The Marsh (2006)
Ahem.

A Halloween movie--not terrible if you actually watch it on that Holiday, with a few drinks, as you do other things.

Not an amazing or terribly original film. Smooth and seamless special FX.

Forrest Whitaker does a very fine job...with what he is given screenplay-(and direction)wise.

Just don't expect to be amazed by the plot and execution.

No one who worked on this project should be shattered if some viewers notice that it was done for the money.

Nothing wrong with that.

Entertainment.

Dreamscape (1984)
Because it can be done.

I saw this film a few years ago--and recently purchased it. One of the things that lends credence to the premise is that this sort of thing is as do-able as remote viewing, which has been lab proved for some time. One may feel or postulate that it is trying to be too many things as a film. I don't think so. As Dylan (the Bob one) says in the Wonderboys soundtrack..."Things have changed." We are all doing a great deal of things we didn't used to do--our movies should mirror this. Particularly the astutely visionary ones. Dennis Quaid is younger here--and yet he resonates with the plot--as does Kate Kapshaw-- they both gave an ethereal performance.

Give the U.S.A. a little time--this art is ahead of us.

I am not going to try to sound like a know it all in the realm of cgi and European cinema. This film moved me, and that's the point. Issues like spiritual influence--are you really separated from the Gods (plural)??? I am not an automatic animation buff--although that may change--and I was temporarily taken aback when I noticed the amount of cgi used. But Charlotte Rampling offered a perfect segue into this--other world. It, with only a slight suspension of judgment, became...seamless--and sometimes really sensitively intimidating--at just the correct points. I found that I was entirely, completely, wrong to question the cgi. What a great film! Spiritual. Fast. Emotional. Trancendent, Intelligent. Luminous! Aldous Huxley would call it..."transporting"! Watch this for your...self. It's certainly about novelty!

Popcorn can be good for you.

Eddie Izzard has described American movies as causing one to throw a lot more popcorn into the mouth--at a higher velocity--than, say, some British (yawn) efforts. Having just been given the opportunity by a friend to view the screener for "Screech of The Decapitated!" a decidedly American (deliberately "B" over the top super-spoof) science fantasy/comedy movie, it occurred to me that it could be quite ideal to have Izzard doing the commercial segues when it appears on TV. He could be making some strange recipe--on worldwide TV--in his convertible at a drive-in movie location, with friends (maybe invite some of the actors in this film). By the way, "the concession stand will close in 5 minutes!" The actors are really into the spoof.

Oil Storm (2005 TV Movie)
10/10
Close to what will happen--oil wise.
7 June 2005
Forget ridiculous comments i.e. "Bush Bashing" (which there was none of). It's the Oil...stupid. (Like during Clinton admin "...the economy stupid...". Keep your eye on the Ball--the Earth! Forget low budgets and think about no budgets at all. Its time to wake up now. Well produced and directed--and not over the top as it could have easily been. When the price of oil per barrel really does approach 70 US Dollars --maybe you shouldn't have been watching "The Ring" on the opposing TV network...duh! Prepare for the future by giving those who do look forward their kudos--instead of after the fact. Henry Raymond AUTHOR "The Third Kind of Midnight".
