A satisfying end to a beautiful 4 seasons
9 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This finale was obviously written without knowning if they'd be back for another season & it was wrapped up very nicely to serve as the likely series finale. Michael Lucas delivers yet another amazing TV show that always makes you feel. It was clear throughout this season that Ben & Heather should end up together & they pushed it to the final moments but it happened as you'd expect. Liz & Harry get back to a much better place which is what was needed after some strain on their relationship but their friendship was too great to end without happiness. Ainsley telling Simmo she is pregnant & that she loves him was nicely done. Ending with Lachlan buying the house was actually a really nice touch, laugh out loud moment. They have one final moment agreeing to sell & all drive off separately as another beautiful Australian show comes to a likely end. Thank you to all the cast & crew for an amazing show!

Brilliant finale to a wonderful show
13 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I had watched this show on TV up until Patrick's death then stopped after that.. some due to that decision but life at the time got busy & I just never got back into it until I won a competition for the complete DVD collection. I have just finished this final episode & must say the show never lost its charm & almost every character that came into this show was memorable. Even after the intended series finale of season 5, original writers not coming back after & the show was still brilliantly written. Harry, Will & Kerry were great additions to the show & I'm glad they all got happy endings in this. Zoe asking if Harry could be her dad was beautiful. This finale wrapped up a lot of things nicely. It would've been nice to maybe see a time jump & see where everyone was a year or so later but everyone having a good time at that bar felt like the perfect ending to another wonderful Australian show!

Land of bad is incredibly good
24 February 2024
Wow this film was so enjoyable. Easily my favourite film of the year so far & one of the better ones I've watched in a long time. Maybe it felt better due to how bad a lot of other movies are currently but I found myself edge of the seat & the running time just flew by. This is an all-star cast with Liam Hemsworth & Russell Crowe putting in tremendous performances. It's everything you want in a military action/thriller, similar to behind enemy lines. Felt the director had some very amazing decisions in this film that makes it stand out among others. I can't recommend this enough & it's one I will be rewatching. Great work to everyone involved.

Ted (2024)

Brilliant 2024 comedy
16 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Just finished the whole season & really loved this. The family dynamic is great, really capturing the transition in the 90's from the old ways vs new with Blaire. The way John & Ted bounce off each other is, just like the movies, perfectly timed & hilariously done. The casting of Matty & Susan was perfect for their roles. Enjoyed the nods to the films with showing how they started smoking weed & the f u Thunder song. If you enjoyed the movies you're going to enjoy the TV show as MacFarlane's humour is very specific. Ted Season 1 shows potential & with the growth to Matty's character later in the season it could continue to deliver entertaining content in possible future seasons.

Epic finale!
13 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This show just gets better & better. What an epic finale after a fantastic previous episode setting it up. Getting to see more of Todd Lasance (JD) acting range in this episode was great, him & Olivia Swann (Mackey) are great leads for this show. Starting off learning some about JD's background with his ex wife & kid who gets kidnapped & JD will do anything to get him back. An intense scenes as he attempts to make the swap to get his kid back just to have a gun pulled on him as all his colleagues can do is watch on.. but he had a plan! Ana saves him & leaves the phone, telling JD to make a call.. he does & the phone call cliffhanger as Rankin's phone rings inside with the NCIS team. Hopefully there's a season 2 because what a fantastic episode to lead into a new one.

Wonderfully written finale
12 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Going straight into this episode after the last one with tears still in my eyes but this was such a beautifully written finale. Nina trying to deal with the loss of Patrick, the family all stepping up to help out & the beautiful bond between Nina & Billie was so important to bring them back together here. Mick showing his maturity throughout it all by finding Billie then being honest about how he loves her & the family but that might not be enough. It was nice to see Darcy & Cherie again even in difficult times. The show has always balanced seriousness & comedy very well & this was no exception with the final scenes with Nina giving birth & Billie driving her to the hospital was equally fun as it was stressful. This show does season finales very well.

Aussie TV guts that paid off
12 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Continuing on with my 2024 rewatch I have reached this episode & I cried as hard as I did the first time. The episode for most the time feels like a normal Offspring episode nearing the finale, theres some struggles but nothing too serious, a family gathering where everyone will be together & celebrate the welcoming of a new life into the family... that's until a car hits Patrick & everything changes. This was one of the biggest & gutsy decisions in Australian TV history in my opinion with how well Patrick was loved but I also don't think the show runs another 3 seasons without a bold decision like that. The differing in dealing with heartbreak by Kate & Nina in hospital was fantastic acting & I don't think anyone who's a fan of this show had a dry eye left when the credits started rolling. A truly heartbreakingly tough episode, much like Mitch in 'All Saints', but I think it needed to happen for the shows future.

Asher Keddie incredible
8 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Doing a re-watch off this show & have just finished this fantastic episode. One of the best in the show & I thought Asher Keddie's range of acting throughout this was truly amazing, award winning type stuff. She is so amazing at the awkward stuff but the drunk & forgetful scenes were incredible, the anger in the conversation with Patrick vs her reaction in the room when she's listening to all the messages he left her when he was worried, that was truly fantastic in the struggles of relationships ending & something I didn't appreciate properly when I first watched this show/episode when I was younger. Can't speak highly enough of everything in this episode. Brilliant from everyone involved.

Really great first season
6 September 2023
This show has put out an amazing first season & has the platform to take it to great heights. The characters are all incredible, it's not over-done with characters & a key focus on a handful that's enjoyable to watch. The stories are brilliantly written & they have the actors to deliver them as well as they do deserve. I binge watched this show across two days as it was so addicting, I'm sure it'll slow down over time but every episode in this first season is full of fast paced action & something is always happening. I really look forward to where this show goes after the fantastic first season & the setup they ended it with.

The real finale
4 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I've just finished watching the series through completion for the first time. I had watched 1-12 before I had stopped for a while but have finally finished it all. I thought this episode was the finale & was happy with the ending until it went into another episode.. I'm sure the actual finale some people will enjoy & others will hate. Killing the boys off didn't seem right with everything they went through to finally get the world to that point & didn't get to live it very long at all. Them driving off together on the open road, alive, happy & on earth always felt like where it should end for me so I'm glad this episode can give the feeling that I had hoped it would end at. Thank you Supernatural for 15 amazing seasons!

This is an amazing comedy!
7 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Just.watched this on Netflix with no expectation coming into it but have finished it with a sore stomach from laughing so hard. This is the most perfect role for Adam DeVine & he delivers an incredible performance. The singing bits are so funny, especially the one to get into the vault. The way he reacts to his ass being touched, the drunk scene & the Parker kidnap scene are so well delivered by Adam. Pierce & Ellen also are perfect for their roles, I loved the little James Bond nod. The change of Owen trying to be a bad guy just takes it to a new level. The movie isn't anything new but it's written & delivered tremendously well. A really enjoyable 90 minute watch.

Ted Lasso: So Long, Farewell (2023)
Season 3, Episode 12

Beautiful ending to a beautiful show
7 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Such a truly beautiful written & acted series finale that captured all the things that made 'Ted Lasso' great. The heart, the humour, the football. The "So Long, Farewell" song & dance at the start was a great throwback feeling to when they attempted "Bye Bye Bye", the reassembling of the 'believe' sign which was a wonderful touch & to show the growth of Roy him asking to join the diamond dogs was great to see. Jamie Tartt arguably had the most complete character arc of the whole show so to see the selflessness in the last game was wonderful! & of course the show couldn't end without one more epic coach beard scene! Ted Lasso ends back at home & coaching his son. Thank you, Ted Lasso for 3 incredible seasons! I hope we see a spin-off with either the current team & Roy as manager or the women's team they introduced!

Fast X (2023)
10/10
The best since Fast Five!
20 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This was my favourite Fast Furious film since Fast Five which seems fitting since it's heavily tied to that film: Jason Momoa plays a brilliant villain Dante Reyes, who is the son of Hernan Reyes. It starts with a flashback to the Fast Five heist sequence & introduces us to him. The present day sequence starts with Dom & his son before heading to the family meal which traditionally ends these films. Cipher comes to the Toretto home to warn Dom & that sets in motion what'll be a multi film arc. The action scenes are yet again brilliantly done, especially throughout Rome. The film brings back Jakob, Little Nobody, Queenie & Deckard Shaw while introducing us to Brie Larson as Mr Nobody's daughter. Roman continues with the great humour throughout as there's great banter between him & Tej. This is another film that's a whole lot of mindless fun but ends with quite the cliffhanger & re-introduces another character before cutting to the credits where there is a credit scene that sets in motion the return of another fan favourite!

Best of the Guardians series?
4 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I just left the cinema & my immediate thoughts was that was quite possibly the best of the Guardians of the Galaxy series & the best MCU film since No Way Home (or possibly endgame) it's definitely one I'll be seeing again! It's a beautifully written film with so much great action sequences, comedic scenes & some really heart touching moments. The backstory for Rocket really messes you up seeing what he went through & how he had to witness all his friends being slaughtered. Although it makes you believe it at times thankfully none of the Guardians actually pass but they do split in an emotional finale. Star-Lord finally decides to stop running & returns home to Earth to see his grand father! The final dance scene was so enjoyable. There are two post credit scenes so make sure to say to the end!

The best since the original!
8 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Quite quickly put.... This is the best Scream film since the original & I highly recommend you get out & see it as quickly as possible. There is also a post credit scene you should stay for! This is such a brilliantly written film with key characters all playing important roles & some familiar faces returning. The audio & visuals are incredible as the score on this is all time great. Some of the best chemistry in film in a very long time & it doesn't waste anytime getting straight into it as you'll be remarkably hooked from the opening scene. So grab your friends & get to see this as soon as you can!

The Last of Us: Left Behind (2023)

Such a beautiful episode!
27 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Loved playing this during The Last Of Us game & the TV adaption is incredibly brilliant! Storm Reid is the perfect Riley. The banter between the two as they head into it "Are you going to kill me? This seems like the perfect place to do it" "oh I'm aware.." is great. "I was trying to imagine you wearing that" delivered well. Ellie getting to just be a kid & have fun was so pure. The carousel & Photo Booth scenes were truly beautiful. The design crew deserve so much praise for how they've nailed it all! The arcade games looked incredible. I thought they weren't going to do the masks for a sec there, very glad they added it in. Soundtrack of this episode is perfect too! The pain in the "if it makes you hate me less" & the "don't go" was amazing & only matched by the "no no no no" after Ellie seen she was bitten & the "I'm sorry" from Riley. What another incredible episode! Must watch TV. The most incredible acting. Only negative was no super soaker fight.

One of the best TV episodes in recent memory
20 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode (along with episode 2) is some of the best TV episode writing, acting & design I've seen in a very long time. Feeling every emotion through this one as Joel & Tommy reunite before arguing but that leads to a beautiful scene between the 2. Then Joel & Ellie have such an intense scene where Ellie opens right up & we see a different more venerable side. Joel talking about if he a cure happens he wants to get a farmhouse was a nice ode to Part 2. The first time Ellie has ever seen Monkey's & Joel talking about his singing was a nice moment I'm glad they kept in the show before an intense ending as Joel fights for his life!

Truly underrated brilliance
16 February 2023
I don't know how I'm seeing this for the first time 13 years later but it came up on Netflix tonight & I found it truly beautiful. An incredible script with an all star cast that takes on long distance relationships & throughout takes you on an emotional roller coaster. The chemistry between the two leads is amazing but that makes sense considering they were dating at the time in real life. Jason Sudeikis Is perfect for roles like this however I would've loved some more screen time for him, his chemistry with Charlie Day is great in this like it is in the horrible bosses films, a great duo. This is a really nice hidden gem for those who are yet to see it! Enjoy.

Better balanced blend of action vs comedy, VFX bounce-back
15 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Caught an advanced screening of this tonight & despite the negative reviews I had read this was pleasantly surprising for me. The blend of action, storytelling & comedy was much better balanced than recent Marvel films, the visual effects were beautiful, also much better than recent additions. I did enjoy the first two Ant-Man's better than this one but found this one was most definitely worth a trip to the cinema. Kathryn Newton very well casted for Cassie & adds well to the movie. Some moments with Scott were really beautifully done along with some humour, especially early on. Cassie's admiration for Jentorra was really cool & the 'just stop being a dick' to Darren (who returns in a funny way) was brilliant. Loved Paul Rudd's delivery of this line: Kang: You're not the one with the hammer?

Scott: That's Thor. We get confused a lot. Similar body types.

Overall this movie is better than a lot of recent marvel films but not as good as the franchise once was. There are two credit scenes, one near the start of the credits & one right at the end.

A unexpected gem, must watch!
9 November 2022
I've found myself watching any Mel Gibson movie, see his name & I'll check it out.. based on the last few I wasn't expecting much from this but I was pleasantly surprised. This was a brilliant thriller that was well written & cast really well. The whole time was edge of your seat & trying to figure things out & when you thought you had it they'd hit you with another twist. I know this film won't be for everyone & I can already tell the 5 star rating will probably hold as I sense you're either going to love this or hate, not much in between. I personally loved it & so did my family I watched it with. It was full of twists & stressful moments & even some comedy. Well done to all involved!

90's action gold, 25th anniversary
4 November 2022
So I had never seen this film somehow but I went to the cinemas last night as they had a 25th anniversary screening & it's held up pretty well & exactly what you'd expect from a 90's action film. The cast is fantastic & some very familiar faces to someone who hadn't seen this before (Cage, Cusack, Buscemi, Trejo, Meaney, Gainey & Chappelle) the soundtrack was really good, the action scenes, especially the explosions towards the end are fantastic for a 90's film. It's nothing you wouldn't expect by reading the plot but it's just a whole lot of fun if you're into the 90's action films, especially with that traditional white tank & blue jeans look! Enjoyable.

Gore galore but the storyline falls flat
23 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
There is so much more gore in this film compared to the first & very graphic shots which was exactly what I was expecting so that part was fine.. the actors in this one are also so much better which is nice but for a slasher film not essential... however the run time of this film was excessive & the overall plot which seemed to be heading one way but didn't really answer anything was a head scratcher! Felt like there was a lot of potential & pieces in place for a really great film but the execution was off. Lauren LaVera as Sienna was really brilliant in this, a truly fantastic performance. I'd recommend watching this but know it's more about straight up gore with supernatural themes than any real storyline!

Not enough killing or Michael... odd for a finale
16 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Will start by saying I really loved Halloween 2018 & enjoyed Halloween Kills. There was a good story & plenty of horror kills + Michael Myers... this one did not. I really didn't understand the need to introduce Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell) as they did into such a major role for what should've been more Laurie vs Michael one last time. It's been 4 years since Kills & from what we were told in those films then Michael shouldn't of still been that weak to be beaten by the same guy who had been beaten twice by students... It took about 40 minutes before you even see Michael. This is not a Michael vs Laurie film. It's a Corey film for the most part. The final 30 or so minutes are a bit more enjoyable but can't save the rest of it. This might've been more enjoyable if it wasn't marketed as the big showdown between Michael & Laurie or wasn't a finale to the trilogy. Just felt out of place compared to the last 2. Hopefully it grows on me over time!

The Good Place: Whenever You're Ready (2020)

One of the best TV finales ever
10 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Just finished watching this on Netflix & I have to say this was one of the best TV finales I've seen in a very long time. A lot of shows these days seem to run too long then finish abruptly but this was perfect. They gave a perfect amount of importance to every single character & even fit time in for cameos. For me this was just very comforting where everyone finally reached peak fulfilment & happiness & were ready to move on. Eleanor asking Chidi to wait to leave until she was asleep really hit right in the heart & was delivered so perfectly. I loved that Michael will get to be a human for however long & he finally got to really say 'take it sleazy' such a perfect ending. I will miss this show a lot, such wonderful characters who obviously had a wonderful writing crew behind them but they went out while still on top. An amazing finale for a beautiful show!

Glad they wrapped it up nicely!
22 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I thought they left too much to wrap up in one episode but it was done really well! A really solid ending to a wonderful series. Thought it went downhill a little bit after Roosters death but the core heart of the show remained. Dax Shepard Was a really nice addition. I was so glad Colt won in the end with Lisa Neumann & they got to keep Iron River Ranch which was the heart of the show & anyone from the country would relate to how important that one place can be. Another show that seemed to go out on top & didn't drag it on when they easily could've. Well done to all the cast & crew on a fantastic series.
