Layanam (1990)
Layanam- Lust in Love
One of my fab movie which actually has a story and story which is par excellence.... In the early 90's, this movie is way ahead of its time. B or C grade movie but doesn't matter at all. Because of the plot this movie is less adult rather a depth of message for the society. Silk Smitha and Nandu are just adorable in the movie and looks sweet couple. But destiny turns around and the widow (Silk Smitha) who falls love in Nandu and so do Nandu at last died which was in the climax which actually steals the shows.
Reshma ki Jawani was the hindi adoption. But I don't understand why people calls its a adult sex movie??? In my opinion, its a movie where love is more than lust and seriously this movie is a all time gem.
Overall, a excellent movie which has a story which has strong message in the climax.
Kafan (1990)
Kafan.... A decent oldie horror flick
This movie was in its 1st half was quite boring but in dramatic twist its increases the speed in the 2nd half.
In the early 90's, it was a decent horror movie with good story, music and some what masala of horror genre which at that time most of the film makers try to do with same content but with different title. Jamuna plays the role of ghost and justified her role. Javed Khan also did justice with his role as the hero. But other actors were simply useless and with the addition of other cheap actors the movie only happened boring but overall its a decent one time watch.
A one time watch movie for horror lovers.
Jungle Hero (2002)
Alas another Tarzan in the jungle
This is a complete crap in the name of tarzan movie. Story matches no where and only sleeky scenes are there and that to utter crap. Amit Pachori is the jungle hero aka tarzan of the movie and dialogue delivery is absolutely hillarious..... Kirty Shethy is the heroine and she is the only watchable person in the movie for some of the steamy scenes. Duplicates are abundant in this movie. I dont know why many actors were taken for this movie which is absolutely not needed. Vinod tripathy again the regular actor of C grade movies. Not at all matched from the original tarzan movie released in 1985.
Pathetic movie with waste of time..... Lol.
Tamboo Mein Bamoo (2001)
Strange Title but Full Paisa Wasool movie
I remember this movie when first watched the movie in bringing original CD and had curiosity in watching it due to its strange title. ") But when i watched the movie I dont understand what exactly the producer and director gave the title to justify the story. Well story starts with two village young birds who love each other but story takes a turn when the goan ki gori Satnam Kaur went to take a bath in a pond or river god knows, where she was raped by a washerman who used to say " Jabse choda hai Jaunpur tabse na mili hai" hahaha..... and continues to rape her till he faints. Satnam Kaur then went for help to a doctor cum rapist for shelter. Again the same thing happened with her; as the funny doctor tries to rape her and in the mean while a forester (Actot Gurbachan) less and moreover looking like a goon comes to rescue her and takes her to his saw mill. But again same thing happened with her, the forester raped her and even pees in her body which i found very much strange and how come censor board passed that scene even that time. Now all washerman and funny doctor comes and with the amalgamation with the forester they continue to rape her and throws her in road side. Helpless Satnam Kaur then went for help to the police station where again a monster policemen molest her. Aaaaaaa now the rape victim takes revenge one by one and kills all the rapists. And Raza murad the corrupt policemen turned pious in the end.
Hats off to director Dil Kumar who funnily maintains and manage to execute the entire movie with strange movie title. I hope one day this movie will gain cult status for sure.
Overall, a good plot but title is nowhere matching the story. The title of the movie could have been like 'Badla Satnam Ki" Lol.
Wohi Bhayanak Raat (1989)
Kiran Kumar Fantabulous Performance as Vampire
This is indeed one of my fab horror flick that has its all. Vinod Talwar directorial venture of Wohi Bhayanak Raat has every masala of bollywood horror and in the late 90's which make different from Ramsay horror movies. A remake of Hollywood Flick "Fright Night". Kiran Kumar as the vampire is indeed too good to be called as the satan and his acting also very nice. His long coat with red gamcha, sharp claws, sharp canine teeths with vampire head feels scary in that era. Other actors did justify to their roles. Bijlian aankhon mein song is too good and melodious.
Overall, a decent horror movie with justification to the roles and background score also hits well to the scenes.
Bunglow No. 666 (1990)
Dubbed version of Wohi Bhayanak Raat
Well this movie is quite interesting in its title. Also the movie is based on bollywood horror flick "Wohi Bhayanak Raat" and Hollywood horror gem "Fright Night". Am a lover of Horror flicks and excited to watch this movie and brought its original CD and watched it and i found scene by scene copy of wohi bhayanak raat. But one thing am confused which movie was released early though its released year was 1990 and wohi bhayanak raat released year was 1989. The movie was excellent in its entire plot though scene to scene copy. The hero was Kapil Karzan who played dracula in the movie. He is a tall and handsome guy who is well fit in the long coat as a vampire. The other actor who played Tony was seen in the bollywood B grade movie "Khuli Khidki"-1987. Rest of the actors were unknown and i guess south actors. Few songs of the movie are so melodious. The climax of the movie was excellent.
Overall, a decent horror flick and definitely recommended for horror movie lovers. A multi time watchable movie.
Pyaasi Atma (1988)
Pyasi Atma- A good story with Unknown actors
When i was hardly 6-7 years old, I saw the poster in the wall and had child curiosity to watch the movie as a film buff. And finally watched the movie in 2015 in bringing a CD pack. Story is very interesting in the 1st half. But as the story moves ahead, story looses its theme and 2nd half is quite boring. But few songs are good and melodious. Its main drawback is its actors. Now the hero of the movie doesnt actually looks hero rather a supporting actor. Amar is the hero while Sunila Singh and Vishakha were the actress. I dont know exactly among Sunila and Vishakha who was the lady witch. But the rubber faced pyasi atma is not up to the mark.
Supporting actors were good in their roles but still could have been better if known actors were taken. But in comparison to other cheap horror movies of post 2000, this one is a one time watch with patience.
