Nostalgia takes Precedent over a Good Story
8 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
When George Lucas sold the rights of Star Wars to disney, everyone was met with optimism and excitements. The prequels were largely and unfairly chastised (Which I admit I was wrong about) but thats when audiences actually respected movie critics. The hype of the movie was amazing, and I think the best part. We saw glimpses of Han Solo, Luke's hand and the Mysterious Kylo Ren. There was a review embargo the day of the premiere and the hype machine was in full force (get it?). Yet after seeing it the Nostalgia took place and after the freshness wore off I realized how mediocre the movie was. The story was a rehash of a New Hope, with new characters of Finn, Rey and the evil Kylo Ren, and yet they added nothing of value. In fact if not for Han Solo and Chewbaccas intro in the movie it would be a total bore. The movie was mediocre at best and elevated by Harrison Ford.

Brilliant movie, a clear lock for best picture
15 January 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I recently saw Slumdog Millionaire and so far I've seen just about every other best picture nominee, and this movie is without a doubt the clear-cut favorite. The movie focuses on a young man named Jamal Malik who grows up in the slums, and plays Who Wants to be a Millionaire so that he can get in touch with his true love Latika. The movie traces his journey as a child with his brother Salim, and his relationship with Latika. We see haw these 3 individuals end up on very different paths. Some may argue that the movie seems very implausible, because this kid is from the slums and he's clearly getting all the questions right, but despite this the movie is just amazing. The actors all very good, including the children from the slums who steal the show. Dev Patel does a good job, Freida Pinto is good as well, and the supporting characters are also done nicely. The movie evokes a lot of humor but at the end of the picture your rooting for Jamal to win, and when he does your on the edge of your seat. Without a doubt the best movie of 2008, and AR Rahman creates a wonderful score for the movie as well. Definitely check it out. Ignore some of the IMDb users, they have nothing better do in their lives then complain about a movie they don't get.

I came in with high expectations but this just doesn't cut it
6 January 2009
Warning: Spoilers
The movie had a lot of promise, especially in the beginning but the story seemed a little rushed, and the movie primarily focused on two characters The Green Lantern and the Flash, Superman seemed kind of dull, Batman's character sounded like an old man, and everybody else was there just for show. The movie was poorly done and nowhere near the quality of the Justice League: Animated Series, which had much better voices and an actual story instead of random meaningless action sequences. Sure their good, but they have to have some meaning behind them. Plus the mysterious appearance of Aquaman at the end that was just to much. Very disappointing effort.

Heroes (II) (2006–2010)

Used to be unique, but now it's just become terrible.
7 December 2008
Warning: Spoilers
When I first saw Heroes season 1, I thought it was an alright show. I mean was expecting it to be kind of like X-Men. Granted X-Men was a cartoon and Heroes is a live action show with a limited budget. The first season was alright, although very disappointing never living up to the hype of the Sylar vs. Peter fight. Then the second season came and the show became terrible, so many plot holes, unnecessary characters (Maya and her brother), melodramatic story lines (Claire's conflict between her boyfriend and father, Hiro falling in love in feudal Japan). Not to mention some of the interesting characters in Season 1 just became quite unintelligent, such as Mohinder Suresh (a Geneticist turned Naive Fool) and Peter (A Hero without any form of intelligence). The acting got worse as well, and the scripts became just terrible. It made no sense how the show was on the air. I was expecting an X-Men like series where all the Heroes would form a coalition and stop evildoers, instead I got a lame cheesy drama. First season was alright, but second and third seasons were disappoints.

Absolutely brilliant, A timeless classic, that captures Batman better then almost anything
7 December 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Batman the Animated Series came out in 1992 and lasted till 1995, and I remember when I was younger watching it on FOX, and being mesmerized after almost every episode. Granted some parts were confusing but that's what it made it great. It was a thinking persons cartoon, unlike most cartoons on television right now. That includes Batman: Brave and the Bold which is just pathetically childish. This show captures everything that makes Batman great. Featuring outstanding voice work from the main cast, and especially Kevin Conroy as Batman (his voice alone captures Batman and Bruce Wayne better then any movie could), Loren Lester as Robin/Dick Grayson, and of course the brilliant Mark Hamill as the Joker. Those are some of the brilliant voice actors in this episode. The show also features a great deal of character development like in episodes "Nothing to Fear", "Robin's Reckoning" and "Heart of Ice." All of them are well done episodes and I think two of them won Emmys. Well none the less, with brilliant script work as well, great animation, fantastic action sequences and an array of interesting villains Batman the Animated Series deserves to be in the pantheon of the greatest animated cartoons of all time. In fact I'll go as far as to say it was the greatest American animated cartoon of the 1990's, and I'm a fan South Park and the Simpsons. Although they are nowhere near as good as Batman.

A great follow up to Batman the Animated Series
7 December 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I loved this series when it was on Kids WB, I didn't believe that there was a Batman spin off seeing as the original show ended in 1995 and this show came in 1997. First of all I loved the idea of Robin leaving Batman to solve crime on his own. It was an interesting perspective to their relationship. I also liked the addition of Tim Drake in the series, and once again like it's predecessor this show had great story lines, great animation (better then the original), fantastic voice work and of course brilliant writing. The only thing that I didn't like was that was when it was in the US it would often run episodes in a 15 minute storyline. I just wish some of the episodes could be longer. My favorite episode of any Batman cartoons comes in this series, and it's called "Over the Edge", in my opinion as good if not better then "Heart of Ice" and "Robin's reckoning." Overall a nice follow up, along with Superman this show made my childhood very happy.

Brilliant Batman Masterpiece! Without a doubt best comic book movie ever
20 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
When I went into the Dark Knight I had a lot of high expectations. Well it's safe to say that all my expectations were matched by this high adrenaline, maximum impact sequel to 2005's Batman Begins. This movie is done so well it makes one forget about it's predecessor.

In this installment, Gotham City's finest team up, which include Batman, Harvey Dent and Jim Gordon to try to save the city from corruption. Well when the Joker comes along it seems like three of Gotham's finest have a problem. A problem that holds the balance between life and death.

Honestly, I loved this movie. It was a perfect blend of drama, action and suspense to make a credible movie. I used to think that Superman (1978) or Spiderman 2 (2004). However this movie takes the superhero genre to a whole another level. Using limited use of CG and a "Good" story make this movie Oscar Worthy.

Such a good movie, and brilliant performances by everyone in the cast including the amazing performance by the late Heath Ledger, the always brilliant Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michael Caine, and of course Morgan Freeman.

Definitely worth seeing especially in IMAX. A great movie going experience.

Rush Hour 3 (2007)
6/10
Not to bad....But then again nothing out of the ordinary
16 August 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Rush Hour 3 I guess lacks something every other sequel this summer pretty much has which is of course originality and trying to distance itself from the previous affairs. This movie neither has an original plot like the First Movie nor does it distance itself away from the Original Rush Hour movie.

Well back again is Chris Tucker as Detective Carter and Jackie Chan as Inspector Lee. This time out when Ambassador Han is nearly killed in an assassination attempt the duo of Carter and Lee head over to France to look for the ShiShang which is a list of the secretive lethal crime organizations who obviously don't want their names known because it would end their secrecy.

So of course Carter becomes wild and Lee does all the work. The movie is okay but it becomes too similar to the First Rush Hour including a scene with a flag parachuting downward and a snaky insider. The writing is okay and in this movie there is really a lack of chemistry between Chan and Tucker. Maybe tensions, who knows. But Tucker's character seems minimally useful to Chan who in most cases is doing most of the work.

The fight sequences are grand and more realistic then say something in Pirates of the Caribbean but again the movie's lack of a cohesive plot along with Tucker's character getting more comedic scenes then Chan being able to actually perform stunts wear thin in this movie. It's an good popcorn movie because yeah at 53 Jackie Chan is an amazing stunt man and Tucker does have a few funny quips but really this is the weakest of all three.

Zodiac (2007)
9/10
A Very Haunting Movie about the Infamous Zodiac Killer rampaging San Francisco
16 August 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Zodiac was probably one of the most interesting movies I've seen of 2007. Granted I've been watching mostly three-quels and missing the compelling fix of an original story, Zodiac passed the radar until I recently checked it out. The story focuses on a Mysterious Zodiac Murderer rampaging San Francisco between 1969-1978 and the story of how a cartoonist named Robert Graysmith (Jake Gyllenhaal) an Reporter named Paul Avery (Robert Downey Jr) a Detective Dove Toschi (Mark Ruffalo) and his partner Bill Armstrong (Anthony Edwards). The movie is very interesting and never gives a particular identification on who the Zodiac killer actually is and the peak of the movie is when the story starts to shift away from Downey and Gyllenhaal and instead focus on Ruffalo and Edward's character and when they finally target down a suspect named Arthur Leigh Allen played masterfully by John Carroll Lynch. The movie weaves through a maze and shows how this Zodiac case effects all the lives of the individuals involved in it. Although the movie is probably one of the best of 2007 I do feel that after Downey Jr and Edwards left the movie in the beginning of the 3rd Act toward the finale, the movie lacked the energy that drove it toward the beginning and began to sag a little bit. Though still the movies and it's performances from everybody including Bryan Cox and Donal Logue max this a very well acted and interesting movie that leaves chills up to your spines up until the final scene. Well done.

Great musical comedy by the Beatles
16 August 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I love Hard Day's Night and honestly think its one of the few musical pictures made by a rock band that can be cherished and watched for years to come. The movie features the 4 lads, including John the rebel, Paul the romantic, George the quiet one and Ringo the comical one. The movie really has no plots but just basically a day in the life of the Beatles as they prepare to go on a television program, go to parties, press conferences and of course runaway from girls. The movie also features a side plot about Ringo running away. Of course what makes this music stand is the music, including "Can't Buy Me Love", "Hard Day's Night", "I'm just happy to dance with you" and my personal favorite "I should have known better." The movie is just great and really takes you to time when music was pure and wasn't so commercialized and ruined back a lack of originality. Watching these 4 guys is just inspiring and their so likable that this is a movie you can watch over and over again. Great movie.

Arthur (1996–2022)

Pretty Good Show up till the 5th Season...
11 July 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I remember flipping the channel somewhere in 1996 and catching Arthur on PBS. I was a big fan of the books as a kid and was honestly happy that they made an Arthur show. Following the adventures of the lovable aardvark, his nosy sister D.W, his hungry pal Buster, the smart Brain, the rich Muffy, the athletic Francine, and the tough guy Binky. I really thought the show progressed well and tried to achieve something no other PBS show had been previously available to do, get kids not younger then 7 interested in their programming. The show picked up steam all the way up to 1999 when the 5th season pretty much annihilated all of that. First of all the voices of Arthur and the Brain were changed and the show looked just ridiculous, as Arthur actually seemed to get younger and less likable probably leading to more story lines for Prunella, Fern, and the loads of other characters. Granted the show isn't what it used to be but still it should be a landmark show in PBS history because of how good it used to be.

Transformers (2007)
10/10
Probably the Best Summer Movie So Far
5 July 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Let me start off by saying I personally had a good time watching Transformers but I can understand why people hate the movie. Either your a fan of the show or you pretty much don't get it. The story is about a boy named Sam Witwicky who gets an old battered car from a car dealership that turns out to be an Alien. Now there are two types of aliens the Autobots and Decepticons, The Autobots are good and are looking for a box that holds the key to war and try to destroy it while the Decepticons try use the box to gain more power. Along this story we get to see the famous characters Optimus Prime and Megatron. The fight sequences are surreal and the animation is as close as possible to bringing the cartoon to life. The film did feel like a version of Independence Day but the mind-blowing action make it a must see. This movie isn't trying to be Citizen Kane. In a summer with movies that feel to succeed, Transformers offers something new. If you can't stand traces of comedy, constant transformations, and of course fast paced action then this isn't the movie for you. Otherwise you'll definitely enjoy it.

The Godfather (1972)
10/10
One of the Greatest American Films of All Time
27 June 2007
Warning: Spoilers
The Godfather is considered a landmark achievement in film and considered by many as one of the greatest film of all time. The plot of the movie is a little hard to explain because the movie misleads the viewer and goes somewhere else but little by little the pieces add up together. The story begins with a bunch of people coming to the mafia Don, Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando) for some requests because "The Don can't refuse an offer to a Sicilian on the day of his daughters wedding." At the wedding we are introduced the Corleone family which include Santino or Sonny Corleone (James Caan) the oldest of the family and the most hotheaded member, Fredo the second oldest who is a womanizer and isn't as smart as the other members of his family, then there is Michael played by Al Pacino who is a WWII veteran who comes to his sister's wedding with his girlfriend Kay and tells her how he doesn't want to become like the others in his family. Then is Tom Haygin (Robert Duvall) the non Italian character who was taken in by Vito Corleone as a son and become the consiliere (or head of legal affairs) and then there is of course Connie (The Don's Daughter) who is marrying a man named Carlo. The beginning of the story focuses on a famous singer Johnny Propane coming to Vito Corleone asking him for help to get cast in a film, soon Tom goes there and ends up "forcefully" making the Director accept Johnny Propane. From there things become a little difficult when Vito Corleone refuses to get in the business of narcotics with a heroin dealer named Virgil Sollozzo. After Vito's refusal he is shot and nearly killed when his shot down by Sollozzo's men. Without much hope Tom is taken hostage and tries to get hotheaded Sonny to take a deal with Sollozzo but when he refuses things become worse as a possibility of an all out war with the other 5 heads of family become visible. Then Michael takes his role in the story when he visits his father and realizes their isn't security before he is beaten by the corrupt Captain McCluskey. After the incident Michael offers to kill Sollozzo and McCluskey who they realize are working together and in a climatic scene Michael takes out a loaded gun and kills both McCluskey and Sollozzo. Without any hope Michael is forced to move to Sicily to be safe guarded for a while. There he meets a girl named Apollonia and she is soon killed in a car bomb in a near assassination on Michael's life because of the crime's he's committed. Things start to fall apart as the Don finally returns home and Sonny goes on to beat Carlo after he beats on his sister Connie. However when Carlo beats Connie again, Sonny is aggravated and goes to beat up Carlo again before getting murdered at a toll booth by an army of gunmen. After the death of Sonny, Vito Corleone decides to go with the five heads of the mafia to make a truce, soon Michael returns now that it's safe and returns to Kay his girlfriend and tells her he wants to marry her. With Sonny dead, the Don almost retired and Fredo in Vegas (being incompetent to take care of family affairs). Michael soon reduces Tom's power and makes Carlo his right hand man when they move their operations to Nevada. When visiting Vegas, Michael goes to a casino which is financed by The Corleone's and run by Moe Greene where Michael tells Moe that he plans on buying him out much to his dismay. Later Michael returns back home where he talks with the Don and the Don tells him that an associate close to him will betray him and kill him. Soon after the Don plays with his grandson (Michael's son) he dies of a heart attack. During the funeral Michael discovers that Tessio was the traitor and soon has him along with Moe Greene and the heads of the mafia all wiped out during the baptism of Connie's child. Afterwards Michael goes to Carlo's house where he questions him on Sonny's murder before wiping him out. The movie ends with Connie angry at Michael for Carlo's death but Michael seems not to care and when Kay asks him if this is what he does for a living, Michael tells her he doesn't. However it's obvious she realizes that Michael is becoming more what he was afraid of.

Not as Good as the Other Two....A Major letdown
2 June 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Pirates of the Caribbean: A World's End is the third and maybe final chapter of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. The first movie of course was the best of the entire series because it was something different and well Johnny Depp's character Captain Jack Sparrow pretty much stole the entire movie. Then the sequel which wasn't as good since it was way to long and lost the same magic of the first one despite the fact that Sparrow again was the lone spark that drove the movie. Now let's get to the World's End which continues off after Sparrow's character dies and focuses on the same characters Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann trying to bring back Sparrow from the dead. After spending around 20 minutes finding him, Sparrow makes his grand entrance and the movie falls into complete absurdity and instead of being the main character of the story Jack Sparrow falls into a secondary role which just completely makes the story bland. I mean he's the rock-star of the film! Why would you make him a supporting star for the movie that he made into a multi-billion dollar empire. Overall not that good a film, there are to many alliances made and broken throughout the film and at times it is to long and despite Depp this is probably the worse of all the Pirates films.

Great as a Concert!!! Not as great as a movie
29 May 2007
Warning: Spoilers
U2 Rattle and Hum focused on the Irish Band's 1987 Joshua Tree Tour in America. There is little plot in the movie, but pretty much "the band tries to figure out America." The movie starts with a nice (some may say egotistical rendition) of the Beatles "Helter Skelter" where Bono tells the crowd "Charles Manson stole this from the Beatles and were stealing it back." The film does have it's low moments such as a Church-inspired rendition of "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" which sounds like a total mess and features very minimal vocal interpretation from Bono. We are paying to see U2 sing lead!! Not the Church. Despite this the inspired rendition of "Angel of Harlem" is very exciting, as is "Exit", "Bullet in the Blue Sky" (One of the tracks features in Color), "Pride In the Name of Love", "Desire", "Bad", "Sunday Bloody Sunday" a haunting "With or Without You", "Where The Streets Have No Name", "Silver and Gold" and a nice collaboration with BB King called "When love comes to town" where even BB King even admits that he is amazed at Bono's ability to write songs. As a concert the movie is great but as a movie, it literally follows no sequence but showing the band perform songs with very little transition and sort of makes them look more idiotic as they "Try and Look For America" rather then the rebellious figures of change in the mid 1980's. Still though the songs are probably better then most of the U2 albums and Bono's voice is at a level I don't think it's ever been since which is great for a U2 purist. In a way I feel bad for the band because this was a big budget picture (really a concert) and after this U2 soon lost their puritanical edge of the 1980's as they shifted into a more of darker and deeper sound featured in their next album Achtung Baby. Which is a benefit of this movie being made, but overall it's a great concert flick but not so great as an actual feature length motion picture.

Boy Meets World (1993–2000)
9/10
A Great 90's.....Teen Show!
20 May 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Boy Meets World told the story of Corey Matthews a Philadelphia Tough Nosed Kid and his journey at school where his next door neighbor is his school teacher (Mr. Feeny), and his best friend a slacker (Shawn Hunter) at the same time he deals with his middle class parents (Amy and Alan Matthews), his older brother (Eric), the weird girl in glass (Topanga Lawrence) and the nerdy kid (Minkus). After the first season the show drifted away from the family sitcom format and focused more on Corey in school, and dropped Minkus from the show. The next few seasons combined elements of drama, the issues of growing up and great underrated PG related Teenage Humor. Soon new characters were added like Jack Hunter (Shawn's estranged brother) Rachel, and Angela. The show also moved from the high school landscape to college. Along the way the characters changed as Corey became whiny and more annoying (rather then tough), Shawn became a bit to much of a loner rather then his tough boy image, Eric became extremely stupid and Topanga became normal! Show wise it wasn't as great toward the end because the show became overly dramatic and Corey always tried to patch up the long lived relationship between Shawn and Angela. At the same time Shawn Hunter's different problems began to come in light and turn the show more somber. I think if anything drama hurt the show, and Will Friedle's portrayal of an idiotically charged Eric if anything revived the Sitcom turned Soap Opera. Overall it's still a worth while show and in fact the Series Finale was as great as anything you could imagine, nicely tying the pieces together. Still a great and severely underrated 90's show.

The Cosby Show (1984–1992)
10/10
The Most Dominant 80's Show
20 May 2007
Warning: Spoilers
You'd have to be crazy to think the Cosby Show wasn't the most dominant network show on television during the 80's. The Show focused on an upper class family living in Brooklyn. Bill Cosby as Cliff Huxtable creates an uncanny charm as a great father to his children but at the same time he himself is childish in behavior. Claire Huxtable portrayed by Phylicia Rashad is very assertive and has a dominant role despite the fact she is second to Bill Cosby. She gracefully commands a scene. Plus the kids of the Huxtables are all portrayed to perfection from Theo, Denise, Sondra, Rudy, etc......even the guests including Earle Hyman as Cliff's father are interesting and un-pretentious. My only beef with the show would be the last two years when the cast addition of Pam was introduced the Huxtable kids become to old. The show toward the end became a flutter of characters but still very good. Great 80's show and the finale was probably one of the best I've seen on television. Amazing.

Dragon Ball GT (1996–1997)
5/10
Why?!! Why ruin a franchise's good name?! With this Crap!!
15 May 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Out of the DB Trilogies, DBGT is definitely the worse pile of crap composed. The show takes off 10 years after Dragonball Z where Goku and Uub (The Reincarnation of Buu) train and apparently an Old enemy from the Original Dragonball makes a wish using the black star dragonballs for the Dragon to turn Goku into a kid. The story follows unless Goku collects the black star dragonballs the earth will be destroyed. Stupid isn't it? Well things become worse when Goku goes an journey in space with his granddaughter Pan (Who becomes a whiny annoying teenager) and Trunks (Who was so much cooler in DBZ). The show pretty much becomes stale and the first 20 episodes of the series neither feature Gohan, Vegeta, Piccolo or any of the famous DB/Z characters. One after another each idiotic saga fails to implement a stable balance of action and plot like the previous sagas and instead become DBZ copycats with less heart on interest. The show even added another level of Super Saiyan which obviously didn't help. Overall it was very poor,at times un-entertaining, the action didn't match DBZ, the plot didn't even come close and the characters from previous series were basically unused or wasted. DBGT was a poor effort that was created to milk the DBZ series despite the fact the Original Creator left the series. It's no wonder this is the shortest DB series of the trilogy and only lasted 64 points.

Brilliant Anime! Better then DBZ
15 May 2007
Warning: Spoilers
A great anime series that follows the life of a 14 year old kid who gets hit by a car and dies, and gets a second chance at life if he becomes a Spirit Detective after that new cases, friendships and insights into his own past develop. The show itself was originally on Adult Swim but because of a lack of audience the morons removed it and instead used it to target a teenage audience by blocking out the swears. Still though the show made it's mark before those same Cartoon Network morons cut the show short of the Last Fight of Dark Tournament. I think after that moment the show never really picked up enough of a fan-base to care for it, which incidentally was over a year later. Sadly enough even when it came back it didn't make enough of an impact in the ratings, despite the fact it had a better story, action sequences and a lot more interesting characters then Dragonball Z. Overall it's pretty sad that this show didn't pick up a mainstream audience which was the failure of the network and instead had to be on Summer at 3:00 in the morning as a filler. Brilliantly underrated show.

Dragon Ball Z (1996–2003)
9/10
Great Fun......Though it got boring
15 May 2007
Warning: Spoilers
If you remember 1996, you probably heard of Dragon Ball Z a break through Japanese anime that aired between 1989-95. Well then chances are you heard of Dragon Ball Z. A Popular anime series continued off from the original Dragonball by Akira Toriyama. The story continues the journey of the main character Goku and his quest to save the world. The show wasn't that massive until it's popular 1998 move to cable television as Funimation Studio's took over dubbing of the popular series from the Original Pioneer Studios in Canada. The show only got better and by 2000 it reached it's peak during the Cell Saga. However because of Cartoon Networks freakishly long breaks, and months and years filled with re-runs the show ran out of steam and by the time of the Buu Saga began the show was a little to repetitive and not as entertaining as the First Few Sagas. Despite this the great fighting sequences, the pretty good story-lines and of course the Super Saiyan Power-Ups make this a definite action show. Even though the show ended in April 2003, it still has it's mark on pop culture as one of the first anime's to make it big in the US.

Spider-Man 3 (2007)
6/10
Not as Good as the Other Two
13 May 2007
Warning: Spoilers
The first two Spiderman movies were something of comic book greatness. For almost 3 years the most anticipated movie has been Spiderman 3, and when the movie opened in theaters I can surely say that it was probably one of the most disappointing movies of the year (especially under the hype) and failed to match the creative level of it's predecessors. The movie almost immediately starts off after the Second one where Peter Park narrates about how his life is so great! Things only go down from there as he gets relationship advice from his grandmother. Basically what is supposed to be an action movie is just pure boring banter for the first twenty minutes. Then a nice fight sequence between Peter Park and Harry Osbourne (AKA The Green Goblin) it ends up with him somehow getting amnesia and forgetting his hatred toward Peter. The movie completely strays into absurdness after that, with a story about an Ex-Criminal looking for medicine to save his kid (who only appears in one scene) and somehow ends up in a weird machine that turns him into Sandman! Then there is a mysterious alien symbiote comes from outer space and soon takes over Peter making him into an emo-wannabe with a cool looking dark suit. Along with an slimy journalist named Eddie Brock whose hatred toward Peter Park manifests after he gets him fired and how yet he gets the symbiote attached to himself. The movie is a hodge-podge of information pretty much left for a two on two fight sequence (which is probably what the writers wanted from the beginning). The movie is over sappy especially Peter Parker (He's supposed to be funny not a lover-boy). Probably a big problem of the movie is that Spiderman's life is going so well that his girlfriends starts to fall apart. But since Mary Jane isn't a Superhero it really isn't that interesting. Overall disappointing movie, they should have followed the comic book outline (where the symbiote comes from outer space and attaches itself onto a spaceship that Spiderman stops) and eliminated the Sandman totally he served almost no purpose. Good fighting sequences but the movie just wasn't enough.

Warning: Spoilers
In the previous episode Doug Ross was let go, his medical career in jeopardy and practically everyone in the ER somehow hating him. After taking shelter in his car during a heavy rainstorm, a boy comes up to him and tells him his brother is trapped between the river dam. Leave it up to Doug Ross to immediately rush into the situation and try and save the kid. As the Kid's brother dials for help, Ross tries to help the kid who is trapped behind a serious of metal bars. Barely remaining a float from drowning, Ross tries his best to help the kid but struggles at best. Even after Ross gets him out of the dam an ambulance and television crew arrive. Ross manages to save the kid and ends up taking the television helicopter back to County and after he arrives all soaked...Greene and the other Doctors help out and the kid is saved..Overall good episode, strong acting by George Clooney (he should have won an Emmy) and amazing intense action sequences. One of the Top 10 ER Episodes of all time.

The Episode that Made ER
22 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
The First season of ER in the beginning was pretty slow-paced (like most shows) but I think this episode just "set the tone" for the rest of the series. The episode starts off with Benton dealing with his sickening mother which is what we believe to be most of the episode..However the episode deals with Greene treating a pregnant woman (Jodie O'Brian)that he misdiagnosed but after she starts to seize things become extremely complicated. After Greene begins to see his error he starts to dig deep in probably the longest and most excruciating medical trauma in the history of the show. Things become more complicated when the OB are so busy that they can't come down to the ER and help Greene out. Despite the help of Lewis, Carter and Chen...Greene starts digging deeper and deeper into a bigger hole. Despite the help of the OB Doctor, Greene is only able to save the pregnant woman's child...killing Jodie O'Brien. The saddest moment of the episode is seeing everyone in the trauma staring at Greene as he gives chest compressions, and then just watching him walk out of the Emergency Room to tell Mr.O'Brian the news. But the saddest moment is the ending when Greene who was pretty much serious the entire episode, goes into a El-Train by himself and starts to cry.

Underrated 90's Hit (That came Full Circle)
22 April 2007
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was probably the most underrated show on television during the 90's. From what I recall it wasn't necessarily a humongous hit but because of a strong cult following the show managed for 6 seasons. The show itself focused on a street-wise kid (Will Smith) living with his relatives in rich relatives in L.A. His relatives include his strict home-hating Uncle Phil(Philip Banks), his equally strong-willed Aunt Vivian, his geeky and Tom Jones loving cousin Carlton, his spoiled rich cousin Hillary, and Ashley the normal one. Along with the Bankses arrogant British butler Geoffery. The show is very funny especially the Will and Carlton moments the chemistry is undeniable. The only disappointment is when they switch the Aunt-Vivian character with somebody not even close to the acting ability of the first one. Still though the show is good and the constant syndication on Nick At Nite has helped revive this other-wise unknown gem. Great Show!

Goodbye Dr. Greene.....(One of the Best ER episodes ever)
20 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
The episode starts off where Orion in the Sky ended, as Mark heads out of the ER and comes back home. While spending time with Elizabeth he decides he wants to write a list of things he plans on doing before he dies. The primary goal of that list is to "Fix Rachel" his daughter. So he decides to take her with him on a journey to Hawaii. However in Hawaii Rachel seems to care less about spending time with her dad, and more interested in taking drugs. It suddenly becomes clear how different Mark and Rachel are and how bad he feels for not spending time with her. Eventually though they start to get along and Mark tells Rachel about his childhood living on a naval base, he shows her how to drive and how to surf. But it still seems as though Rachel could careless and Greene angrily yells at her telling her "That nobody cares" before going into a seizure. Soon Elizabeth and Ella arrive and the cavalry spends what little time they have together. The sad moments are probably seeing Greene's state deteriorate as he tries to sing "Somewhere over the Rainbow" to his little daughter Ella. Soon Greene becomes confined to laying in his bed with an patch covering up his eye so he can sleep. Barely able to move, Greene's time finally seems to be over and his reaction can best be summarized when he swears "Shit" at the top of his lungs unable to get out of bed. Which is pretty sad as it is. After telling Elizabeth to write his will, Greene goes back to his bed preparing for his imminent death. However due to her-step mom Elizabeth's persistence, Rachel spends the last few moments of her father's life. As he dies, Greene tells his daughter how much she loved balloons as a kid and how she would always let it go, and tells her not to cry for him. Which she promises she won't do. After the Father-daughter bond is finally brought together, and Greene's final lines in the series are, "Be Generous...Always" as he is about to die. Soon his daughter puts on a headset to "Somewhere over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole....as the song plays Mark Greene starts to see the images of an empty ER with nobody in it except him and the images of Elizabeth and Ella along with Rachel. And finally the last shot of Greene occurs as he stares at Rachel and her friend, as he finally lightens up a smile...Immediately after wards Elizabeth comes in and feels Greene's dead pulse. Probably the hardest moment of the episode was witnessing the funeral with the entire cast of ER including Benton and Cleo as the stand depressed and bewildered by Greene's death. The ending of the episode is Rachel getting out of the car carrying Elizabeth, Ella and Mark's first wife Jen. After Rachel gets out she grabs a balloon from a random house and throws it in the air...As the balloon floats in the sky it begins to hit you as the violins play that Greene is dead...Which makes watching the episode depressing to begin with, but definitely one of the Greatest ER episodes ever.
