The Last King of Scotland (2006)
When democracy is replaced by tyranny
Unfortunately this movie is based on real facts and we can meet this kind of dictatorship even in the 21st century. When all the power is held by a single man his actions tend to become unreasonable and absurd.During those times that country struggled itself in poverty and misery while its leader swimming in richness. All great dictators had this cult of personality and they thought about themselves as being greatest, enlightened people and maybe gods in their countries.Forest Whitaker plays a veracious role and it's the right actor to play this character. He sends shivers on the spines when is raising his voice and emerge his anger.Definitely this film can be placed on your must seen list.
Morometii (1987)
Their struggle wasn't useless
The Moromete's Family is perhaps one of the best movies made in Romania. With a stunning acting from Victor Rebengiuc (Ilie Moromete), the main character of this movie. The script follows the homonym novel and manage to transpose a inter war reality from Romanian countryside. Moromete wasn't just a poor peasant who had been trying to survive in that period among with his family. He had a developed way of thinking unlike his villagers, he used to smoke his cigarette, and to speak with his two friends: Dumitru and Cocosila, about polictics, economy and social life. One of his memorable reply is " I don't have", it's talking about his financial resources because he never had enough to pay his taxes. Even so his courtyard was his theater scene, he used to act like an actor on the stage for the other ones amazement. Sometimes Moromete became angry and was beating his 2 older sons from his first marriage, because they were lazy and greedy. In the first part of the movie (novel), " the time had everlasting patience with people" in the end, the time hadn't had this tolerance with them at all. A classic movie, must be seen by everyone who want to understand his roots.

K-PAX (2001)
Is this world what we think it is ?
Prot is a man that is supposed to has a mental ill,but is he really mad ?,or is just an alien in a human body ?Kevin Spacey does to be veracious in his role and finally is near to convince even his therapist that he speak the truth. The storyline is very good,it is full of neologism and astronomy terms, even so the story is hard to believe but it brings in front of us a great actor, who deserves all the praises for his performances.I have found this movie very interesting it show a nice landscape of the universe who surround our earth and the end of the movie makes all the difference. It's not a masterpiece but it's a good choice to watch it.

Men of Honor (2000)
A man who was born to dive
A wise man once said " You were born to win,but to be a winner you must plan to win, prepare to win and expect to win".Well,Carl Brashear was a man who fulfilled all these requirements.A man with a strong heart and a burning desire who followed his father's advice to don't come back in his little village and who built a career in a field which a man in his condition would had been hard to reach. On the other side De Niro's role, revealed his truly manhood,as a commandant in the U.S Navy through the director managed to show us the rise and fall of a man,but finally, somehow he succeed to rise up again and to plead for Brashear's cause. This movie is a great story about honor, strength, desire and recognition of value.Cuba Gooding Jr.had a good acting and Robert De Niro's performance as always, was at the level of expectations.
