Christmas with a Prince (2018)
I enjoyed this movie series.
I really enjoyed this movie series.
The female star is beautiful, and the Prince is uniquely handsome, and very well fit. They seemed very well match together.
There is light drama in it, with some interesting scenes. I thought the acting was well done for the story. I can't believe how low the rating for this movie is, doesn't make sense at all to me.
Yes, it says Christmas in the title, but it has very little Christmas in it. This is like many of the other Prince movies. Girl meets Prince and has to overcome Royal complications to be together.
I thought the King and Queen in this movie, where very good people. Their characters acted very different then you would expect. To me, it really added to the quality of the movie.
Kaitlyn really showed some iron will, fighting for what she believed as a Doctor. It really makes you respect her.
All movies like this are just fantasies, you know the girl will get the Prince, or the Prince will get the girl, we are just along for the ride. So try to just enjoy the ride with them.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Bad Trailer, Good Show. Modern take, on a old show. Watch with Open Mind!
The trailer for this show was poorly chosen. When you think Star Trek, you don't think chaos, you think order, and calm rational thought. The trailer was pure chaos in action, very unlike Star Trek.
The show on the other hand, is very Star Trek, with everything you would expect.
When I first heard about this series, and then saw the trailer, I thought this show was doing force diversity, diversity for diversity sake. Like shoving a square into a round hole. Doesn't really work out very well.
I made my opinion on the show, that it was going to crash and burn.
I was wrong.
The show is nothing like the trailer. It's very orderly, calm, and rational.
I'm a sci-fi fan, I don't care what you look like, I care about how you act, and interact with others, and I judge people individually, and try not to let the actions of a few, poison my view on a whole race.
So I could care less if the captain is female, and the 1st officer. I only care if they are good in their parts.
Michelle Yeoh did a good job, but we didn't really get to know her very well.
Sonequa Martin-Green, the 1st officer, I really like her character. I didn't realize she was at least Vulcan trained, not sure if she is part Vulcan or not, till a bit into the show. It made me look at her character differently.
I didn't see any characters that I didn't like.
I've seen many reviews complaining about how high tech everything looks, instead of making it look old style like the original, since this takes place 10 years before the first series.
Well, I look at it this way. This is a reboot of the series, and today, we have much better CGI and so forth, that they made the ship look high tech as it should be. They even changed the Klingon's greatly. The art style is really good.
Yet, for some reason, we didn't see any shields during the fight, it was like they were defenseless. I like seeing shields, the lack of the depiction of shields feels wrong.
The preview for the coming series, is a much better trailer of the show than what they chose. This series looks like it holds promise.
This is a modern day take, on a very old series, it takes place 10 years before the original, yet, looks like it took place far in the future after it. I don't really have a problem with this. Every new Star Trek series after this, can look high tech as well, which I think of as a plus.
I think this show was made with a lot of thought, and hopefully the following episodes have a lot in store for us. So, try watching this series with a open mind, and stop living in the past.
Scorpion (2014)
I think this show has promise.
I think this show has promise.
I like how they tried to depict the group as being very smart, making them more abnormal to normal society. Because of their intelligence, they look at things differently than other people. Which doesn't always make things easier.
I thought Katharine McPhee did a really good job in this. I didn't realize who she was until after the show was over. She just looked really familiar to me, and I couldn't place her. I like the idea of having her being sort of a translator for these smart guys, to help them see things from a different level, and I like the whole thing with her son, and the fact that the guys can understand him and vice versa. It almost made the kid seem normal, I liked that they depicted that as well.
There are tons of shows that start off being a little shaky, but after a few episodes, they find their legs, and start running strong. This show has possibilities, and lots of promise, and I hope it stays around long enough to prove one way or another.
Watch this show for yourself, and decide.
A Good Man (2014)
This was a well made movie.
This was a well made movie. The movie felt polished, and thought out. I have seen most every Seagal movie made, and he did a really good job with this one. His sword work looked really well done.
If you like Seagal, and you would like to watch a good movie, then this will do. I didn't expect much from this movie when I sat down to watch it, but I'm really glad I did. I see myself rewatching it at a later date.
Victor Webster does a good job as well. Had some good fight scenes in it.
Iulia Verdes was good, as the good looking girl who needed protection. I've never seen her before, but I wouldn't mind seeing her in more movies.
Really, all the characters in this movie did a creditable job, and I didn't notice any bad acting, for a action movie.
Hanna (2011)
This movie ticked me off! They really dropped the ball with this one.
They make a big deal out of this young girl being trained all her life to be like a super soldier, it's a really interesting idea. Then they screw it all the hell.
Her father teaches her to be good with a gun. But only uses one in the beginning of the movie. That's it.
I guess her father never learned how to change his appearance, to sneak or use cover when running away from someone with a gun. So, he never taught Hanna. Hanna is suppose to be a killing machine. But she can't take out 3 guys that are chasing her, and Marrisa is better trained then her somehow. She is able to sneak up on her father and Hanna with no problem. At the very end, it's just plain dumb luck that Marrisa didn't just shoot her in the head.
This movie had so much going for it. But it's so weak, they screwed up so many things. Most of the movie could have been done by a untrained girl. It started good, and just fell all the part.
People wonder why Action movies are dying, it's because they are making crappy Action movies. The star is suppose to kick everyone's ass. Not the other way around.
The father wanted Marrisa dead. 10 years later, he could have just walked up behind her and shot her dead. He was a dead man anyway. Who would know it was him.
This is just a pointless movie.
What happen to the family she was riding with. Probably dead, but you never find out.
Before I started watching this movie, I read reviews. I saw a lot of people hating on this movie. I see this a lot, and thought they were just another bunch of idiots who don't like movies that make you think, or have a deeper meaning or something like that. Never thought I would agree with them. I would say, don't waste your time, unless your really bored.
The girl from Kickass should have done this movie. Not the actress, just the character from Kickass. She would have kicked ass here. Hanna wouldn't stand a chance.
Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight (2008)
This movie is pretty good. You can feel the spirit of the story
Don't listen to all the poor reviews here. This Movie is pretty good. It is short, being only 90mins. But I felt they really kept the spirit of the characters and story alive, and the actors did a very good job with the characters they were give.
No, the animation isn't like super up to date. But I thought it was well done, and the combo of 3d was done much better then a lot of shows I've seen. If you go in to watching this show, with the thought that every scene, every word, every joke is in this movie of the first book, you will be disappointed. Watch this movie with a open mind, and just be glad they did as good as they did. Which was pretty good considering...
This isn't really a kids show. There is death, impalements, and some blood. I give this show high marks for taking a chance, and having the guts to make this danger more real, by showing these scenes. You usually only find stuff like this in anime. Where they aren't scared to have mature scenes.
There is sex appeal, Being a guy myself, I thought the girls looks very nice, and very mature. All the characters really showed their strength of character. Which is hard to do in any live show, and this was just a cartoon.
They are the makings of heroes. I've read just about every Dragonlance book made. I'm a true fan of this world, and of Fantasy Fiction. I tip my hat to the creators of this movie, and I'm proud of the actors who took on this movie, knowing that the fan boys would probably tear them apart, and probably ruin any chance of there being a part 2 and 3 to finish the trilogy.
No this movie won't win a Oscar, but it's far better then most of these reviews give it credit for.
I'd really like to see the rest of the trilogy made, and I hope they keep the mature scenes through out. Don't shrink from the critics, and keep your vision for this story going. Keep daring to be different from the rest of the crowd.
