Black Bear is an Indie movie, which from the start feels unique and experimental. The music and general atmosphere in the beginning is extraordinary and keeps you waiting for a misterious and dark journey into the mind of the charactar. Unfortunately, the overall premise of the film seems plain and pointsless at some point. The movie is missing a clear red line. This can be good for certain types of movies, but here the movie just feels like it is floating through space without clear direction. Nonetheless, Black Bear is interesting enough to keep the viewer intrigued threw its full run time. Especially artists, writers and creatives should enjoy this movie since it carefully depicts the process of creativity. Nonetheless, it feels like the something more and deeply meaningfull is hidden in this movie. 6/10.

Sound of Metal is a movie that keeps you stunned many hours after you watched it. Riz Ahmed delievers an extraordinary performance and proves ones again that he is one of the most underrrated actors out there. Even though, we know nothing about this person at all, he keeps you enganged for the whole movie. The movie is not trying to force anything and feels brutally honest with the portrail of its story. Camera and score are used very precisly and never obstrusive, so that the viewer has to think about the actions themselves.

Over all this movie is not about a man loosing his hearing, it is about a man finding his purpose in life. It is about a man that has to rethink living and acknowledge all the beautiful things that live has to offer; even though it can be very hard sometimes.

The first Austrian Netflix show brings you to the Austrian Empire at the end of the 19th century and unfolds a story full of mistery, crime and hypnosis. It often feels like a delirium and delivers raw and brutal scenes I did not really expect. However, the presentation is phenomenal and keeps you interested all the time, even though there are some flaws. The acting is really good throughout the show. Fans of Freud could be disappointed because the historical accuracy is not given. I feel like the show really wanted to show Freud in a new light and therefore show something different. This new concept creates some of the best, but also some of the worst moments of the show. It really tries to be many different things and does not always know what it wants. Therefore this show is definitly not for everyone and you should have an open eye to some of Freuds theories, especially hypnosis. But the abstruse and recondite mix of Conspiracy, personality disorder and crime mistery offers a great view into the abyss of the Austrian Empire and also the Human Mind. 7.5/10

Yorgos Lanthimos proves himself to be an extraordianry director with this film and can transport a weird and still interesting film to the viewers. It starts off very cold and arid. Especially in the beginning I did not like the performance of Colin Farrell, because it felt almost forced how he delivered the lines. As if he was reading directly from the script. But as the tone of the movie began to absorb me with its well placed music and obvious tension in every frame his performance began to grew on me and was believable after all. The movie is shot beautifully. Each charakter has much space to move in the frames and that creates a cold but still interesting felling. The plot is very disturbing and leaves you shocked, but thats exactly what makes this movie so interesting. You can think about it even long after it ends and thats also an achievment on its one. Often it felt a bit slow and as I said earlier it starts off weak, but after all "The Killing of a Sacred Deer" is a disturbing psychological thriller, that leaves the viewer frightend and at the same time impressed. 8/10

A Quiet Place starts off really good and throws you in an apocalyptic world where you can not escape. John Krasinski creates a great atmosphere which is new and unique. The movie starts off very quiet and keeps the sound very low during the whole movie. Unfortunately the very promising start falls off and in the end "A Quiet Place" turns out to be another stupid action/horror movie with no sense. Huge plot holes and stupid character decisions create a boring and even for the short run time too long movie. As in many cases it could be much better. The overall feeling and atmosphere of the movie was transported really well, but the plot and character driven story did make no sense and so the viewer looses interest after a short period of time. The performance of the cast did not help to create a better feeling and often felt forced and over the top. After all the only positive aspect is the atmopshere and the risk trying to create a quit movie, but that is not much after all. A Quit Place tries too create an unique setting in world full of horror but fails to create an interesting story that makes sense. 5/10.

500 Days of Summer looks at the Relationship of Tom and Summer in a different way than most movies in this genre. From the Beginning you can relate to the main charakter Tom, because of the very good performance from Joseph Gordon-Levitt who carries the movie with his great performance. Unfortunatley Zoey Deschanel was not very convincing and therefore the whole chemistry between the main charakters did not always feel very real. Nonetheless the movie did a great job creating emotions. Happy moments were portrayed really well and also sad moments had their one tone and did create the perfect feeling for this moment in the movie. After a while the movie becomes slightly predictable and a bit too overdramatic but still feels very lighthearthed and caring. The ending was sweet and leaves the viewer with mixed feelings. In my opinion the ending was a bit too formulated, but still did deliever the right emotions that were needed in this moment. Overall 500 Days of Summer is a good movie with some interesting plot elements. The emotions in the movie felt real and consume the viewer from the very first shot. Sometimes it follows to much the formula of a normal romantic Comedy and therefore becomes nothing special in the end. 7/10

The Discovery is a very interesting movie, which started off very promising. The idea behind the movie and the overall concept ist just brilliant. The movie leaves you with a strange feeling in your brain and you will even rethink the way you think after it ends. Thats almost the best thing a movie can achieve. Unfortunately it also leaves you dissapointed because it could have been a masterpiece. The plot overall, espeacially in the beginning, is great and the movie sucks you in this dark but mindful mood which you can not escape. But as i said before much potential was wasted on this one. The movie tries too hard to connect to everyone and theirfore it often feels painful stupid when it tries to explain things to you, which you already understood in the first place. In the end it also makes an decision, which leaves you with mixed feelings. If they put as much thought in the ending as in the idea of the movie itself it could have been much more. Jason Segel deliviers and extraordinary performance and also Robert Redford was believable. Some other charakters did not relly deliver much to the story and felt a bit out of place. The music was not worth mentioning. Overall The Discovery is a must watch for every fan of dark and intelligent future scenarios. Even thought it is dissapointing because it had so much more potential, the intentional feel of the movie can be transported. You will definitly think about the movie after it ends and thats also an achievement on its one. 8/10

Us ist the next big feature film written and directed by Jorden Peele. After the big Success with 'Get out', 'Us' follows a similar formula for success. The introduction of the familiy and overall the built up for the movie was made really well and leaves you with big excitment for the rest of the film. The score is great and really fits the scenes. Unfortunately the movie does not hold up and when the horror part of the movie starts the tension just drops. 'Us' tries do deliever very thrilling scenes but fails. Everyhing feels slow, the tension was very low and you never get scared that something happens to the charakters. The story is just too easy written. Also the villains are poorly exceuted and more laughable than really scary. Even though Lupita Nyong'o and espescailly Elisabeth Moss delivier very good perfomances the viewer never experience that the events are real. The other actors werde decent and did not really deliver something special to the story. After the ending you leave the theather very confused and that is something positive because you can still think about the movie a few days later, even thought after some days it still makes no sense at all.

Overall 'Us' is an very interesting movie that is poorly executed and still leaves me with mixed feelings. On the one hand it had big potential to become something different and special but on the other hand it fails to deliver and becomes another missed opportunity in the horror genre. 6/10

Even after almost 30 years Reservoir Dogs is a fresh and unique take on every Gangster Movie that exists. From the beginning of the movie you feel confused, because of the different charakters, that discuss the strangest things on the dinner table and you have know idea what is going on. Tarantino clearly knows how to write dialoges and grips the attention of the viewer, even if they do not want to look at it. The concept is very interesting and leaves the viewer always with less information than the charakters, so the viewer wants to know more. Every detail that is revealed makes the story more interesting. Unfortunatly near the end the scenes fell out of the story and reveal information that had been better unlocked. The acting of all charakters is brilliant and especially Tim Roth delivers an extraordinary performance. The brutal movie is accompanied by fitting music and makes the viewing experience very special.

Overall Reservoir Dogs is a very good debut film from Tarantino that delivers almost on every level. The brutal take on the Gangster Scene is unique, surprising, full of black humour and very thrilling, even though it falls a bit near the end. 8/10

Escape Room is a movie that is based on the different Escape Room games, which developed recently and got quite popular. The games are often smart and require some serious thinking. Unfortunatly you can not say this about the Movie. Escpae Room is a cliched and mediacore film, that is almost entirely predictable. From the beginning you can clearly see the formulated screenplay in front of your eyes. Every Child can see the build up of the different standard characters and knows from the beginning which one is going to survive. A positive thing is that the rooms in the movie were designed pretty clever and even thought you know the outcome the scenes were very thrilling. The acting and the music was not worth mentioning.

Overall Escape Room was disapointing because of the clear potential the movie had. It turned out to be another Hollywood scheme A formula movie. The director did nothing to improve the mediacore script and so it turned out to be another forgettable movie. Watch this on a sunday afternoon if you have nothing to do and want to see a less good hollywood movie. 4/10

I did not expect such a good movie going into another Spiderman Movie. But Marvel did a great Job showing us another Story out of their huge Comic Book Universe. But seeing only 10 Reviews on this Page is a bit overrated. First of all the Animation is really mind-blowing and a completly new Style. This is incredible and i hope more movies risk something in this area. The Movie felt like reading an actual Comic Book which was surprsingly fun. The Soundtrack helped the Movie to create Emotions and felt cool because it fits in our Time. The Story was overall not bad, but nothing great happend. As i said earlier, it felt like a cinematic Comic Book and this also means that the Story was nothing more than this. Therefore it was a way better story than average with a lot of Humor and Action. but nothing that will be remembered long. So Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse was a very good Movie with a solid Story. You should definitly check it out if you are interested in the Animation Style or you are a Fan of the Comic Books. Good job Marvel, try out more things and you will go in the right direction. 7/10

I don't understand the bad ratings of that movie. Maybe i can explain it from the point of a kid, which really likes this movie. I am now an 18 year old Man who is very interested in movies, so when Alvin and the chipmunks came in the theaters i was about 10 years old. And for me and my brother it was an adventure to see that movie. People often forget that there are movies who only exist to entertain kids and not the critical eyes of film interested man who only likes good films for example bird man and so on. This is a movie for kids which is very entertaining and also brings back the wonderful feeling of Christmas in that time. It also learns much about money and friends. I can say that the message of this movie is to stay on the ground and with your family and that you should not go there where the money is. After that movie i became a big fan of the chipmunks. I was surprised that it was that good, my brother and i also always listened to the songs of them. And thats what it about in this movie, its not interesting mystical or something, it is a wonderful entertaining film for kids and the film also contains some good messages.
