The Being Frank Show (2010)
Absolutely embarrassing infomercial
The glowing reviews are either sarcasm or Frank opened the family wallet and paid people to leave a great review. Frank is one of those guys born on third base and thinks he hit a triple. Thinks he's Sinatra, Pacino and Carson all rolled into one. He pays these out of work former TV personalities to be his yes men while he tries to interview D-list celebrities. And that's the good part. When he starts to sing or God forbid act do yourself a favour and plug your ears. As a Canadian I'm sorry CHCH is so poor they'll take his money and give him air time. If you know someone you'd like to punk at Christmas time by all means send them Franks CD. You'll never see that person again.
The Beachcombers (1972)
Only the scenery is worthwhile
Typically awful Canadian TV series. The view of BC is nice but once you get past that the rest is horrible. It's a little sickening to realize we taxpayers funded such nonsense. It's no coincidence not one of these actors found work post Beachcombers. The Littlest Hobo is like Gone with the Wind compared to the Beachcombers. If you'd like to see what awful public television looks like this is it.
Seinfeld: The Betrayal (1997)
Creatively at its finest
This is a hilarious parody of Harold Pinters The Betrayal. For any of those taking offence perhaps you need to elevate your education or try to stop watching TV thru race coloured glasses.
Maid (2021)
The love for this is unwarranted
I realize you need to suspend disbelief when it comes to fictional drama but the decisions made by the lead character go way past believable. Rating this anything above a 5 shows what sort of viewer we're talking about. This is not in the league of say The Queen's Gambit in terms of acting, writing, or anything else for that matter.
Friends (1994)
It's ok but the worshipping is ridiculous
You really need to suspend disbelief to buy the premise of this show. It pales in comparison to Seinfeld. I'm guessing most of the rave reviews are from teenage girls who think these 6 could ever afford to live in Manhattan.
The Young and the Restless (1973)
What garbage
They won't let me give this garbage a zero so I guess it's a one. How this show manages to stay on the air for 40 plus years is beyond me. It must be cheap to produce or something is my best guess. Like every other daytime drama its totally lacking in any sort of realism. It's a comic book look at life for housewives and the unemployed. All the characters are rich and beautiful but nobody works. I think this probably appeals to their two target demographics I listed earlier. Frankly animated shows like the Simpsons do a much better job of portraying reality. Hopefully the new generation will finally put an axe to drivel like this on TV.
