Nuntã pe bani (2023)
Mixed feelings
So, if I got it right, this is not a sequel to Mirciulica, but a story about similar characters happening in a different universe, if I may put it this way. I was looking for a continuation of the story that happened between Mircea and Ioana. I've seen that Ioana Repciuc was available, she's a big part of the Mircea Bravo YouTube channel. I really liked the chemistry between Mircea and Ioana. Nunta pe bani isn't a bad movie, but I can't say I found myself laughing throughout the movie. The premise was good, but the story felt a little rushed. The events didn't really seem credible. Overall, I think Mirciulica is the better movie.
Strong Girl Nam-soon (2023)
Started great, but went nowhere
The first few episodes were really intriguing, I was really curious what they'd do with these new powers of a Strong Girl. Gang Nam-Soon was a pretty interesting character at first too. But after about half a season, they showcased her powers less and less until this show lost its purpose, its idea. Also, the special effects were pretty disappointing. Nothing stood out in this show. Nam-Soon didn't do anything that special with her powers. At least Bong-Soon had that well-choreographed fight against that mob. And it seems they're hinting to another spin-off / sequel (maybe a season 2?). But I'd really want to see more of the OG Bong-Soon, maybe a team-up or something.
Orphan Black (2013)
Tatiana Maslany is a genius!
I've seen a few actors playing different characters in the same movie / series (eg. James McAvoy in Split), but Tatiana is just on a whole other level.
Each character she plays just feels like a different character in every sense: looks, accent, personality, everything.
There are some epic moments when Tatiana is even playing a character pretending to be another character (eg. Tatiana playing Alice pretending to be Sarah). The nuances in every performance she puts are so delicate, yet so obvious.
This show is definitely a must watch. It starts strong, has a good intrigue, many plot twists, a good series overall.
Charmed (2018)
Whitelighters!!!
Maybe it's just me, but the best thing about this show and the OG Charmed are the whitelighters. Leo was great in the OG series, Harry does an awesome job too. Their character's development throughout the series just got better and better. Brian Krause and Rupert Evans just make me feel like everything is going to be alright, for some reason.
Of course, the sisters are a very important part of the show, but their whitelighters are more interesting, in my opinion.
Injustice (2021)
Game story is the real deal!
Please, just watch the story from the game, both Injustice Gods Amongs Us and Injustice 2. That story is much better and more complex. This movie, this adaptation, doesn't even compare.
D.Gray-man Hallow (2016)
Somehow different
The first season of this anime series, D.Gray-Man, was a pretty good work of art. I enjoyed the characters a lot, the story was developing quite fast and it made me watch more and more. I got used a lot with the voices of the actors and it seemed to me they have been picked just right. Even if Lenalee's voice was changed once. But when I got into D.Gray-Man Hallow, it was kind of disappointing. They changed the voices of all the characters. Even their looks are changed a bit, the shape of their faces and Allen's Crowned Clown cape. It is shiny and all that stuff, but too much change at once. Right from the first episode someone kills General Cross (or maybe he isn't dead, I haven't finished the season yet). This was kind of a downer for me. I liked this character and I wanted to see more of him. The only thing I find pleasant to watch is the new and improved fighting style. There seems to be plenty more actions, no static fighting scenes so far. Still, it is a must watch. Maybe there will be future episodes too. But I really hope they old actors will return, especially the ones who did Allen, Lenalee, Kanda, Lavi and Cross.
Good Luck Charlie (2010)
A fun show to watch indeed
Everything about this TV series seems great. The actors are doing their job just fine. The plot is clean, maybe not at its best, but for sure it is fun to watch. I am not sure, but I liked the character of P.J. Duncan. Maybe I am doing a wrong comparison, but this TV show reminds me of the show ''Married with children'. There is the father with a weird job that sucks and he is not very proud of it (Al Bundy). Sometimes when he comes home he wants to tell a story from work. There is a mother whose cooking skills are not that great (Peggy Bundy). There is the bright and smart daughter, Teddy (Bud Bundy), and the son that is... different, P.J. (Kelly Bundy). And the 'pranking the neighbours' part is on Gabe, who is kind of a combination of both. I am not saying I am right, but this really made its place into the good TV series. Maybe they will have a fifth season, but there are very low chances. I really recommend this show!
