits of raw diet. Documentary failed to make audience believe that raw diet is healthier.

Detailed Analysis of That Sugar Film
17 August 2019
1) TECHNICALLY: It engagedly depicts the problems and consequences of sugar consumption. There are highly funny and educative illustrations and animations inside the film. Contrary beliefs and thoughts stated by scientist sponsored by multinational companies are properly disproved. At the end of the film, there is a video clip summarizing the whole of it. Music and sound usage are appropriate and it's far away from being a just boring educator or documentary.

2) SUMMARY: A man will be father in a few months and he wonders what happens inside his body when he consumes sugar. He didn't used to eat anything containing sugar for 2 years but now he goes on a sugar diet. He eats 40 teaspoon of sugar everyday for 2 months to see what changes after all. Basically, he gets fat and face with fatty liver, which causes diabetes and heart disease.

3) FACTS: Sugar stimulate the same area in brain with cocaine and having sex. Even though you don't eat junk food, you still consume sugar by eating canned food, yoghurt, fruit juice and other beverages with artificial sweetener. Calorie is not responsible for getting fat alone, rather it results from which type of calorie you take. 1 grams oil has 9 calorie and 1 grams sugar has 4 calorie, however you get fatter when you consume sugar rather than oil. Just as in meat industry, multinational companies promote and sponsor researchers to justify their sugared products as healthy. Sugar has been in our life since 50 years and our body didn't evolve to process sugar like a factory. If you are fat, pimpled, diabetic or sick from coronary vessel system, SUGAR is guilty for it.

Facts about Food Industry outside of the USA
16 August 2019
As well as agreeing with ideas presented in this documentary, I must admit that situation outside of the USA is worse than Americans experience. In Turkey (Turquia), we don't have any strict rules related to food industry or farmers. My country consume worse and more expensive food. I know there are much more worse countries all around the world. However, American people cry a lot louder about their food chain than every other country.

1) Burger King, Mc Donalds, KFC, Feast, WalMart are ruining every country and its cultural & healthy dietary habit.

2) Today when I go to Migros (a national supermarket chain in Turkey similar to WalMart), I can't find anything doesn't contain GMO (genetically modified organism) or I can't find any canned food or breakfast food that don't contain saturated or trance oil. Guess what?

3) American companies came my country and by giving bribe to politicians, bought massive farm lands and made terrible contracts with farmers.

4) Do you know Marshall Plan after WW2? America dictated that "don't plant sunflower, don't plant cotton, USA will send you necessary food to feed your people, you just have to plant GMO vegetable."

Finally, we can't now plant organic seed because Israel bought every licence and rights. America has started to getting its just deserts ;)

Peaky Blinders (2013–2022)
7/10
Comprehensive Analysis of Peaky Blinders
11 August 2019
1) Shortcomings: It tells the story of gangsters living in Birmingham. However, it is disapponting for action lovers because there are more sex scenes than gun battle and explosion. Especially, in the first 2 seasons you should be patient to understand what is going on there and you might frequently ask yourself "Am I watching a romantic love series or a brutal gangster series?" In addition, if you are used to popular culture type of series, I guess you will quit watching this after its first season. It is like a mind game and you have to pay attention to details. The story is slow-going and scenes are extended by songs. So, you have to watch long scenes without any words but songs. These gang members were not relatives in real, but they are in series. So, it doesn't truly cover the real story of them. There are excessively cocaine, alcohol, cigarette and nudity demonstration. Of course these are what we expect from this kind of plot, but it is unnecessarily excessive. Finals of season 1 and 2 are worthless.

2) Good Sides: Characters are well played, especially Arthur and Thomas Shelby. Decor, stage, and setting represent the 1920s of Birmingham. Finals of season 3 and 4 are quite satisfying. Fights finally break out after season 3. I loved the choice of songs even though they are excessively used. 5th season is on the way and I guess it will be the best one of the rest. It is a fascinating TV series if we categorize it in drama rather than crime and action. Finally, my rating is 7 stars for the first 4 seasons.

Nearly Best Heist Plot
8 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In first season, especially in first episodes, it gets boring but after they start to action, it turn out to be a masterpiece of heist!

1) Professor is the best character in series. He play very good and inherently.

2) Plot is fastmoving and sometimes you really think they get busted. However, it amazes you after every scene and this adds excitement to it.

3) Sex scenes, dirty talk and LGBT characters are not necessary. Actually, they are surplus. But you know Netflix, they always come up with these things.

4) I think they missed the opportunity to become most favorable TV series of all times because the reason I've commented above.

5) I know they will continue to make more seasons because it is popular and the TV series which was thought to be just 2 season will be ruined with hasty plot. Because in third season, it started to losing good points it had in first and second season.

6) Tokyo character is ruining everything and she is irritating. I don't exactly understand why people love her.

Narcos (2015–2017)

Close to Epic
6 March 2019
We can divide this series into two part. First part is Season I & II and second part is last (III) Season.

In the first part, I would give it 10/10 stars. Acting, soundtrack, place and plot are incredible. It tells the story of Pablo Escobar. Everything works perfectly fine. Plot is fastmoving and sometimes real bust scenes are shown and you can compare them with series scenes.

In the second part, it focuses on Cali Cartel but Agent Peña is not with us anymore, besides Pablo Escobar. First part was more successful and entertaining with those two characters. Third season seems to be extra action scenes for those who fell in love with first two seasons of Narcos.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed watching first two seasons of it. Third season is not bad but it overshadowed of first two ones. Narcos is my third favorite series.

Common Boring Movie by Cem YILMAZ
27 February 2019
Whenever I watch Cem YILMAZ and want to laugh, I am disappointed. Its scenario as well as acting is lower than expected.

Cem YILMAZ has two masterpieces: Yahsi Bati and Arog. Apart from these two movies, it is better to watch his stand-up shows, not his movies.

Most of the time, he chooses same players to work with in his movies. This is why he cannot come up with innovation.

It is fun to watch and you can enjoy while watching it. However, after the half part of the movie, you start to get bored because plot sucks after a point.
