Not Very Entertaining
15 January 2020
This show suffers for a lot of different reasons. The humor is repetitive and often too juvenile to be funny. I know Lily's past content on YouTube was targeted at children. But she's hosting a late night show at 1 in the morning, so these jokes should be aimed at an older audience. But they're very simplistic and leave a lot to be desired. It also doesn't help how mean spirited these jokes are. Like how many times do you have to bring down white men and how terrible they are? And no, this isn't coming from a white man.

The laughing audience is really annoying too. They laugh at every little thing she says. She doesn't even have to say the joke and they're laughing like it's the funniest thing in the world. It's obnoxious and makes me want to mute the TV. There's also other stuff like the skits are dragged out for too long, Lily's over the top attitude is really awkward to watch, her bragging feels like she's trying to reinforce how great she is and this whole show is just a chore to sit through.

Do not watch this late night show. There's better ones out there. Lily isn't funny at all, the overreacting audience feel like they're trapped in the studio whenever they laugh and the whole thing feels very cheap. I'm not sure who's to blame. Was it Lily? Her writing team? NBC executives? Someone made a bad call. This is the unfunniest talk show I've ever watched.

RWBY: Volume 5 (2018 Video)
2/10
Worst Volume So Far
6 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
RWBY has been my love hate show. It has moments I really like and then sometimes it's complete trash. And after the disappointment from Volume 4, I was really hoping this season would be better. But it's even worse.

Ruby Rose isn't a character at this point. She doesn't do anything in this volume at all and she's the main character. She only gets one scene with Oscar and that's all the character development she needs. While her teammates get more characterization than her. Not once does she ever question her Silver Eyes powers to Ozpin, not once does she mention her mother or even ask about her and spends a lot of her time giving speeches because shes the protagonist.

The pacing in this volume is all over the place! At the beginning there's setup for the characters to train. But we get one training scene and that's all we need. But don't worry, we get plenty of scenes of the characters talking inside the house. And the talk is all exposition. The middle of this volume feels so slow because nothing happens or they're building up to something that might happen. But only during the last four episodes are we getting some action. Then when it seems like there's going to be a fight, it cuts away and we're not shown the fight.

A highlight of RWBY has always been the action scenes and they're some good ones. Like the Sun Vs Ilia brawl, Weiss Vs Lancers, Yang Vs the Bandits, Raven Vs Cinder and I even liked Blake Vs Ilia. The finale fight is garbage. You would think it would be a battle royal where characters go all at each other from different sides. Instead we have to deal with fights being cut away, stopping the fight for more exposition or just not showing the fight to show something less important. Ruby doesn't even use her incredibly useful super speed semblance once during that fight, even though it could have helped her! We get one scene of Yang's rematch with Mercury and that's it. Emerald and Ruby's fight is nothing more than Emerald shooting bullets and Ruby blocking them with her scythe. We never even get to see Qrow and his sister Raven fight each other. Some of the fights have completely absurd moments in it as well. Blake freezes both Fennec and Corsac in ice. And doesn't finish them off with an attack. Instead, she stands around talking! What makes this even worse is that Blake already froze Roman Torchwick back in Volume 2 and then immediately after that she knocked him down and beat him! Why does Kali stand in the middle of a room with no protection from people shooting at her? And then she's somehow able to block bullets with a tea tray. I've shot with guns before and believe me, there should be holes in that tea tray. But there isn't because logic doesn't exist.

Now here's some more of my complaints with this volume in quick points.
  • Cinder is an idiot who doesn't fight Ruby once despite being wrapped up in revenge and then ruins Salem's plan for the sake of her own greed.
  • Why were the characters all upset that Ozpin could turn people into birds but they weren't worried when his soul literally took over the life of an innocent person?
  • We barely see Mistral and it's culture.
  • Weiss getting impaled only for Jaune to get his semblance was lazy and predictable.
  • Why did Miles and Kerry think it was a good idea for Ruby to randomly activate her Silver Eyes?
  • Why is Yang surprised that Raven killed the Spring Maiden when Raven literally made an alliance with the people who destroyed Beacon and is a bandit?
  • Hazel's backstory is forced into his fight with Oscar/ Ozpin and it has lots of holes in it that weren't addressed.
  • Adam get knocked in the back of the head by Blake was stupid as was his tiny scuffle with Blake and Sun.
  • The forced happy ending where everything is fine and everyone is happy made me skip the post end credit scene out of frustration.
  • Sienna Khan is a wasted character killed in her debut episode.
  • Ilia's important backstory is only told and shown.
  • Adam has gone from a faunus who does horrible things in the name of equality for his people to Blake's jealous ex.
  • Why was the confrontation between Cinder and Jaune so necessary when Cinder wants to go after Ruby more?
  • The villains become so weak because of the plot.

This volume....ugh. I didn't want to hate it. I had high hopes for this one when I realized we would have more episodes and a final destination for all the characters to be at. But every wrong choice they could have made, they did. And for RWBY's hardcore fans, I'm not a hater. I'm even wearing a RWBY shirt right now as I'm writing this but this volume did the impossible. It made me not want to watch the rest of RWBY Volume 5 until it was over. I was done by the time episode 9 happened and just couldn't be bothered to watch the rest until it was done. I pray that Volume 6 becomes the saving grace this series needs. I'm not even excited for the next volume after this volume ended. Because by the end of RWBY: Volume 5 I was just depressed.

Stick With The Original
18 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I know most Disney Sequels are awful and this one was just a bothersome to sit through.

1. The old characters we loved from the first movie are dull and pushed to the side for the new characters. The new characters are annoying and one dimensional. Nothing about these characters stands out. Scamp is an annoying puppy, Angel has a past but that's still not very interesting, the villain Buster is just awful, the other dogs are idiots and the dogcatcher isn't funny so he's just obnoxious.

2. The story is basically the same lesson from the first movie. Stay with the people who care about you because they matter the most basically. This movie does the same except with irritating characters so instead we're stuck in a rehashed story from the first movie but is done worst.

3. The villain in this movie is awful. First, why do we need a villain? Didn't the first movie prove that there isn't a need for a villain? The rat was just acting like rats do, the cats were being mischievous like most cats are, the aunt was just trying to take care of the baby and the dog catcher was just doing his job. Second, we don't need so tedious villain because the filmmakers think that this movie would be too boring if no villain is established.

4. The songs aren't that impressive. The love song is so cliché, the family song is pointless, that welcome home song was unnecessary and the villain song is just annoying. At least some of the songs in the original were good like Bella Notte, The Siamese Song and He's a Tramp.

Yes I know I compared this movie a lot to the original but maybe I wouldn't have to if it wasn't trying to be like the original. They did the same thing in the Little Mermaid 2, why did they do that? Just stick with the original while eating some Bolognese spaghetti. You'll have a much more memorable time. You don't have to like my opinion but I don't have to live your movie.

Just Skip It
6 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Whether you love anime or not don't watch this.

1. The animation is nice but nothing huge.

2. Romance in this series sucks! The man is just a huge jerk who treats Erika like a worthless animal. He's not a hero we should be rooting for and yet this series keeps telling us he's good. How can we get behind their romance if he's only been arrogant around her.

3. The characters are all shallow and dull. Erika is a whiny teenager who wants a boyfriend, Sata is a nice on the outside but cold in the inside, her 'friends' Aki and Marin are clique girls who only ever talk about their boyfriends.

4. The story revolves around Sata and Erika being a pretend couple. Erika wanted to have friends so badly that she lied about having a boyfriend. Karma comes around and the guy she showed a picture of who her boyfriend is goes to the same school as her. So now she has to lie to her 'friends' about having a 'boyfriend' just so she won't be alone. That's one pathetic teenage girl right there. The guy goes along with it because he wants to use her as a dog. Yeah, why are we supposed to be rooting for these two again?

Yes the series does get better but it takes so LONG and every second of this series makes it feel five times longer than it actually is. The story is dreadful, the romance is horrendous and the characters are bad. If you want romance anime please watch Toradora, Kamisama Hajimemashita or Kaichou Wa Maid Sama. Stay far away from this.

Tarzan (2013)

This Is So Bad
22 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Nothing about this movie seemed like they wanted to try or even cared about the source material of Tarzan. It seemed like they didn't care about the book but they will rip off the Disney movie.

1. The animation is pure ugly garbage. Their faces look unnatural, their movement look like they're zombies, the gorillas didn't look that impressive and the environment was bleak.

2. The writing is awful and makes you want to watch a different movie. They rip off Disney movies moments like the scene with the water and don't even know what the true names of Tarzans parents were. Plus there are too many questions. Why did this movie take place in modern times? Why did the bad guys want the meteor? Why was the bad guy trying to blow up the meteor even though he said it was valuable?

3. The characters are all dull. Tarzan is the hero, Jane is the love interest, Clayton is the bad guy and everyone else are side characters. Plus the romance between Tarzan and Jane is terrible. They barely know each other. Jane is supposed to be the teacher of Tarzan to help him learn civilized values but she's just here cause Tarzan thinks she looks pretty.

4. There is narration in this story....it's really bad. The narrator will bluntly say out loud what you can clearly say what we can see on the screen. Not only that, he will also say what's going to be happening before it happens. The narrating is really distracting and takes you out from the movie.

This movie doesn't care about the source material, the Disney movie that it rips off and it doesn't care about itself. Just watch another movie.

Just Boring
19 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
If you like this movie good for you but I'm sorry this was just dull.

1. The characters are all one-dimensional and emotionless. I hardly know anything about these people and they could have been swapped out and I wouldn't have cared.

2. The action itself really isn't that interesting. It has a few good shots but the movie drags out for so long that I eventually don't care about what's happening. Even the sci-fi isn't that interesting.

3. These aren't bad actor/ actresses but they acted terrible in this movie. I'm not sure who to blame but they all deliver there dialog like they were asleep.

4. This movie explains to much. Yes, explaining is necessary in movies but instead of talking about these amazing worlds just show them to us. It's like listening to a conference at work and your boss is speaking in this monotone dreary voice.

5. The plot is like a bunch of other action and sci-fi movies. Star Wars, Stark Trek, North and even Masters of The Universe. I could on and on about the movies it rips off.

You don't need a movie with big details, complicated back stories, unrealistic names 'Jupiter Jones', people looking serious never showing emotions and tons of explosions. If you want great action movies with sci-fi watch Star Wars or the Matrix.

The Humans Ruined It
26 May 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This would have been a great animated movie. However when they added the human characters it was awful.

1. The animation was great. The cells moved like they were supposed to move. The world it painted looked interesting and pretty unique.

2. The characters that are animated are great but the live action ones are terrible. Ozzy is funny, Drix is smart but has his own comedic side and the villains Thrax is great! Too bad that the humans are dull, gross and unintelligent morons that couldn't tie their own shoes. The daughter is smarter than her father and even then she's still bad at acting.

3. The comedy is well done. I liked Ozzy and Drix with their funny banter. The other side characters are also very funny. Too bad that the human comedy is gross out humor that only a four year old could laugh at.

4. The story is pretty nice. Thrax the virus tries to kill Frank in 48 hours so he can beat his record at killing humans. Ozzy and his new pal Drix are the only ones who can stop Thrax and have to work together. It's clique yes but it works. The humans...aren't very important with the story and are there just because.

Like I've stated before it's the humans that ruined the movie. It's good but cut out the humans and this would be way better!

Still More Pokemon?
4 May 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I'm shocked that even after all these years that Pokemon is still going. I can understand the games continuing but the show just lacks a connection to the audience. The first Pokemon series was pretty good, the second was okay, the third was dull, the fourth one tried a little bit harder than the fourth, the fifth was okay but this one is just bad.

The characters are all boring stereotypes that you could find in any kids show. You've got the hero, his sidekicks, cute animal friends, one shot villains, annoying villains and other unimportant characters. Plus it doesn't help that when they changed the voice acting on Ash he sounded awful.

The battle are starting to lose me. I hardly care to watch them because I don't care about the trainers they affect. The games made it more exciting because you were there trying to survive and not lose. Here, it's just boring.

The animation is nothing new but easy on the eyes.

Overall it's another Pokemon series trying to make money. The games are cool but the show doesn't work out. It suffers from the same plot as every other Pokemon series, hardly tolerable characters, horrid voice acting and uninteresting action scenes. Just watch something else.

Not A Bieber Fan And Not A Fan Of This Movie
17 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Why many girls are infatuated with him is beyond my comprehension. However just watching this movie from a critics stand point wasn't very good.

1. It didn't make me connect with anyone. He had a lot of different guest stars and family members but when it was all over I forgot completely who any of them are. My teenage cousin went to go see this movie with friends and even she didn't seem to care for it.

2. The songs are very forgettable. The most I know about these songs are that they are sung by Justin Bieber and most of them are pop. That's it.

3. As a document itself it wasn't really a document. It just shows music performance, backstage, celebrities, awards and maybe five percent talked about Justin Bieber. So it doesn't do a correct job at that.

This could have been a decent document but it fails at doing that. It didn't get me invested into what it what's trying to teach which sucks because I like movie documents. Sorry Justin Bieber fans but this isn't very good. I won't comment on the kid himself (though I will say nowadays he seems very arrogant) but I didn't get invested into his movie.

Who Thought This Was A Good Idea?
17 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
When the Nostalgia Critic mentioned a sequel to the first awful movie I was shocked and saw the movie myself. My expression was either rage or stunned.

1. The animation is pretty bad. The designs are confusing and weird. Plus the lip syncing doesn't even work.

2. The 'story' is involving them looking for the Titanic for some unknown reason and then they go to Atlantis. This is so dumb on so many levels. Plus they're too many plot holes and unanswered questions. Why did to Atlantis people help the humans? I thought they were supposed to be secret. Plus why are they trying to stop the rats when they don't have the magic elixir and just have water instead? Why didn't they send the humans back home? They have families and friends who probably miss them and you stuck them on a deserted island. How can the rats take over the world with an elixir that can only be used to breath under water? The list goes on and on.

3. The characters are dull and flat. I don't know anything about them and hardly remember their names. They could be replaced by totally different characters and you would never be able to tell the difference.

The Titanic is a tragic event that killed thousands of lives. This is a way you want to remember the lost lives? Creating a movie that's pretty much insulting them and the audience alike? I'm sorry but that's repulsive.

Stick with the James Cameron version and leave this film under the waves.

Another Awful Teenage Romance Movie
16 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
When I heard they were making another Beauty and The Beast remake I thought it was extremely unnecessary but kept an open mind. Sadly though it was extremely horrible.

1. The characters are terrible and dull to watch. I know hardly anything about these people so why should I care about what's happening with them? It doesn't help that they're acting makes Megan Fox look like Jenifer Lawrence, yes it's that bad.

2. The romance in this movie is horrendous. Remember how Beast in the Disney movie saved Belles life and that helped start their romance? In this movie all he does is give her nice things. At least when Beast showed Belle the library he knew she liked those things so he was interested in her personality. The girl in this movie is okay with falling in love with someone that is keeping her hostage and the guy can't think of a clever way to win her heart other than give her stuff. Which makes him more unlikable since he blackmailed her father into letting her stay with him. Heck he even stalks her after spending only two scenes together. Which apparently is never creepy in any movie (Twilight.) 3. The story is a mess with plot holes and too many questions that have no answers. Why can't they find a doctor that help his baldness and skin? Why did he think that insulting a crowd to gain their votes for election was a good idea? Why did the maid and Neil Patrick Harris suddenly get their wishes fulfilled? Why didn't the main male lead stop the second drug dealer at the beginning so he wouldn't hurt the girl? I could go on and on but that would be wasting time.

This is one of the worst teenage romances ever. Nothing about this movie worked well. Neil Patrick Harris had a few funny moments but even then he had some bad dialog. The story sucks, the acting sucks, the romance sucks, the characters suck, the pacing sucks and it left a bad taste with me.

Just watch the Disney movie or if you want one that's more similar to the fantasy book watch the French movie 1946 made by Jean Cockteau.

A Unique And Beautiful Film
16 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This was the first movie I ever saw in Theaters. I never got to see movies in theaters because my parents thought at the time it was a waste of money. However they let me go see this movie and I was dazzled.

1. The animation is some of the best Dreamworks animation. The horses look like real horses and show great expression without any talking. The humans are drawn nicely too depicting the time-line they were living in. The backgrounds are wondrous on the eyes.

2. The characters hardly ever speak except for the narration, the Indian and Sgt. Adams along with minor characters. The animals never speak which can be really hard to do but it worked perfectly. The narration was done when needed and was quiet when all you needed was to see the horses expression. However these are good characters.

3. The story is pretty easy to follow. Plus it helps that you want to see them all over come their obstacles. Even the bad guy learns a good lesson. I was thrilled to see Spirit and Rain come home.

Go see the movie! You will love it!

I Hate Bad Romance Movies
16 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Every-time I watch a romance movie I'm going to either really love it or really hate it. This movie is one of those examples.

1. The characters are so bland and forgettable. They don't learn anything from there experience. All I know about the main guy is that he rides bulls and that's it. The lead girl is into art and nothing else. Alan Alda is old with letters and that's all we know about him. Every character is just a one character description.

2. The story has too many coincidences and questions. What was his health problem that injured him so badly? Why does her family take her to the bull rides? Why did the guy promise to quit bull riding but only after he won the championship? Plus the coincidences are over the top. The elderly mans wife happened to be an artist like the main girl, his wife had issues with him going to war kind of like the bull riding with the two leads, the wife also had difficulties in their relationship just like the leads, she collects art just like the main girl etc.

3. The romance is so dull and bleak to watch. After maybe five weeks of knowing each other she gets into a fight with him saying: how can you do this when I've given up every thing for you? I'm sorry but you've had an on and off relationship with him for five weeks. You shouldn't plan ahead with him in a life when you've hardly known him. Most of the time they talk it's exposition dialog that doesn't improve their characters so they can know each other.

This movie is just every example of a bad romance movie. No chemistry of romance with the leads, no character development with anyone in general, unanswered questions, too many coincidences and overall it feels five times longer than it actually is with it's awful pacing. The opening to UP is more romantic than this.

Just watch Amélie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or The Princess Bride. Those are better romances than this mess.

Sonic X (2003–2006)
2/10
Could Have Been So Much But Gave So Little
13 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Sonic X looks great if you just saw the poster. However if you sit down and watch it you will find it's not what it seems to be.

1. The story is pretty awful. For some reason the Chaos Emerald transport Sonic and his friends to Earth (I'm getting Smurfs vibes) and stays with some kid named Chris until he and the others return home. When they do return home soon after two seasons they have to go up to space. The story doesn't fit well with the setting. Why can't the characters be on Mobius? There is so much story potential there and not some clique E.T. rip off. Plus the story hardly focuses around Sonic. It's mostly involving the annoying human character Chris. Why would you name the TV show after the main character but give that character so little time on screen.

2. The worst quality of this is the characters. The voice acting to start with is terrible. Tails sounds like a girl (I know a female does the voice but look at Fairly Odd Parents) Knuckles voice sounds too deep and gruff for him, Sonic sounds very off, Amy has an annoying voice and Chris is just a bothersome to listen to. The characters themselves are all bland stereotypes. Sonic is good, Egg- man is evil, Amy is the fan-girl, Tails is a sidekick, Knuckles is the hot head and Chris is the annoying kid that nobody likes to watch. He can't do anything without Sonic and he adds nothing to the story. He's a worthless character, period.

3. The best part of this is the animation. It's pretty to look at flows well especially with the action sequences.

This has tons of potential to be remade and told right! This proves that just because it looks nice doesn't mean it is. Get rid of the humans, focus on Mobius, get some decent voice actors, get more character development and continue with the good animation and you would have a great show.

Just leave this show alone and watch the 1994 Sonic The Hedgehog cartoon or read the comics. Those didn't waste their potential.

Nothing Good Came From This
3 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
My cousin that I was babysitting (she's 4) rented this movie with her parents and when I had to watch her I had to watch the movie. She eventually grew bored and went to play with her toys while I was flabbergasted at the horrible movie.

1. The animation is some of the worse. None of the character designs have any appeal to them and they're are some questionable choices they made. Why do the cars have robot arms? Why is it when Speedy puts motor oil on the front of the cars windows she can't see but her eyes are next to her headlights? Why would a truck carry an ax with a robot arm?

2. The characters are annoying and insufferable to sit through. Sparky is an troublesome car who never listens to anyone, Gracie laughs at anything which makes her irritating, the dad is a horrible parent and Speedy has the most loathsome voice I've ever heard in any kids movie. Plus it doesn't help that the voice acting is terrible. Speedy has a high pitched wailing voice, Sparky sounds like he's slurring his words and Gracie sounds like she just learned to speak three days ago.

3. The story is a car wreck. Diesel suggests things for Sparky to do while Sparky keeps getting in trouble and he keeps listening to her. Why would you listen to someone that has gotten you into so much trouble with your dad? What in the world are gas-leaches? They look like the robots from Wall-E only with loud grinding motor noises. Plus why did Speedy survive despite having ax wounds slashed on her?

This is the kind of movie that would make you turn off your TV in three seconds. Why would anyone watch this or make this movie? the only reason I gave it a star is because at least there wasn't a musical which it seemed like at the beginning it would be one.

Watch something else and avoid this movie at all cost.

Worse Than I Thought
1 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
When I saw the picture for this movie on Google I rolled my eyes and thought. "Yay. Another animated movie rip off." However this one shocked me by being worse than I thought.

1. The animation is ugly and horrid to look at. It looks like no one put in any effort when it came to how the animals were moving their mouths because all they did was move their lips up and down. I could go into a long rant about how bad it is but i would be wasting time.

2. Speaking of wasting time a whole quarter of the movie at the beginning is the rats going on and on about how good the food is. That's wasting time at its best. It's a 40 minute movie and they spend ten minutes talking about how great the food is. Plus they also waste time by using suiting up montages when the rats put on spy gear. They do this at least three times which is like I said earlier is very pointless.

3. The voice acting sucks. They sound like they couldn't care about these roles or the movie any more than the audience. Which doesn't help the characters. If you asked me to identify any of these rats I couldn't honestly do it. They are all just bland and dull characters that I wish would walk out of this movie.

Usually in a Video Brinquedo movie there is at least one tiny factor I liked about the movie but there is no redeeming quality in this movie. This movie is just a waste of time for not only for the audience but for the makers of this movie too.

This Was A Joke
1 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This was worthy of being a spin off movie? Not The Incredibles?

1. The movie has a terrible story. This movie is like every other clique sports movie about the underdog that no one believes in rises to the challenge and wins. If you want to do a story like that fine but if you don't add anything new or creative to it than your wasting my time.

2. The characters are some of the most annoying and insufferable vehicles ever. Dusty's friends are irritating to listen and watch. Plus they are all just stereotypes that have no personal identity or purpose. The bad guy is just like The Turbo bad guy. Which coincidentally came out not to long after this movie.

3. This movie has terrible pacing. Dusty isn't good at racing but gets better with every race, bad guy hatches a plan to stop Dusty, it backfires and Dusty is adored by fans Later rinse and repeat this goes on for fifty percent of the movie.

4. The animation isn't as good as other Disney and Pixar movies but it's decent.

This movie just feel like a movie they should have played on Disney Channel for little kids to watch. Not a theatrical release which bombed at the box office. Plus it doesn't help there is a sequel and there was an announcement that there would be another sequel to this movie. The only reason this was made was to make money like with Cars and sadly when you think about the money more than the effort of a movie you failed your job.

This Movie Serves No One
1 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
~~~~ This is my review and I don't wish to disrespect anyone ~~~~ Oh my goodness, I am a Christian and this movie offended me. It doesn't do anything necessarily bad to Christians but man they hit every wrong move you could think of in this movie.
1. The story is a jumbled mess.For about thirty percent of the classes grade they have to write down on a piece of paper that God is Dead. The kid is is supposed to prove to his teacher that God's Not Dead when he was insulted by that. I'm sorry I've read the bible but honestly there is no way I can prove to someone that God is real. You could make arguments but not hard true facts. However I base my faith around Christianity for a different reason and this movie doesn't get that.
2. The characters in this movie are offensive. If you're not a Christian in this movie your nothing more than a insidious, vile, repulsive jerk. Atheists in this movie are portrayed that way. I'm sorry but I have atheists friends but I'm not going to force my religion on them. Their faith is their business but they're not being selfish and mean spirited. The only good people in this are Christians but because of the actors they are so dull and uninteresting to watch.
This is not a movie. This movie spends so little time on having conversations about these kind of topics and are instead just having tedious dialog sessions. Plus there are some questions that they never solved. Did the Muslim girl become homeless? Why are these kids taking this class that is a huge waste of time? Why hasn't anyone filed a lawsuit on the teacher that shouldn't waste his time on writing on a paper that God's Is Dead?
Don't watch this movie. I didn't like anyone in this movie, the story was garbage, it offended me even though it depicted Christians to be pure.
Pretty Good Surprisingly
21 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
It's honestly not very bad which is surprising since 4kids is the company who did this. It's not perfect but it's not bad.
1. The characters are okay. I like Bloom and her voice acting wasn't bad. I found her to be a good representation of what a human girl would do if she was a fairy. She's not perfect and makes mistakes but she does learn to not let her enemies knock her down. That's a good role model. Her friends are okay. Stella can be a bit annoying and Flora doesn't have the best voice actress working with her. Musa was pretty good, I liked Tecna and Layla was a cool tomboy. Plus the three villains witches Icy, Darcy and Stormy are cool villains and just love being evil.
2. The romance is pretty good. I like Sky and Bloom together. Their dialog can be a bit annoying but it's good. Stella and Brandon don't have good chemistry sadly. Just a bunch of cute pet nicknames and such. Musa and Riven have more of a realistic relationship. Tecna and Timmy are so adorable together. However Layla and Nabu were my favorite couple. So the romance is pretty good.
3. The story flows pretty well together. I like how they have different powers and those types of powers are imaginative too. I like the battles they have and I like trying to find out more about Blooms past.
4. The art is a sight to see. It's pretty and colorful but can be dark and menacing when needed. The backgrounds look pretty, the characters are modeled well and the other creatures are fascinating.
There are a few things that hold back this from being great like how some romances don't work, some of the magic can be a bit head scratching, the girls can be a bit annoying and of course some 4kids voice acting for secondary characters is pretty bad.
However if curiosity is begging you to watch this. You should watch it.
Pretty Good Movie But With Flaws
21 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I haven't read the novel by Peter S. Beagle so this is me reviewing the movie on its own.
1. The Artwork is really good in this movie. This looks like the artwork you would see in a children's fantasy book. The unicorn looks beautiful and the red bull looks fearsome. When you can combine pretty and gruesome you have some great talent.
2. The songs you're either going to love or hate but personally I enjoyed the songs. They're not Disney good songs but they still are enjoyable. Accept the couple song. I didn't like the male singing voice it sounded really off.
3. The characters are okay. I liked the magician and Molly. I thought they were very enjoyable characters. The villain by Christopher Lee is portrayed pretty well. I like how he can't find happiness and his determination to find it was pretty evil. Love it. The unicorn is okay. She has a goal which gives her a reason to begin this movie but her character itself is pretty bland. The prince is pretty boring. Not Sleeping Beauty Prince boring but still not very interesting.
4. The romance in this doesn't work. You could have wrote out the romance in this story and it wouldn't have affected anything. The Prince and Amalthea have no chemistry. They hardly talk and one terrible love song later they end up together. Plus how could they be together? She's a unicorn and should have taken that into consideration before dating him.
5. This is a little bit of a nitpick but it's worth mentioning that I question this film being PG. If you've seen the movie you would know but some stuff in there like the bit of nudity or the harpy made me question the rating a bit. Plus there is a bit of cursing so if your a parent who worries over stuff like that then this movie might not be for you. So maybe your older kids should watch it.
Overall it's not a bad kids movie but it does have some flaws that set it apart from being great. If you're curious enough you should watch it. If you wouldn't care to watch fantasy characters than you should skip it.
The Host (2013)
1/10
Worse Than Vampire Academy
20 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Why did they make another Stephanie Meyer movie?
1. The romance in this movie is terrible. I know nothing about these shallow teenagers and certainly don't care about what happens to them. What's even worse is when the human girl who's body has been taken over by the alien she starts talking to her and complains which gets very annoying. All we hear is her saying 'Yuck! Gross! Stop kissing him! That's my boyfriend!' That made me want to mute my TV. The other characters are lame and unoriginal.
2. For a movie about an alien invasion it's terribly lame. the aliens are some of the most nonthreatening aliens I've ever seen in any movie. They don't carry any weapons and all they want is a clean environment. I know in the movie we would have to give up our free will but this movie does a terrible job at showing the downfall to all of this. Which is frustrating because this has been done before. (Watch Equilibrium with Christian Bale)
3. Why does the alien Wanda agree to rebel? Is it because she wants to kiss cute guys? That's it? Also don't get me started on the ending.
If you want a good romance movie check through some the movies on IMDb. Same if you wanted an alien invasion movie. Skip this movie because it has nothing to offer you.
Teenage Cousin And I Didn't Like It
20 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
My sixteen year old cousin didn't even like this movie. What hope did I have of liking it? I'm strictly going by the movie instead of the books since I haven't read them.
1. The characters are annoying and pathetic. Rose sucks at being a Guardian, flirts with her teacher and never stays quiet. She is irritating and one of the worse female characters ever. The princess is just dull and not what you would want from a vampire. Why can't we have vampires that love tasting blood? It's what they do. Unless she's like Angel who has a soul or Blade whom is half human she should be relishing blood. The other characters are forgettable and bring nothing to the plot. Plus the bad guys daughter turns up to be evil was pretty obvious.
2. Yes I did notice how this movie rips off Harry Potter which was very distracting honestly. Which didn't help the story or the plot holes. Why did the necklace not kill Rose but make her make-out with her teacher? (Even typing that question is making me gross out) Why do they decide to go to the dance instead of staying in their rooms since it's safer? Why do they have a jail right under the school?
3.Plus this movie has horrible pacing. Bullies play a dumb prank, student flirts with teacher (yuck) and The Princess tries to become more popular. Lather, rinse and repeat.
This movie isn't as bad as Twilight but it still is bad. The vampires in this movie are still terrible, the high school is so clique that it makes me wish that I was watching Buffy or Harry Potter, this movie starts fast then it slows down at break neck speed in the middle of the movie with plot points that are unnecessary and I know I've mentioned this earlier but I really do hate Rose.
She's a complainer, aggravating and honestly she's worthless. She can't do anything without someone giving her some help which is more strange since she's supposed to be a guardian.
Xiaolin Showdown (2003–2006)
9/10
A Great Kids Show
20 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I remember watching the advertisement on this show and thought it was going to be cheesy and lame. Much to my surprise, it's very good.
1. The characters are all likable and fun (heroes and villains) to watch. My favorites are most certainly the villains. I like evil boy genius Jack Spicer and cool martial arts master Chase Young. The young monks act like teenagers but not in the bad sort of way. They all have traits that make them stand out.
2. The story is pretty cool. They find all these different artifacts that can do cool things. I would like to tell you my favorites but unfortunately I can't spell them. I like the showdowns this show has. Some of my favorites are the ones where it's not having any of the artifacts (I won't say their actual names because again I can't spell) so it shows what these monks can really do.
3. The art work is pretty cool. I like the style they were going through. A little bit of Mulan and a typical Saturday morning cartoon style.
This show is fun. It's made for little kids and adults I did take one star off though because of some of the issues the last season had which many fans could guess what they are. (Hannibal Bean and The Time Travel)
I recommend it.
Endless Love (1981)
1/10
Rotten Romance
20 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I remember reading the book about 4 years ago and really liked it so if I forgot something from it I apologize. I understand that certain things in the movie must change from the book but sadly it you make changes the change has to make sense. This didn't happen.
1. These two leads are terrible! I can honestly say that Edward and Bella had more things to say than this. They at least had a conversation about science together. David and Jade just like saying how much they love each other and how they couldn't be apart from one another. That's it. There is no character development from them and no reason for them to stay together. Plus no offense to the actors but there not good at playing these roles. Maybe it's the directors fault but it still is terrible. David is unpleasant to watch which was part of the book but they should have at least made him understanding enough for the audience which sadly he isn't and makes his role as leading male disturbing. Jade is just a whiny teenage girl that I've seen before.
2. The side characters are obnoxious and eerie to watch. The dad is totally crazy, the mother is honestly one of the more frightening mother roles I've ever seen, the other characters are dull and the only one who deserves the one star I'm giving this movie is James Spader. He did a pretty good performance for what he was given.
3. The story is just a mess of problems. Why didn't the dad throw David off his property since technically he was trespassing and refusing to leave? Why did the judge say he couldn't contact Jade yet David is seen sending her letters? Why didn't the dad do anything when he saw naked David in his daughters room and then she went in with only a towel on? Yeah, motivations in this movie are apparently just silly myths.
This could've been a good movie. I could see potential behind it but sadly this movie fell flat on its face. The romance doesn't work, the characters don't work and sadly the story doesn't work. When those three things don't work in a romance movie you sadly have a bad movie.
One Of My Favorites To Watch
19 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I first saw this from a huge friend of mine who loved Red Vs Blue. The Red Trailer made me really impressed and left a positive reaction on me.
Thankfully it was true when watching this show. I even showed it to my Mom and she loves it just as much.
1. The characters are great! They're not just stereotypes that you would see in other shows. They have backgrounds, identities and how the interact off of one another is beautiful.
2. The animation is pretty good. In Volume 1 yes the background people are all black but that's something I can get past. The action animation is amazing! I love the creative minds of the weapons and it is genius! They might seem unrealistic but in this show it works.
3. The story is awesome. I can totally get behind a bunch of warriors in training to fight off the creatures of Grim. Plus the Grim are pretty cool designs and I can't wait to see more of them. (Personally I hope there will crocodiles, lions or sharks)
4. The humor is something I normally wouldn't talk about unless it's really good or really bad. However I laughed till i was in tears during this show. The comedy was perfect!
The effort and imaginative ideas in this show work to perfection. The characters are some of my favorites that even compete with some of my other favorite shows. The music I must also add is heaven to my ears. When I get an Itunes gift card I will buy the songs and even get merchandise later. I only get merchandise for stuff I love. So go watch it and have fun!
