Gifted (2017)
A lovely film for parents, aspirations and being human
I love stories about gifted characters, not like Jedi and all but the real ones, and this movie brings it out beautifully that being human is more important than just being good with numbers. Chris Evans plays the role of a single parent responsible for raising a gifted child and the tough choices he has to make to not let the childhood taken away from a child just because she is special.
The story is about love, aspirations, sacrifice and courage to stand up against even your family. The best part about a story like this is though there is a hero and an adversary, yet no one is evil, everyone is trying to do what is right but only a few chose to do what is human.
Greenfingers (2000)
Just another prison movie sans death, violence or swearing
This movie is a delight, and if you like gardening it will warn your heart even more. The quaint setting and story will make it the only prison movie ever fit for children (though there is wee bit of nudity). The story does not have very surprising plots or complex characters still progresses pretty well. Clive Owen does more than justice and sometimes bit out of place considering the simplicity of the story and the wide variety of complex characters under his belt.
Greyhound (2020)
A low key hero in war movie for a change
This movie is based on a book and is a good war movie about 72 hrs of cat and mouse game between American and Germans in middle of Atlantic. Things to like are the tense pace of action, brilliant acting by Tom Hanks portraying a low key and business only captain who gets the job done without being rash or cocky. As an introvert its nice to see a hero who speaks only as much is expected of him and does not care about rousing speeches or unnecessary conflicts.
But the movie lacks to give a view of the enemy or their side of the view. At times it is just an indication to what enemy is doing and we have to imagine the rest. The no characters build other than the captain and that too their was an indication of his love interest but left at that.
