Not Bad - Not Great - Just Good
30 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I loved the original Ghostbusters, and Afterlife was a great comeback. But this was slow moving and seemed thrown together. Paul Rudd made me chuckle once or twice but Kumail Nanjiani made the movie IMO. I agree with someone else who previously said the antagonist was too powerful. It made no sense why he didn't just kill them all in the firehouse. Also, I did t get why Phoebe thought jumping into the soul sucker was a good idea. Her rapport with Melody was cute and could have been so much more. It felt like it was missing a lot and thus unnecessary. The Stay Puft Marshmallow Men were also really cute. I do wish Bill Murray had a bigger role. I don't regret seeing it, but I wouldn't have been sad had I waited for pay per view or HBO viewing, either.

Good Set Up
2 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This whole season was ok but it definitely set up things really well for next season. This episode tied up this season nicely. The characters still have room for growth, but they did seem to form some great bonds along the way. I'm enjoying the mythological history swept in with the adventure. It was beautiful to see Lance Reddick in one of his last roles. I do understand the controversy with casting a black man as Zeus but I also believe it is possible it's just one of his forms. This may be the route they take since, sadly, Lance passed away last year. Either way, it was enjoyable and I'm looking forward to next season!

Great Message about Teamwork and Family
29 January 2024
This had me laughing through most of the movie. Epps stole the show, as usual. Snoop looked like he had a hard time not cracking up a few times. People rating it down due to the language are just not able to properly relate. First of all, it's Snoop Dogg! Secondly, kids are not all sweet little clean mother buggers. They curse...and they do it a lot more than some moms and dads care to believe. If you can't get past that, you will miss the entire message. It's about family and being part of a team, and it does a great job getting that message across. Another tidbit that made this even more special is that it was inspired by the league Snoop created almost 20 years ago for kids of every possible background to "learn values through football and tramwork." He's given this opportunity to over 80,000 kids and 20,000 went on to play in college! That's some kinda special! I really enjoyed it!

Melissa is the only saving grace
23 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The plot is horrid. Melissa McCarthy is hilarious and the only reason I'm giving this any stars.

First of all, Bernard is British but his family visits and none of them are. Secondly, his boss fires him for asking for a few weeks off? Third, his wife leaves him over the holidays for missing his daughter's birthday? Finally, he gets a genie and just wants his jerk of a wife back? Just ridiculousness. But, Melissa is Melissa and the only reason I kept watching. She is hilarious! I don't regret watching since she was in it, but both nothing else about the movie feels like any effort was put into this lazy screenplay.

I wanted to like this...
7 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I really wanted to like this show. But, I just have it on for background noise anymore. I have been a fan of Mayim Bialic and Swoosie Kurtz forever, but this show really falls flat. The only chemistry was with Leslie Jordan and Swoosie. His tragic passing really hurt the show overall. Mayim and Cheyenne are not believable as a couple at all, and the way the get together is so abrupt. I think she is rude and spoiled and a very few men would put up with her behavior for long. Then, to have her be the one to end it because she found out his career was important to him after just one incident was ridiculous. I am going to try and watch Miranda and hope it tops this mess of a show.

Fun and Adventurous Spy Shenanigans
23 March 2023
I really enjoyed the movie, so I decided to give the tv show a shot. Of course, suspension of disbelief is a must. But it hits the ground running. The action is great, and there is just enough humor to balance out the drama. The actors are still feeling their way around and developing chemistry, but there have only been four episodes. I am not a fan of the kids. I do think they are overdoing the angst ridden and stand-offish teen persona a bit. I do hope they develop into more complete characters. I have faith it will find its footing as time goes on. If you liked shows like Chuck and Burn Notice, give it a shot.

Predictable but fun
25 December 2022
The characters were basically caricatures of the rich stereotypes. The acting was over the top, but it suited the storyline perfectly. Daniel Craig returns as Benoit Blanc, and he doesn't disappoint at all. The movie was a lot of fun, though I found it quite predictable. If you like a bit of Agatha Christie, a hint of Sherlock Holmes and a dash of humor mixed in, a you will likely enjoy this movie. It's definitely a great cast, and each actor portrayed their character with just the right amount of serious and silliness. As with many movies these days, it is a hair longer than it should have been, but not terribly so. I would definitely watch more like this!

Fun but a bit too long
19 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This was a very interesting case study in contract law. In all honesty, I think the judge should have awarded them something. I can see where kids might think it's possible...and I can see how an ambitious kid could have done so. Add in the fraud they committed in the Philippines and basically murdered a woman, I don't think I'll ever drink Pepsi again...not that I do much anyway.

There are some very interesting characters involved. They were all definitely go-getters. Kudos to them for going up against Goliath.

I will say this was definitely too long. It would have actually made a great movie. But, as a documentary, 2 hours would have gotten the story across.

A Cat Love Story
10 October 2022
This is not really a documentary about cats and their behaviors but rather an homage to cats. There is a little bit of delving into the psyche of cats and their empathetic abilities and their learning abilities. It was enjoyable enough, and I really loved seeing so many feline personalities. I will say that it would have been very cool if it actually had some new and updated information. There was nothing in it I didn't already know except maybe that Japanese cats have different personalities than American cats. Overall, it's not a bad watch but don't go in thinking you'll walk away with cat enlightenment.

Poor Scripting
1 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I am a day 1 Sister Wives OG viewer and find the lifestyle interesting. I know this is old and no longer on the air but I figured I would give it a watch. I was disappointed as soon as it came on with the obvious scripted interactions. You don't wake up in bed with mikes attached to your body. I know most of the shows are scripted to a degree, but at least they try to cover it up. The way they speak with one another and interact seems so obviously rehearsed in most scenes. Bright side.,,Sister Wives started out very "perfect," so it is good that this didn't do that. We all know there is no perfect marriage. I can see why it didn't last.

Mina Is A Superwoman
17 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know how she manages all that she does and maintains her composure. I will say, Thomas and his rude attitude is something I can do without. I watch Good Bones as a feel good show, and I had hoped for the same from this. And, for the most part, it is. He is just an annoying hitch, but it appears he walked off, and they got someone else. But I'm in the middle of episode 2 and am unsure if it's permanent. I hope so. I miss her demo team. Those guys always make me laugh and are so supportive of Mina and her jobs. I love what her concept is for a B&B and an event hall to function together. It is interesting to see everything that goes into something like this. I am so to see what the final product is going to be.

Boring and Ridiculous
7 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS AHEAD: Note I haven't read it, so I don't know how authentic / true to the art it is. I'm basing it solely on what I'm watching.

This was my least favorite episode by far. It was much darker than the others, but I guess that was the intent. I just found the premise ridiculous. So, if we tell the truth, we suddenly just want to screw and kill one another? That doesn't say much about humanity. I also felt it was as woke as woke gets. I'm fine with the LGBTQIA+ community, as I'm part of it. But, this just felt like pandering. The series in and of itself does a lot of that, but the story is good enough to overshadow it most of the time. It did not in this one.

The antagonist (John) is believable. I'll give him that. I found it odd that his mother sacrificed herself for him. She knew the Ruby destroyed his mind, and this episode does expose that very well. She had to know he was not going to do as she requested. I do love how Dream doesn't blame him for his actions. That was fair play.

I love Gaiman, and I would never let these things take away from the story as a whole. But I just felt this episode could have been so much more than it was.

Creative and Uplifting
5 April 2022
I love Bargain Block and Good Bones more than any other flip / design show because they are doing what they do out of love. It's about bringing abandoned and run down homes new life and injecting beauty back into neighborhoods. Keith and Evan are making affordable fully designed and furnished homes for first time buyers and adding so many fun and artsy (think graffiti...glam...animal print) touches to each and every one. No two are alike! The uniqueness isn't for everyone, but it doesn't have to be. It just has to be for "one." I can't wait for season 2!

Captivating and Disgusting Simultaneously
25 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is very well laid out as a docuseries. Each episode has a solid story and plenty of people to back up what is being said. There is definitely enough information being shared to pique your interest and want you back for more. The only thing I wish is hearing the story from someone who did report it. Surely someone did along the way

I believe most of the people attacking this as #metoo fodder have never been victimized. These women didn't speak up before because of people saying things like they deserved it or worshipping Hef. The ones that slept with men because they felt it would get them places made their own choices. I agree, although that shouldn't have ever had to happen, either. But to be drugged by someone you thought was a friend and wake up bleeding from your rectum is rape. To be told you're going to star in a movie and then be tied up, beaten and raped repeatedly only to have it covered up is rape and a second victimization by the Cleanup Crew. And seriously...he was so deep in sex crimes that he needed a cleanup crew? His butlers and assistants that were never victimized spoke up for the girls and backed up what they were saying. They were there. Rape victims are silenced. We are told no one will believe us and that it served us right. That is why we take 30 years to speak up. And some of us never name our rapist, even after 36 years, because we still feel that way. So, watch this with an open mind and consider the revenge porn, the cleanup crew, the power of these celebrity men, and the 18 - 25 year olds in the mix. Ask yourself, "What if that were my kid/sister/mom/me??"

Kendra Wants This But Her Team Wants Her to Fail
16 December 2021
I feel for her. She has worked so hard to get to this point, and they threw her to the wolves. Starting out selling real estate with multi-million dollar homes would be next to impossible for the best of them. She needs confidence builders, training and experience. The way these men are looking down on her as a totally inexperienced realtor is disgusting. They are not providing her with the true tools she needs to succeed. It's obvious they are hoping for her failure.

I've always liked Gutfield, and I love that he has a late night show. There are some lame jokes, for sure. But any late night host has writers that aren't 100%. But, overall, I love his reporting and humor!

Mackie really shows his acting chops
21 May 2021
After watching the first episode and being unimpressed, I figured I would try more. I am glad I did. The emotion Anthony Mackie brings to this story is impeccable. He speaks with himself as if it's another person. He shows two slightly different personas. And it's beautiful hearing someone describe their family like that.

Suspenseful and a Roller Coaster Ride
24 April 2021
I don't get the low ratings. I was impressed with the roller coaster ride the documentary took us on. I was unaware of this case in any way shape or form, so perhaps others who knew about it wanted a new story. The information is all very logically placed and well presented. The shots gives you the emotions needed to feel the events. The history of the hotel was pretty interesting also. I binge watched it, and I have no regrets.

Made Me Homesick
1 December 2020
Folks saying this is unrealistic either didn't live there or were sheltered. The DEA came in and closed the pill mills in the 90s and left behind many damaged addicts with no recourse. People had no available rehab and many turned to heroin. I have lost far too many friends to this terrible storyline. And, the scenery, the homes, the accents, the usage of Mamaw and Papaw...it's all reminiscent of my childhood in So Ohio. Well done.

Ferris Bueller meets Mad Max
25 October 2019
I am loving this show! It's a fun twist on zombies and the apocalypse. You must be able to have fun and suspend disbelief to enjoy this. I can't believed the reviews are not higher, but I'm guessing a lot of folks are just looking for something to complain about these days. It's a coming of age series with several fun twists. And the zombies are atypical for sure! And, it's fun seeing Broderick in such a unique role. Give it a chance. I started and couldn't stop until I had watched every episode!

Laugh Out Loud Humor
27 September 2019
When something makes me actually laugh out loud while I'm alone, I consider it to be very funny...or a sign I'm closer to losing my mind. In this case, I believe it's a great comedy. It's Pitch Perfect meets Sister Act meets Grumpy Old Man. The puns and sweet ignorance of the cast kept me in stitches. I hope the momentum continues!

Growing with every episode
16 April 2019
When I saw the first episode, it was meh. But, as the series as moved on, and the relationships have grown and characters have been developed, I think this could move up as one is the best sitcoms on tv once Big Bang takes its final bows. The jokes are fresh, and there is balance in the racial humor. Black or White, everyone is fair game for some stereotypical fun poking. Folks that did not like it initially should binge it and see if they still feel the same way. I really think it improves with every episode!

Every Bad Review is from lovers of the original
19 January 2019
I guess this true story is a remake of a French film. It is a great story full of laughs and emotion. It's about finding one's place and developing friendships. Every single bad review complains the original was better. It almost seems as if the creators of the original had all their friends and fans come write bad reviews whatever they saw this one or not. This is a very enjoyable film. Don't believe the bad reviews!
