Andor (2022)
Better than I thought a Star Wars Show could be.
Already the best Star Wars show on TV.
It's got all of the benefits of being set in the Star Wars universe without any of the cheese, so far the cast has delivered excellent performances all round and we've got writing that makes me feel like I'm actually watching real people.
I mostly enjoy the other Star Wars TV shows to varying degrees for what they are, but this is a show that could stand alone out with the wider universe, I really hope they keep up the gritty style going forward.
I'm really interested in where the show is going to from here, I think we're going to see a very different side of the Rebel vs Empire conflict and I'm all for it.
Last point, this show is greatly improved by avoiding the constant attempts at being funny trap that so many Disney shows have fell into.
Keep it up.
The Many Saints of Newark (2021)
This is not a movie...
It's the 1st 2 episodes of a new TV show.
One I'd very much like to see come to fruition.
As a stand alone movie it doesn't work though so my score is very much reliant on that happening, which I'm convinced must be David Chase's intention.
Reminiscence (2021)
Cured my insomnia
Film is boring from start to finish, pretty good concept ruined by an incredibly bland story, I'm not sure I've ever cared less about characters.
Wrath of Man (2021)
Decent film, but....
This was an enjoyable enough crime/heist movie to watch, albeit kinda forgettable, what stood out to me is it could have been directed by any number of random directors, it lacked Ritchie's usual flair for dialogue and storytelling.
Fargo: Welcome to the Alternate Economy (2020)
Struggling to believe...
None of these supposed gangsters have the slightest air of menace, I feel like I'm watching Bugsy Malone.
Jessie Buckley's is the only Character who who feels like Fargo to me.
Spenser Confidential (2020)
I don't dish out 1 star reviews lightly.
Infuriatingly stupid film, terrible acting, dialog and story.
The director should filed alongside Michael Bay under DO NOT WATCH.
I Am Not Okay with This (2020)
Done before?
Yeah, it definitely has, but they've still done it very well, I mean how many shows are truly original, very few so I'm not sure why this show is getting 1 star reviews for it, although I suspect I do know why sadly.
Good show, well shot, acted and scripted.
Looking forward to season 2.
Shazam! (2019)
Average at best.
Something very fishy with the scores for this film, reminds me of the strangely positive reviews for the Last Jedi.
The film was like watching a preteen kids superhero movie with added random swearing to be edgy...
Didn't really fancy this from the trailers, should have trusted my own instincts but instead I trusted IMDB...
Losing faith.
Abducted in Plain Sight (2017)
This documentary is selling us a lie...
It would like us to believe the parents are a pair of naive simpletons who were manipulated by some twisted master manipulator, I suspect the truth is far worse.
Don't get me wrong, this is an interesting yet infuriating watch, my low score reflects that I believe the story has been partly concocted to cover up the truth.
I'll say no more other than the 4 adults involved should all die in prison.
