The Kid (2019)
Not terrible
I kinda liked it, Ethan Hawke seems to be settling into the western genre, I hope the kid that played Rio goes a long way in his acting career. Dane DeHann plays a perfectly flawed Billy the Kid but I have no words for the character Chris Pratt portrayed, a super weird, sick twisted dude. It's not a bad movie but not a cinematic wonder either
Glitch (2015)
Ummm what?
I would have given this a much higher score as I adored this show, loved it and then came season 3, utter confusion, character letdowns and nonsense. Watch season 1 and 2 and imagine season 3, you'll be much happier
Lady of Csejte (2015)
Worth the watch!!
I took a chance on this movie on a very boring evening, I found the gothic theme very appealing. It was all fantastic and creepy. I wasn't sure that Lady Bathory was what she was suspected or perhaps one of her two minions. Let me tell you, Aletta stole the show. I hope Isabelle Allen will go far in her acting career because she's off to a fantastic start. Svetlana Khodchenkova was brilliant in her role as were the actresses that played Katja, Dorato and Iiona and of course Mischa. I can speak German but for those that can't I wish there were subtitles because it was brilliant. It's definitely not a movie for those not into the gothic creepiness but for those who enjoy it, this is a great pick!!
Askeladden: I Dovregubbens hall (2017)
Fantastic!!
I loved every minute of it, can hardly wait for the second movie to be available!!
Beowulf & Grendel (2005)
Worth the watch
I really enjoyed this. Stellen Skarsgard was a rather pathetic, annoying, whiney character and he was the downside for me plus I wished we knew more about the trolls.
Carnival Row (2019)
Awesome!!
I loved every minute of this show. The costumes, sets, artistry, graphics, all absolutely amazing and as another reviewer said, it pulls you right into that world. I can't wait for season 2!!!
The Lion King (2019)
A Must See!!
I loved every second of it, the visual effect we absolutely outstanding. I think Beyoncé was an ok pick for Nala but I expected her voice to be louder or stronger somehow. It's a great movie, definitely a must see!!
The Night Of (2016)
Fantastic!!
We watched this in 2 evenings and to binge like that had to make it good. John Turturro was absolutely amazing as a bumbling lawyer with extreme eczema, all the acting was great. Someone else mentioned blood spatter and that was something that was a glaring oversight. For a murder scene like that he would have been covered and even if he had time to clean up and the police would have used the handy dandy UV light which would have made Naz's life a lot different. It really was heartbreaking to see what prison did to him and how his muslim community turned on him. I loved that Box and Mrs. Weiss weren't going to let dirtbag Ray off, it was an actual relief. The last scene of Naz sitting where he'd been with Andrea showed that even though he was innocent, it really buggered up his life. Last but not least, John went and got the cat back, one of my favorite scenes. I read there's discussions for a season 2, I really hope they go ahead with it
The Last Czars (2019)
Very Good!
I really enjoyed this, I didn't expect for it to be a docu drama but I've seen ones similar and they were also good. This is fairly historically accurate which was a nice surprise. It's just hard to believe someone like Nicky could screw things up so badly. It doesn't seem like there was much common sense then. This was definitely worth a binge watch!
Always Be My Maybe (2019)
Hilarious
Definitely some slow parts but overall so darn funny!!
What/If (2019)
Really enjoyed it!
Some of the plot lines don't make sense but not knowing what Anne Is up to makes it binge worthy Renee Zellweger kills it in a good way and her wardrobe is amazing
The Punisher (2017)
Loved it
The only reason I gave it a 8 is because season 2 wasn't nearly as good as season 1. It would have been awesome if Micro had been in an episode. I didn't think Billy would die though and the very last scene sucked. Hoping more for season 3
Chambers (2019)
It had potential
I give this a 8 for creep factor. Uma Thurman is amazing in this, all the acting is good. Once the big reveal finally came to light is was really disappointing. I won't waste my time on a second season.
Creed II (2018)
Loved It!!
The only reason I didn't rate it higher is because we all knew how the story would go but it was still a really good movie!
Titans (2018)
Really good
I would have given this a much higher rating but after the last episode the season sunk like the Titanic. I get where they were trying to go with it but it ended up a confusing mess. I binged watched it on Netflix and was really loving it and checking when season 2 would drop but after the last episode I'm not too anxious for season 2.
Hunter Killer (2018)
Love It!!
This is a fantastic movie. It's got action, submarines, a war ship, navy seals, Russians and last but not least Captain Joe Glass. Watch it and love it!!
The Shannara Chronicles (2016)
Really good!!
I agree with some of the reviews about the acting but season 2 was so much better, it's like everyone settled into their characters and then it was cancelled. It's really a shame
Book Club (2018)
It was cute
I didn't expect much from this movie but really was pleasantly surprised. Of course it wasn't a mystery what would happen but it was nice seeing successful women that age falling in love. I loved seeing Andy Garcia in this movie!!
Viking Destiny (2018)
Not bad
For all the nay sayers, why watch a film to the end if it's so terrible? It's not a bad flick, I love the female lead and hope the actress finds huge success in that industry
Outlander: Man of Worth (2019)
Meh
This was marginally better than last week, I wonder if anyone from the cast or crew read these reviews. Sam and Cait made this series come to life, they brought these fanatastic characters to reality, gained fans from around the world and now they can watch it fizzle and die a slow and painful death. Season 3 was just ok and I'd hoped that this season would bring it back to life but sadly the Outlander world needs CPR. I won't invest in next season because it'll be a recurring disappointment
Overboard (2018)
Surprisingly OK
It's nothing like the original and for the most part the acting was subpar but I still liked it
Sharp Objects (2018)
Yes!
This is a fantastic mini series. There were parts that could have moved a little faster and I wished more of Camille's flashbacks could have been explained but the twist at the end was fantastic!! Patricia Clarkson nailed the role of Adora, it was a great cast!
Outlander: Providence (2019)
Horrible
The only reason I gave it such a high score is because I watched the entire episode. This isn't the Outlander of season 1 and 2. This season and this episode in particular is so poorly acted. I know they're adding new characters and branching out but seriously this is just stupid. Brianna is increasingly pompous and annoying and Roger doesn't have an active brain cell, they make a perfect couple. The only character in this episode that seemed remotely "Outlanderish" was Marsali. I can't see myself investing in season 5, so very disappointing.
47 Meters Down (2017)
Kate can you hear me?
This is most definitely a thriller!! I read the reviews and I'm surprised this movie didn't get much better reviews. It had me literally biting my nails. One thing is for sure, I don't want to be anywhere a shark is. I definitely recommend this movie!!
Bird Box (2018)
Love It!
Any movie that has me crying at the end is fairly rare but this one managed to do just that. This was an amazing cast, Sandra Bullock is PHENOMENAL, there's no other word. It was intense, yes the plot bounced around a bit but with the flashbacks I don't think there was any other way. It was heartbreaking seeing the characters die one by one and most of all Tom and to see him fighting it. The scene where they are in the rapids blind folded and when she's trying to follow the birds to find the community and the entity is chasing her, I can't imagine how hard that must have been to film. Sandra deserves another Oscar and the kids were pretty amazing too. I highly recommend, it's a nail bitter and tear jerker all in one!
