Oppenheimer (2023)
Mission: Impossible - 1945
Christopher Nolan delivers in a three hour film that is arguably more epic in scope in capturing the life and moments of J Robert Oppenheimer from exploring relativity in prestigious German universities to harnessing fire in the Mew Mexican desert to create a weapon that both can save but also destroy humanity before the Nazis do. Cillian Murphy, Christopher Nolan, and Ludwig Goransson (his soundtrack will teleport you to another plain of existence) are a Trinity match made in heaven. Emily Blunt is also flawless as Kitty nailing a accent that's very 1940s to a T. Florence Pugh although in a short performance is also mesmerizing as Jean, an initial love interest whose also brilliant as Oppy but whose relationship will spell tragedy for them both. And now there's Robert Downey Jr as Lewis Strauss; the envious demagogue who seeks to undermine Oppy's position in the United States atomic energy institute; he nails every second he's in a role from charming to outright Joseph McCarthy.
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (2023)
Not really the mission I wanted
Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning part 1 while enjoyable for the action short changes the story and characters we've come to love and all the build up from the last two films thrown out the window; sacrificing a few of its best character arcs in hasty decisions that felt so last minute in favor of spectacular stunts and bigger set pieces leaving a bitter and cynical after taste of all too familiar territory from the first three films that killed potentially killed My further interest in future installments.
All the while Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt is a delight too watch and so is Rebecca Ferguson as enchanting as the former femme fatale turned alluring anti hero Ilsa Faust makes you wanting more.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Brief review
If Death Notes were real I would only use it on two people David Benioff & Dan Weiss
Anyways Jesse it's time to cook!
Game of Thrones: The Long Night (2019)
5 stars for impressive directing 0 for cowardice by the writers
So D & D promised that the build up to this episode would make the Red Wedding seem like a rehearsal, but in the last minute they turned out to be utter cowards this time!
ABBA: When All Is Said and Done (2017)
Don't waste your time searching it on YouTube
Very dull and cliche dramatic doc. it just felt like a follow up to Freddie Mercury: Who Wants to Live Forever only I found the ladder a lot more enjoyable. also they have the audacity to include interviews by the stalker defending himself! these producers should be deaf so they never hear ABBA's music again.
